Finally got the chance to try this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to our expectations. While we really enjoy Edmund’s Oast beer, the restaurant side didn’t make the same impression. The food was good, and the portions were generous, but something felt missing. My wife ordered the fried catfish with grits, which was the standout dish of the night. My son and I shared the whole chicken, with one half original and the other half Korean style. The original was underwhelming, but the Korean-style chicken was packed with flavor and heat. As for the sides—rice and beans, collard greens, and pasta salad—they were good but nothing particularly memorable.

The service wasn’t bad, just a bit off and felt a little strange. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and I can see why reservations are necessary. Overall, I’d rate it a 4.5. It’s a solid spot, but we didn’t leave feeling like it was somewhere we’d come back to.

Came in as a group of 8 (4 kids) and had a great time. Amazing outdoor and indoor space. I love how dark and moody the inside is. We sat at a big booth and our server was so on top of it. I loved the French 75, it’s a clean and crisp cocktail. We shared the hummus & pita and the pimento cheese as apps. For the entree I ordered the spicy Korean meatballs and WOW - they had such a good kick to them. So much flavor.

We didn’t get a chance to dine in. We had a few beers outside. They are well known in Charleston in fact most dinner and upscale formal places have one of their brew always on the menu. So if you miss them you can always get at a restaurant nearby. My favorite was their Ale and that blew me away. Their trademark signature brew is the one to go for  - Burning Daylight is ❤️❤️❤️ I also tried the Summer Ale

Love love love this restaurant. I've been a few times for work gatherings and with the family. The service is amazing, staff is one of the best around town, drinks are tasty and the food is always delicious.

I highly recommend stopping by and trying the meatballs while they have them. I'm not normally a meatball person, but these were the best ones I've ever had. Everything on their menu is delicious.

I am going to do my best to put into words how unforgettably amazing my experience at Edmund Oast was on Thanksgiving.
This year, 2024, I was going to be spending my first Thanksgiving ever alone and honestly, was pretty down about it. I wasn’t able to travel to see family this year so decided to do some research and find a spot to go solo, which can be intimidating if not the right spot, which Edmund’s was made for. I was scrolling through Facebook and saw an ad for the Thanksgiving buffet here and decided this was a great spot as I knew their outdoor patio would be open and looked to be spacious, which was good because I was going to be bringing my two dogs with me (never truly fully alone if your dogs are with you right?).
Thanksgiving came and I put my dogs in their best bandanas and me in my best fall clothes and headed over here, only to immediately be greeted by wonderful staff and people outside. The atmosphere was beyond warm, welcoming, kind. The kind of atmosphere you end up spending hours there and not a second of those on your phone, and that’s just what happened.
Now let’s get to the food. I cannot express how amazing every single thing in the buffet was. Each course, each plate, each and every aspect of the food took my breath away. The fried chicken was so crunchy and flavorful, the pineapple casserole was the perfect combination of sweet and salty, the prime rib. Lord. The prime rib itself was to die for and the peppered crust…. I peaked. The dogs also enjoyed the prime rib and turkey very much. I could go into detail about every single thing I tried, that’s how memorable the food was. And of course the drinks and bartenders outside were beyond amazing.
So thank you, Edmund Oast. I will be shouting your name from rooftops and you now have started a new tradition for myself. Every thanksgiving, I will be here.
