Mama Nena Food Truck is worth looking out for. It appears from their Instagram page that they started business in March 2022. I had never heard of it until I saw it on the GastroPark schedule for this evening. I ordered what they called "Fried Calamari" (but it was really more like Misto Fritto because it also had fried vegetables), and Chicken Pintxo with red chimichurri. Service was friendly and efficient. My Dear . . . were those some of the most tender chicken kebab pieces I've ever had. You shouldn't be able to do that in a Food Truck. I'm not sure I've had more tender, good juicy chicken in any venue. It was layered with soft onions and peppers, and the red chimichurri was a good vinegary flavor bomb. Just wow! The fried calamari was great too. Crispy breading. Tender squid. I loved the fried thin squash, zucchini and mushrooms in the mix as well. It came with a cold red sauce, which sort of reminded of a mix between marinara and cocktail sauce. That was tasty too. I'll return to Mama Nena very soon to see if they can keep this up. #impressed

Mama Nena Food Truck has always been a staple at GastroPark. Whether I'm there at daytime or in the evening it's always there with its beaming colors, ready to feed the guests. It wasn't until last night when I tried something from their menu for the first time. I got the Fried Calamari. The little basket was $9.99. We had to wait for no more than 15 minutes for the buzzer to go off. Unfortunately these were a disappointment. The calamari was very oily and cold. There were also some fried zucchini, and maybe some peppers. The red sauce for dipping was good, but would've been better if the calamari was decent. There was a vinegary under taste which I didn't mind. The bottom line is it didn't taste or look fresh or appetizing. There might be other tasty options at Mama Nena.

I wanted to share feedback about my lunch today. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I ordered the Brussel sprouts and the chicken pinchos -- the food was extremely oily and didn't taste fresh. I only ate a small amount before throwing it out, and I actually felt sick afterward. This was a waste of my lunch break, and definitely not enjoyable. I really hope the quality can be improved, because right now the food is not at the level it should be.

I judge a Spanish food spot base on thier empanadas and this place sets the bar high! We got the beef empanadas and they are packed full of flavor. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Just made to perfection!

Awesome stuff! Definitely recommend the steak (super tasty, light, flavorful) and the massive empanadas! Reminds me of Barcelona tapas. If you can find them at the talcott collective, that's an added perk too.

Caught this truck at hopmeadow brewing company this past weekend and I'm glad I did. Just needed a little snack so we got an order of the chicken and beef empanadas. Usually I don't like empanadas because often times they aren't really fresh or to doughy ect but these were outstanding. The flavor of the empanadas were top notch and they were so light and fluffy and clearly home made. If I see this truck at another brewery I absolutely will be ordering more.

I just had Mama Nena's and I was impressed but not just with the food! I originally ordered the Potato Tortilla, not realizing it had egg in it (even though he explained it to me but I was out of it). I can't digest egg so I let the owner know and apologized because I didn't catch it the first time. He was so kind and offered to make me something else. I asked for the Patatas Catalanas and said that I would like to pay for it because it was my mistake but he was insistent that I wouldn't pay for the switch. He did not have to go above and beyond because it was my mistake but he chose to and that says a lot. He truly cares about his customers and his food. The Patatas Catalanas were incredible. The tomato sauce was nice and warm but also had so much flavor to it. Highly recommend this place!
