This is such a special theater. We just saw Frozen here. The performers were phenomenal with great voices. I'm amazed at the talent of these young singers especially the actresses playing Elsa and Anna. The child playing Olaf was so funny. My 3 year old daughter loved the show and can't stop singing. I love the size of the theater. Because it's a small theater there aren't any bad seats. Parking is also right across the street and it's free. For $18 to $20 a ticket and free easy parking I much rather come here than deal with seeing a show in NYC or Philly for five times the cost or more. The lights and sound were surprisingly good especially considering the size of the theater and the performers being children. This truly is a gem. I can't wait to see more shows here.

I took the kids to see Jack and the Beanstalk on Saturday, April 18, my first trip to this theatre. The acting and singing were pretty good, enough to keep my 6 and 11 year old children completely absorbed. The sets and costumes looked professional. I liked that the cast members were available after the show in a large room off to the side of the theatre for pictures, autographs, etc. We got a signature from the actress who played the cow, one of the better bovine performances I've ever seen. :) The show was about 90 minutes long, including an intermission where you could get water, juice boxes, and cookies. Tickets for this show were $10 each, and there was plenty to keep the parents interested in the show as well. In the front, the building looks like a large Delaware Ave mansion (which it probably was), and behind the house section is a large theatre attached, able to seat about 150 people (guesstimate). The chairs are not attached to the floor, and several of the rear rows are raised up, but its not uncommon to have to perch a smaller child on your lap. All the seating is general admission. The Theatre is located right at the top of the Rte 52 exit off I-95 southbound. A pretty charming experience all around. My kids want to go back to the Winnie the Pooh show in May. A much more rewarding time than a trip to the movies, at about the same price (or less when you consider popcorn and drink prices).

I am a huge fan of the Delaware Children's Theater. I have taken my five year old daughter to probably four or five shows now over the course of the last year - Shrek, Madagascar, Annie, Alice in Wonderland Rock-N-Roll, maybe one other one - and we have always had a truly special time. The tickets are inexpensive and easy to book online and pick up. The shows are funny, appropriate and the performances are always good. I like DCT better than many of the other Children's theaters in the region, be in Main Line or even Philly. The quality of the shows is simply better. The meet and greet with pictures and autographs after the show is also always a big hit. Easy parking, great location near the highway. These guys do a great job, and we will absolutely be back for future shows. Thanks for a great time every time!

What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with my son! So we were invited by a cast member, but nonetheless had a typical experience. It's located in the house on a corner. Its location is prime, right off the highway. I really liked that there was an officer stopping traffic for the families to cross the street as it's a major roadway and there is no parking lot with the building. If possible get your tickets on line as they are cheaper. You can use your phone or print the ticket for entry. I did not do this and paid $33 dollars for 1 adult and 1 child (pricing was appropriate and expected). Seats are first come first served with some reserved seating. The entire production with an intermission was about 90 minutes. During intermission refreshments are available for a charge, but it's fairly cheap. It was perfect for my little guy. I will most likely attend another show. Please advised this is not a place for infants. They are recording the show and it's not a large theater.(And noooo I did not bring my little guy! I just thought I'd throw that tidbit out there!) There is a meet and greet after the show for all attendees. We took photos and got autographs. It was a very welcoming experience.

RJ and I brought the peeps to see Charlottes Web. It was a cute production, great for kids. The play was the perfect length of time for a child's attention span.

Took my kids to see Mary Poppins yesterday 12/6/15. It was a great production for a children's theater. It really felt like it rivaled some professional productions I saw in Philadelphia. Definitely a very high quality performance for a family/kids theater. The only complaint I have is that the seats are on a flat floor which makes it difficult to see past large adult heads. We adjusted and made it work but it was not very comfortable. However for the price of tickets and quality of performance you cannot beat value anywhere! Good job guys.

We love the Delaware Children's Theatre! My oldest is 25 and my youngest is 6 so I have been a patron of DCT for MANY years. It is a great place for kids to attend a performance, and also a great place for them to be in a show. It is also a great place for a field trip. I brought my son's cub scout den to see Peter Pan this past year and they reserved us a block of good seats and let us take pictures on stage with the characters after the show! Check their website for auditions and upcoming shows. Call the office if you want to arrange to bring a group.

Took my 5 and 8 year old nieces to see the wizard of oz on 12/15/13 and will definitely return for future shows. The performance was very professional compared to what I expected from a childrens theatre. The kids were so entertained! And the prices top off our experience! $15 for ticket, $5 for glow rings for both and $1 each for a drink with cookies! Also you got to meet the cast for autographs/pictures afterwards! That is what a kid outing should be like not like Wells Fargo center who charges $15 for a popcorn. Take note that seats are first come first serve if you are picky. We arrived 45 mins early and got seats in the middle of the theatre.

This theater is great for all ages. It is one of the oldest building in Wilmington. The productions are certainly worth the price of admission. It is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I have seen about 10 shows and have never been disappointed. Every child should be introduced to musical theater and Delaware Children's Theater is a venue that will be sure to please!

Delaware Children's Theatre offers some of the best performances and production values in the area. Everything is kid-appropriate, so bring the whole family! Ticket prices are not too bad, especially compared to movie theater tickets, and there are cookies and juice boxes available at intermission for a dollar. You get to meet the whole cast after the show. If you are interested in performing with the theatre, all auditions are open and posted on the website with helpful tips for preparing your audition. New people are always accepted and welcomed! Those interested in helping out can earn community service hours by ushering, helping with sets, or working back stage. It really is a community!
