Had an absolutely fabulous experience with Vanessa and Tony last night, they were extremely nice and made our dinner extra special. Ordered the crudo again because it's mouth watering! My sister in law ordered the squid ink pasta. Will go back to see Tony and Vanessa again!

Been here a few times. Couple times at the bar and a couple times in the dining area. The dining service is great. Food is good. The bar are man I would love to say it's an easy stop for a drink, but the service here is lacking. Attentiveness need some help. We order a drink and finish it in a timely manner but we have to wait an abnormally long time to see if you want something else. It's is a first come seating at the bar and outside. You wonder if they're paying attention as we usually have to flag someone down. Hopefully they improve to stay in this very competitive market. They do have a great location

The food is delicious, the service Is phenomenal, and the ambiance is gorgeous! The cocktails are out of this world! We had the butternut squash ravioli and the grilled chicken salad. After meeting the manager, David, It is easy to see why eating here is such a joy. He is the most kind and charming man. He stopped by our table (and the tables around us) multiple times to check on us, and it was the best experience!! Go see for yourself!

I love the ambiance and drinks here, but the food was definitely disappointing. As for the ambiance, I love the trendy casual and earthy aesthetic, and the bright, open patio. The restaurant is busy, lively and has a fun energy on a Friday night. As for drinks, I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and then Pinot Grigio. They were both a little more floral than I prefer (generally like French or NZ Sauv Blanc and very acidic wines), but I thought both still had good flavor profiles and were refreshing on a hot day. For the food, my boyfriend and I ordered the Fornello Pugliese to share, which includes skirt steak, homemade sourdough bread, spicy sausage, chicken thighs and bombettes filled with mortadella and cheese grilled over open fire. Unfortunately, the steak and chicken thighs were dry and the spicy sausage wasn't very flavorful (or spicy). The bombettes weren't for us, either -- the texture of the mortadella and cheese made it look and feel like uncooked meat inside, even though mortadella is a cooked cured meat. If it weren't for the wine and ambiance, I probably wouldn't come back for the food; however, I like the other two things enough that I'd be interested in coming back to try something new.

Located in Eataly, San Jose at Valley Fair. You can dine inside or outside on the balcony. Reservations are highly recommended as this place gets packed. The appetizer with the chimichurri sauce was excellent, as was the burrata dish. They do offer a gluten free pasta, bonus points to them, but I think for this type of restaurant, if you are GF, you are better off just getting something that is naturally gluten free, stay away from the GF pasta. I honestly haven't had a GF pasta anywhere that has the same texture and taste as regular pasta. Get the appetizer dish for your entree. I forget what it was called but I included a picture of it.

First off, I'd like to start by saying how nice the ambiance of the restaurant and bar is. We came here on a sunny day and the weather was beautiful. The bar itself looks nice and has a good variety of cocktails. We received amazing service from one of the bartenders, who seemed friendly and eager to help. When we told him it was my cousins birthday, he gave us pastries to enjoy (see below). The drinks he made were also nice to sip on, though they could have been stronger ;) However, we left to put our names down on the waitlist for a different restaurant nearby and when we came back we got a different bartender who did not seem to be happy we were there. When we asked him what kind of tequila he had, he slapped the menu open, pointed at the tequila, said "tequila" and then walked away. My cousin and I looked at each other because we caught the vibe that he didn't want us there. Anyways, we ended up ordering some drinks and quickly leaving because the energy quickly went south. It's crazy how the ambiance of a place can change when the energy changes! I would still come back here again, but only if our first bartender serves us! Because this place is pretty nice and a cool place to spend some time, either before or after shopping or something.

Final thoughts: 4.73/5 This place has been on my list of places that I have been wanting to go to for the longest time now and I finally got to go on a lunch date with my girlies. Definitely a solid 5 star. Along with my company, the food was amazing, service was very nice, and vibes were just right. Food: Tagliatelle Alla Norcina: 4.7/5 Per our waiter, this dish has more of a white sauce. Their pastas are amazing and definitely what they are known for. This dish has a housemade tagliatelle with sausage for the protein, porcini mushroom ragu, with black truffle butter and agriform parmigiano reggiano. The pasta is cooked to perfection. Very nice al dente; there's some bite to it, but it has that perfect chew. There's just enough sauce to cover the pasta, but it's not pooling at the bottom. Consistency was also very creamy, but was very light. The umami flavor from the truffle butter and mushroom ragu really come out nicely in the dish. None of the flavors are overpowering, but they balance out very well. Minced sausage is added throughout the dish and well incorporated into the dish. The presentation was amazing with the garnish of parmigiano. Arrosticini: 4.5/5 This dish was grilled lamb Abruzzese skewers paired with grilled house made rustic bread, and espelette pepper, lemon, and sea salt for seasoning on the side. Not my favorite item, but amazing nonetheless. The meat on the skewer was quite thin and that might have contributed to the meats being more on the dry side. Something I appreciate is that the seasoning is placed on the side in a pile on the board, so that we are able to control how much seasoning is added to the meat. The bread is thin and my thought was that it is going to be hard, but it was actually more crispy than hard. Very nice addition to the board. It contributes well with the texture and flavor. Tiramisu Pancakes: 4.8/5 My favorite of the three items that I tried today. The pancake is very soft and fluffy. I did feel like the texture of the pancake was slightly dry and perhaps a bit more overcooked than I would like it. Mini Fruit Tartlette (Birthday Dessert): This was a complimentary dessert that they provide for your birthday. Very cute and nice gesture. They melt a candle onto the plate as well and light it up. The tart is very small, but it's the perfect bite-sized dessert. Very fruity and refreshing. Menu: Side note about their menus. Apparently, their menus do change quite often. Something I did want to try was the squid ink pasta, but this item was removed from their menu during the time that we went. Perhaps they do rotate items in and out, so you can always ask them to see if there is an item that you previously see and want to try. -------- Quality: Made in-house Their quality appears to be amazing. The pastas are made in-house and they definitely do not disappoint. Something about freshly made pasta is amazing. Each component of the dishes seems very thought out and they contribute nicely together. Price: $$$ This is definitely what you would consider fine dining. The prices lean more on the expensive side, but their quality is something that I would pay for. Price range will really vary depending on what you get, but the price was around $50 to $70 per person today. We did get some drinks too, so that contributes to the total amount. Again, their quality was amazing though and this is a place that I would enjoy coming to again. Service: Some of the best that I've seen Their waiters and waitresses are so super sweet. Something very different is that the restaurant manager or supervisor would come out and greet all of the customers there at the time. While this can be considered a simple or small gesture, I really appreciate this gesture because it shows you care. My friends have been here multiple times and this is something that he does each time, which is amazing. They even mentioned that he will check on you, see where you food is, and even deliver the food to your table for you. Truly this good customer service. Ambiance: Fine dining vibes Rooftop brunch place is what this place is also known for because the seating is literally outside on the balcony of Eataly. The weather was just right on the day we went. The sun wasn't beaming outside, the weather was cool, and the vibes were chefs kiss. It really does give the feels of a fine dining meal. Location/Parking: Valley Fair on a Balcony This place is located at Valley Fair. The restaurant itself is on the balcony of Eataly. I got lost trying to find this place because it's "inside" of Eataly on the third floor. Once you locate Eataly, you go up the escalator or elevator, it will be on the third floor where the outdoors balcony is. There are signs, but not the most obvious place for me. There are multiple parking spaces here. Unfortunate that you only get 2 hours of free parking now, but I digress.
