Looks imposing and challenging to climb..  Can't wait to make it to the top

Climbed it twice in a month!  The first time was by myself a few hours after a big early morning thunderstorm..  Lake Como Rd was essentially a flowing stream, and water was seeping from the Hourglass section.  The second time was a dry day with just a trickle down the Hourglass feature..  Dry was definitely safer, though both times were equally exciting!  The Hourglass is really a very small section of the overall trail and not even the hardest section..  The most difficult part of the climb was coming down the scree gully just off Lake Como road!

One of the harder of the 14ers out there. We did the traverse across to Blanca which was very spicy. The hour glass was fun and challenging but the rock fall is serious. Lake como and the Bassein surrounding is beautiful and would be fun even without going up the mountains.

We climbed Little Bear early in the morning on a hot summer day in late July of 2018 and experienced no trickling water whatsoever in the Hourglass section.  The Spring Fire had barely begun. Visibility was excellent. That changed the next day. I cannot believe somebody would start a fire and then end up scorching 100,000 acres of beautiful land.
