Rented a car for multiple days while parents visited from India back in 2018. They had the best deals as compared to other online portals. We rented a car that seated 6 people and it still had space to fit 1 more person. It had enough space to place our luggage for 5 days trip. Since we booked it during ThanksGiving season, we had less options otherwise they had a lot of great options. Car was nice and clean. Very well maintained and had less miles on it. Connecting phone to the music system was little tricky but it was manageable. Its located near San Jose downtown so its a convenient location. Would surely recommend this place to rent big cars.

In the comments, Tammi stated an excuse that was not once mentioned to me before. It is appalling for me that a business would make excuses instead of simply apologizing for their actions. They were extremely rude to my parents in person and lied saying they called when they never did. Then, because of my review, tried to change their tone on Yelp. I ended up calling to see if they would resolve the issues and nothing was resolved. They blamed it on the online platform and had me go in circles. At the end of the day, they kept my money that they essentially stole. They told me it was stated in their terms, which, by the way, I couldn't find because they purposefully hide. If it is stated in the terms that miles are not unlimited, then the business should NOT state unlimited mile. Based on CA contract law, it doesn't matter if it is in the contract if it is hidden. You can't prove contractual intent, one of the elements of a valid contract, if you intentionally make it nearly impossible for someone to see and advertise false information first thing on the page. This place has no sense of professionalism. If I had the time, I would definitely take them to court. I previously wanted to give this place zero stars. Now, I want to give them negative stars for wasting my time.

Rented here multiple times but never came back after they changed some of their policies. No unlimited mileage, insurance not honored, after hours drop off fees, additional fees such as insurance, deposit fee twice as much as your rental, airport fees although they are off airport, customer service not acceptable, unpredictable what kind of car you will get and it took us an hour to pick up our car because they are still cleaning it! They changed address so previous reviews were deleted but the way they treat their customers still follow them wherever they go! Good luck getting charged more when you pick up your car. Avoid them.

DISAPPOINTED. This is the worst van I have been in. We rent the van going from San Jose to Las Vegas and it's a one way trip, which means the van is left at AVR in Las Vegas. I understand that the San Jose location would lose a van and I have no problem with them giving me an old van. HOWEVER, I do have problem with them giving me a dirty and smelly van. The seats are stained and the whole entire car smells like . We had to BUY extra sheets to cover the seat. We paid $825 for 3 days and I'm sure this van did not worth that price.

We booked a van through Kayak and unfortunately when we went to pick up the rental, the confirmation we saw was not consistent with AVR's policy. AVR needs to be responsible for their advertisement. In the confirmation we had unlimited miles but in person when I went to pick up the car it was limited so we had to pay 25 cents a mile after going over the given (300 miles/day). Apparently somewhere in the terms and condition that information is disclosed. Good luck finding it when you are pushed against the corner on the day you have to leave for your trip, knowing you have no luck booking another van for that day. We decided to suck it up and go through with this since we had no other options. Putting that behind, on this trip the car almost caught on fire. There was no proper safety inspection. The truck lamp with its terminals poked through a mattress and almost started a fire so we had to remove the lamp to stop it. It took us a bit to detect the smell. Thank GOD the car didn't catch on fire. We go to return the car, I realized the lady who helped me did not give me any paperwork. We searched the car and found nothing. I went for after hour drop-off and found no parking nearby. The next day when I went to drop off the car, I decided to show them the pictures of the incident hoping they would give me a break. They did not give a crap. They told me "hey don't worry, we wont charge you for it". My recommendation: rent from AVR if you are planning to drive to Mexico and never come back. That was a joke. Don't do it because you might end up with lots of problems in the middle of the road due to improper safety inspection. Below are the pictures of the incident. My friends and I are planning to reach out to every corner of the social media to warn people to stay away from AVR. Terrible company.

On the email it said unlimited miles. I have the email as proof. Went to pick up the car and was told it wasn't unlimited miles. DID NOT pick up the car and was still charged. I went through carrental.com. That is NOT how you get people money. If you listed on the website that it's unlimited miles it should be unlimited miles. I didnt cancel my reservation. You did false advertisement. You didn't deliver on the website. Just terrible. Go somewhere else and don't rent from these people. My credit card dispute with car rental and after 2 weeks I still had to pay. Just shady ass company. Carrental.com shame on you piece of shiet.

This is a very good alternative to regular car rental companies. It is. It at the airport but the shuttle will take you to the office. The prices are competitive for 7/8+ passenger vans. The only downside is that they charge extra 20$ per day for cans with back camera and Bluetooth which to me is a scam. I was charged 60$ extra because. Wanted a back camera for driving duh a large car. Overall I would recommend them.

This place is terrible. DO NOT ever rent from them. They do not like the fact that you booked your car from a third party like orbitz or hotwire. They will tell you that you are booked on a limited miles car although your booking shows that you are on an unlimited miles booking. Apparently, they have this written up somewhere hidden in the T&Cs. Then they will try to sell their insurance to you even though you do not need if you have car insurance. They will try to sell sell and sell and get angry if you just say no. Then they will try to sell their stupid fuel package which is much higher than all the other insurance places. When you tell them "Nah I'll bring the car back full" you will get some more angry looks. They do not have a place to park cars but if you call them beforehand, they say "yes we are located a little away from the airport so you can park your car for 48 hours" Then when you are there, they clearly deny as they have no customer parking and "you can park on the street if you want". The van that was given to me was not even clean and the agent (Tammi) told me she will give me a discount. Not that I was expecting that after my experience so far. While returning the car, there was a long wait. Finally, I was told that they can email me my receipt after checking the car as they were busy. I reminded them about the discount and was told that there is no note that says so. Sad, disgusted and angered I left the place with a lesson to never rent from this crappy place again.

When I booked the car, it was unlimited miles at Carrentals website. But when I picked the car, the people reaction clearly show that Airport Van Rental did not like the way customer book the reservation through the third party. They said to me I can only have limited mile for my rental car because of the policy, which you have to read. They told me as a local renter only get a limited mile. I show them my booking page that shows unlimited miles for my booking, but they said I should not book through the third party, and need to read carefully for the term and conditions. I really do not understand why they treat people differently under the same condition and term. Why local renter has to go through this hell. I end up not picking the car from them. And I will never use their car rental ever again. I have to pay an extra $100 more to rent a new car at the airport. That was very last mins things, I hate the whole experience. I got very disappointed and very upset. That mass up my travel plan. Please do not go there. Please find another rental company.

-5 STAR available?! NEVER AGAIN! AVR (AKA ACE) charges locals mileage even if your rental says "unlimited". BE AWARE! Cheap rental with surprises fees in the end. Rental property location is not provided and you MUST call their shuttle service. I waited for 1 hour to be picked up. @CarRentals.com is a 3rd party and the two companies play the blame game, plain bait and switch. My rental was double in the end! next time I will use a reputable company such as @budget @avis @hertz
