Whoa, you have to visit this charming speakeasy. I was in Delaware for my best friend's birthday and we had an epic itinerary for the day that ended at Hummingbird to Mars. We were a group of four on a Saturday night. They offer both cocktails and food here. Any drink can be made into a mocktail which is nice. Our server was incredibly kind and passionate about mixology. He gave us a rundown of the menu along with recommendations. We were at the end of their summer specials menu. Our birthday girl fell in love with one of the drinks on it. We all loved our drinks. I was craving something cucumbery (had Pimms cup on my mind from other bar we went to) and the slight return cocktail was perfect for me. The cucumber flavor was really strong, which was exactly what I was looking for. The birthday girl's husband adored his tiki drink, excursions, that had an interactive element to it. And her other friend got a really nice lavender cocktail called A Walk in the Garden. I highly recommend coming to this cool speakeasy. It's great for groups, there is a lot of seating. We even had live jazz music! It's up a flight of stairs and you ring an unassuming door's bell to get up there.

Cool spot, found out about it on Yelp. This spot isn't crazy advertised, and unless you know about it, you'd have no reason to walk down this alleyway. Visited on a Thursday evening, and wasn't really sure what to expect. Very nondescript entrance, steel door on a block wall, simply marked with a hummingbird-I didn't tell my guest where we were going and she was a little apprehensive until we got upstairs. Ring the bell and the host will ask you what size party and greet you by answering the door. You will be led into the restaurant up a candlelit set of stairs and enter the seating area-Bar seats maybe eight. We ordered a couple of drinks and a few apps, and dined while live music was being played-Massimo Brutto played/sang mostly standards from the 40s and 50s-really good vibe. Heck of a drink menu and plenty of food options-great spot, will definitely return.

The quintessential speakeasy! The entrance is in the back of the main road and has a discreet hummingbird on the door with a bell. You are immediately greeted via intercom and then someone comes and gets you to escort you to your table or the bar. There is a 6 seat bar and two small areas of seating that are table/chairs/benches. From the moment you walk in the ambiance is on point with moody decor and lighting. There is a large candlelit staircase that you climb to get up to the speak easy. Highly recommend reservations. We arrived at 5:30 and they opened at 5 so we were able to get a seat at the bar. All the tables were reserved. Parking along Delaware Ave could be tricky as there were no spots. We were lucky that we drove behind Catherine Rooney's (which is connected/sister site to this place) and found a spot along where the bank & townhouses are. From the moment we were greeted at the intercom we were constantly being checked on by the super friendly bartender and other staff. Such a friendly atmosphere. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the cocktails and the food menu. The service alone is worth a visit here. The cocktails were excellent. We tried the Sidecar, Corpse Survivor #2, and a Brooklyn. All were beyond amazing. They have an extensive menu of craft cocktails that someone obviously put lots of thought and intent into to make sure that the spirits complement and elevate the concoctions. Even if you are unsure, the bartender is more than able to help you with making a decision based on what you normally drink or flavor profiles that you like. We ordered the baked burrata (YUM) and the lamb meatballs (YUM). The food was just as elevated as the cocktails. The menu has wonderful selections that vary from small plates to salads, as well as more substantial entrees. The apps were so good!! We didn't order any other food as the portions were generous. This is a terrific experience and well worth a visit. We will be back to try more fantastic cocktails and delicious food. Well done Hummingbird to Mars!!

This is one of those spots that isn't for everyone but for those that are into the Speakeasy vibe you will love it from the moment you ring the bell. Make reservations especially if you want an early dinner and to be seated by the time live music starts at 9. I've known about this place for years but just patronized for the first time last month. I've now been here 3 times in less than a month, 1st time solo, 2nd time a date and last night with my college age daughter. I sat at the bar the first time thankfully I was able to get a seat there arriving about 930 pm. The 2nd time we arrived about 830 pm without a reservation and there was a 45 minute wait, we went somewhere near by until getting the text for our table. For last night, I emailed around 2 pm to reserve a table at 8 pm but was told needed to do 830 pm. We arrived rang the bell confirmed we had a reservation and was promptly seated. The street tacos with shrimp are a hearty appetizer especially if you aren't sharing. They certainly have authentic taco flavor. Honestly there isn't anything that I have not enjoyed here. This isn't the place to come if you are looking to have many cocktails as these cocktails are truly crafted and it takes time to make. You will be waiting for your drinks but at least those that I have had been worth it.

Food: Food was ok; solid bar snacks, but that's not why I was there. Restrooms: N/A Didn't check Parking: Street parking. Value: Good! Experience: Great for a date, I enjoyed myself, will be back. I had a nice time, love the vibe. Fun to dress up and go here for a few drinks and enjoy the live music later on. It was busy. Sorry, I can't tell you where it is or the password to get in, until I know that you are cool and not with the Prohis!

Cute spot above Rooney's in Trolley. You're able to make reservations by emailing them. When we first arrived, we were very excited. The space is cozy and has an old time vibe. They have live music on the weekends. The food was pretty good - bar food. Unfortunately, the service with the drinks was horrible. There were around 6 tables in the entire place and it took 25 minutes to get our first round of drinks. After we finished those, we ordered another round and timed it, it took 37 minutes the second time. We understood that they are craft cocktails and take time but when you're paying $19-$22 for a drink, waiting for over 30 minutes is not the best experience. Wouldn't go back unless you're okay with casual having one drink.

Entrance was awesome. Location, location, location! Cozy table and couch seatings or at the bar. Ambiance was perfectly speak easy. Mushroom pizza was excellent, drinks were delicious. Waiter was kind, attentive, but not only so.

I've always had a great experience at this speakeasy! From the moment you step into the place to when you leave, it's a real vibe! I really love the live music on weekends. The server was very informative and helpful and kind. The pizza and fries were both flavored well and perfectly cooked! The drinks were delicious!! We asked for the prettiest drinks and these were recommended. I loved my lavender one. They also had a dessert one we drank at the end of dinner, which my fiancé loved!!!
