Don't want to spend over $1,000 on an original art piece that may not go with your dcor in 10 years? Tired of fishing through the Z-Gallery for that right decorative item for your living room...that many of your friends may already have for they spend afternoons at Santana Row too (he he). Check out the Saratoga Rotary Art Show in Saratoga (duh) to find great one of a kind art pieces from very talented Bay Area artists. My wife and I were amazed by the quality and creativity of the artists that go well beyond the typical "art and wine festival" shows that fill the summer calendars. We saw great bronze work, glass creations, water color paintings and photography. The Rotary team reviews artist submissions for the show to ensure a level of talent, eliminating the garish t-shirt and dream-catcher booths. My family roots go deep into Saratoga and I can remember the show being more robust in past years. Come early to get first look at the available pieces. If you are a current Saratoga resident this is a great opportunity to support the local schools and community. Many local kids perform in choirs, theater troops etc. There is even a "Saratoga Idol" contest showcasing local singers with scholarship money to the winners. Too bad the sound system wasn't better on Sunday...I would have stayed around longer. Keep this show going, Saratoga, and keep your community roots strong!

Community spirit overflows at this local art and wine show. After about an hour walking around enjoying the sun and admiring the awesome talent God gives people and son and I ended up buying some wonderful garden art. Prices across the board were very reasonable. You'll leave with galary quality pieces that you won't need to take several months to pay off. The Rotary screens the artists so you won't find flea market artists here. Deborah Loriau

In 2015 it moved off the lawns and into the parking lot of West Valley College - hot asphalt, shadeless, and no place to sit or get out of the sun. It has none of the charm of the lawns that kept things cool and windy and pleasant in past years. They say they have been banned from the lawns by the college for a few years as long as construction is going on, but there was construction in past years in areas that were simply posted off-limits to the fair. The art seemed not as well juried as in the past. Perhaps we're just getting tired of the place and need a new venue. It was an overall disappointment. Removed from our yearly must-do list.

The Saratoga Rotary Art Show has been a Silicon Valley tradition for almost 60 years and part of our lives for the past 20. Held on the grounds of West Valley College there is ample room for the very substantial crowd who visit from all across the Bay Area to browse the wide range of every kind of art you can imagine. Plus wine tastings, lots of food and entertainment. And in 2015 it's going to be a two day show so looks like it will be even bigger and better :)
