Dinner was incredible, worthy of all the accolades.

The inn experience was overall good: the breakfast was amazing, the in-room food+drinks (including being able to brew your own matcha) was also great. However, we had trouble sleeping at night because (1) the shades weren't quite blackout, so light was seeping through in the morning and (2) we were woken up by garbage trucks that were driving around at 4AM, nonstop until 7AM -- would have expected the noise insulation to be better. For the hotel price point, I'd expect to be able to get a good nights sleep :-)

All in all, I would still highly recommend the inn + restaurant and would come again. Being able to get a dinner reservation at the SingleThreads restaurant and being able to go upstairs to your room after dinner was just such an incredible experience. I would just advise to bring earplugs and an eye-mask if you're sensitive to noise/light when sleeping.

Situated on a charming corner in a sweet, walkable, village-like town, you will find the gem that is Single Thread. I joined my brother for my birthday dinner here in late October, and despite mild initial concerns regarding service from reading a few reviews, I’m happy to report that the entire dining experience was ✨flawless✨

From the moment we approached the building, the warm welcome in the lobby, to the stunning presentation of the dishes (the first of which was waiting for us upon arrival, and nearly brought me to tears), everything was exceptional. The staff was attentive and funny—but not overbearing, the design and finishes were artistic and upscale, and the attention to my severe gluten allergy was impeccable and without compromise. Having dined at other Michelin-starred restaurants and been impressed, I can say this experience was on another level. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity. Already planning to return during future seasons to experience the farm’s evolving menu and bring friends who will appreciate the care and creativity poured into Single Thread.

Charming Hallmark town, meals and inn that exceeded expectations (although still had a little room for improvement), and the delight of walking upstairs instead of driving home after a Michelin experience was truly special. The room had amazingly tall ceilings, a Theragun massager, Japanese toilets (yet flimsy small bathrobes, no laundry bag, and high tech light panels that were too bright at night). Also the Study common space was closed during our visit, unfortunately, and they never came to do the evening turn down as expected.The meal was spectacular, from its floral showstopping beginning to the tastes and service throughout. Save room for the amazing and included Japanese breakfast the next morning. What a highlight experience.

Wonderful experience overall.  We went it in for lunch during the holidays; 2 vegetarians, one pescatarian and one everything.  All of us were mightily pleased with the food, ambiance and service.  The wine selection is phenomenal to supplement any food served.

I've been to a lot of fancy Michelin-starred restaurants, and SingleThread was a bit of a let-down. I'm not sure I'd go back.

The 10-course tasting menu was a symphony of flavors and textures, each dish a work of art that delighted both the eyes and the palate.. The chefs really know their stuff.

However, the entire experience got off to a rocky start. We arrived 20 minutes early, and were simply directed to the rooftop to wait. We were left there unattended, with no one taking our order or even acknowledging our presence, despite their prior assurances. It felt as though we were completely invisible.

While the rooftop offered a pleasant view, the lack of service created an awkward and uncomfortable atmosphere. We were left standing there, feeling ignored, which dampened our spirits for the rest of the evening.

The food remained undeniably delicious, and the complimentary champagne was a kind gesture to compensate for the initial misstep. However, it wasn't enough to completely erase the disappointment of the poor start. After all, we were celebrating our anniversary, and the experience as a whole felt like a letdown.

If you're looking for a truly special Michelin-starred experience, I'd say skip SingleThread. The food is great, but the service and atmosphere are just not up to par.
