Shame on me for giving Megabus a 3rd chance. I will never book another ticket with this company again. The novelty of cheap tickets does not outweigh the pure aggravation you will subject yourself to waiting for busses that are hours late and dealing with drivers who have no sense of urgency. Do yourself a favor and take the train. Like others have said, my most recent experiences with Megabus have been terrible. Not so much because no bus in the last 3 occasions have been on-time (last time the bus was 1 hour late) but mostly because of the nonchalant attitude of the drivers. Simply said, they don't seem to care about their passengers at all. This says to me that Megabus as a company does not incentivize their drivers to be customer oriented (i.e. through training, performance monitoring and/or compensation). Unfortunately those who can't take a train will be subject to Peter Pan/ Greyhound which have similar flaws (at least with those options you have roofed bus stops).

I sent the message below to "customer service" but did not receive a reply. The punkish behavior of the bus driver speaks volumes about his employer. I will never ride megabus again. I'd rather drive or walk. Concord Coach rocks!!! I wish that they serviced Hartford, CT :(. Hello. I purchased a one-way ticket from Hartford, CT to Boston, Ma. I realized that I left my ticket printout at home while en route for the April 25, 9:20 a.m. departure (on Columbus Street). I explained to the bus driver that I had left my ticket at home. The surly driver was not the least bit sympathetic, twice calling me a liar! I understand how it might look to someone who obviously is incapable of accurately assessing the character of another human. My reservation number was 8-4023-042517-M51R-0920-HAR-BOS. Last year I planed a trip to Philadelphia using Megabus as our means of transportation My granddaughter and I Took mega bus from new haven ct to nyc then a connect bus to Philadelphia with what was suppose to be a two hour layover in nyc Worst time management service ever Bus sat in New Haven Ct for half hour then got to NYC with 15 min to get to next bus for Philadelphia ran from 34th and 7th Ave to 34th and 12th Ave, it was going to be a leisurely walk for my granddaughter and I instead it turned into a crazy ass mad dash across mid town manhattan. My granddaughter was so very exhausted. Disgusting! Coming back home I was terrified of trying to do a connecting bus so I stayed in Philadelphia with my family until I could get a ride back home. Megabus didn't refund my money for the return trip but gave me an expiration date

The good: Megabus provides a low cost fare. There is a bathroom on board. The bus was clean. The bad: They were 45 minutes late. I wish they had texted me that they would be late, they did not communicate. A fellow traveler called in and was able to determine there was a delay. I thought there would be on board Wi-Fi, there was not. The boarding process is a bit disorganized. Summary: This was not a horrible experience. The folks we were traveling with on this 3 hour ride were an interesting assortment of people. College students, a guy from Poland visiting US Cities, people traveling for work, a woman with her child going on vacation, and an elderly woman on her way to a funeral. If you are on a tight budget, this is a viable, safe option. I recommend you dress in comfortable clothes, bring a snack and water and have the contact information for the bus line with you. Before you go stand outside at the bus stop, call and see what the departure time will be.

Note to self: never take Mega Bus. They claim to have working electrical outlets and wifi on their busses, but 9 times out of 10 either one or both of these amenities are broken. I'm sitting on a bus right now with puddles of white smelly liquid in the stairwells, broken outlets and a wifi signal that is so weak it is literally impossible to connect to it. I'm not saying these amenities should be standard on a bus ride. But if you are a company that is using these things to entice customers, then you should keep these options in good working order. I will be choosing alternate bus service from now on. Mega bus is all hype.

Never on time guarantee fulfilled yet again! We just stopped in Hartford for an hour because of the seatbelt holding the bus together; now we seem to be leaving and nothing has changed. Thanks Megabus! 115 minutes of a scenic New England Capital bus depot free as their holiday gift to me!

I have travelled in Asia, Mexico, and Eastern Europe and never ridden on anything as disgusting and gross as Megabus. It may be cheap but but it's not worth it. If you have any other choice take it. Cramped crowded seats. No place to put carryons, and the bathroom is disgusting swill of sloshed port a potty liquid.

First off, logistics: the Hartford stop is on Columbus Blvd, just before Talcott St. It's also the stop for the DASH and CTTransit lines. There is a Megabus sign about 25 ft away from the DASH/CTTransit signs. I've posted a photo of the stop. We got the 12:45pm bus to Boston on a Saturday. It arrived at 1:28pm. We called their customer service line at 1:00pm to see where the bus was at, since there was no status online. They asked us to call back if the bus is more then 30 min late. Ok, no prob. Called back at 1:16. They said they would now send an email to the driver asking what was the delay estimate. Seemed a bit wierd to me, but hey, there we go. There is a Hertz at the corner, which was our fallback plan. Luckily the bus arrived 10 min later. It was labeled Dattco. We are on the bus, the driver is nice, the bus is clean and quiet. We are looking forward to a pleasant evening in Boston!

I would give this service zero stars if possible. The customer service is outsourced and have no information or ability to help customers. My first Megabus ticket will be my only (New Haven - New York City). In this case, I was stranded at the New Haven bus station for 3 hours. The bus to New York City never came, and Megabus customer service had no information, other than reassuring me that the bus had not arrived at New Haven yet, and was still en-route due to traffic issues. Four others were also stranded, and by 3 hours later (1pm), without any help or information from customer service, we finally bought train tickets into the city. While waiting for Megabus, its customer service informed us that there was a 1pm bus coming, but that we could not board it without purchasing an additional ticket, and also confirmed that our bus had never arrived. I assumed we would receive a refund, but Megabus customer service again offered no information, other than that the GPS stated the bus had arrived on time, and we'd simply missed it, somehow. We were outside waiting, and no bus came. Apparently, this is common with Megabus. You can find more accounts of this occurrence online. To me, this amounts to fraud. It's a $22 ticket, but I can understand how they make profits, since customer service (and actual service) is essentially nonexistent. I'm sure when the bus actually arrives, it's great. But that's a huge gamble. I'll never take Megabus again. Ever. Because if the bus doesn't arrive, or has any issues, you are never seeing your money again. You just end up in customer service hell, for all eternity.

Terrible. Wifi never works, electrical outlet are non functional. Bus is consistently 1.5h late. On average 6h for a boston/nyc ride if it is not raining. Dreadful experience. The smell of detergents will make you nauseated. In nyc, you will be aksed to wait for the bus on the pavement with no protection from the elements. Take the train
