This is a top notch community theatre company that puts on great shows season after season. Recently my favorites have been "Singing in the Rain" and "A Little Night Music."Amazing performers and I love that they use a live orchestra too!

This is a wonderful local community theatre company that takes on some ambitious stage and musical projects and does wonderfully at engaging the community. My son has been in 2 of their productions and it's always a fun and learning experience. Their events, specially opening nights, are fun.

Productions are always very professional, with actors that are seriously talented, a well-synced orchestra, and topped off with brilliant costumes, lighting, and set. I've enjoyed every musical I've seen here -- at least 10 shows over the past few years! My favorite part of attending SBMT's shows is the level of commitment by the actors to their characters, no matter how large or how small. TIP: It is beneficial to print out tickets at home prior to the show, in order to avoid long waits at the box office. Their online system is pretty smooth!

I've seen many SBMT productions over the years, and I've also been fortunate enough to play as a member of the orchestra in two of them (2015's Hairspray and 2018's Hunchback of Notre Dame). SMBT is one of the best musical theater companies in the Bay Area, hands down. I live in Fremont, and there is plenty of theater in that area, but I will always make the time to come all the way down to Saratoga for the high-quality, professional productions offered at SBMT. Plus, I can tell you first hand that the people involved in these productions, from cast to crew and beyond, are all wonderful! I think it's sad that a few people chose to give less-than-stellar reviews for SMBT with reasons such as "the address was wrong" or "the air conditioning was too low". Come on people! The reviews should be for the quality of the productions, which are as good as it gets!

The venue for South Bay Musical Theatre is small but nice. Any seat has a good view and good sound. But they had air-conditioning set way to low...by 5 degrees below comfortable. My friend and I attended The Hunchback of Notre Dame and we both enjoyed it. The vocals were absolutely superb. Wow! But the first half of the performance was drawn out too long, however. Jennifer Maggio was especially superb in her acting and singing. What a local talent!!! For a community theater, South Bay Musical Theatre of Saratoga is exceptional. Parking is off-street and free.

Thoroughly Modern Millie was thoroughly enjoyable! Amazing talent- the singing, dancing, and costumes were outstanding. This play house is a hidden gem in Saratoga. All the seats are good and the prices are so reasonable. I will certainly be back again!

This star is not for the theatre itself, but for the production we just saw of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Unfortunately the role of Lorelei was played by someone much older than it should have been. She would have been more suited for an older role. The choreography was sometimes off. Movement of sets and props was sometime noise. Overall my husband and I were disappointed. We love the South Bay Community Theatre and will continue to support it. They have some great shows planned for the 2014-2015 season and we are planning to renew our subscription. Overall the Theatre and the majority of their productions get four stars.

Due to highly unusual circumstances I found myself in Saratoga Saturday night looking for something fun to do. I found it at the South Bay Theatre for the opening night of Hair Spray. It was a wonderful production with high energy and star talent. The sights, sounds and atmosphere were simply electric. Gifted singers and dancers filled the intimate stage and the orchestra didn't miss a note. It may have run two scenes too long but was otherwise a wonderful night out. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went to 2 productions so far. They are great!! The whole company puts so much into it. They are well coordinated, great music and the sets really puts you right in the scene. Great talent and no flubs at all.
