CHEF D!!!! holy moly!!!! i took a bite of the chop cheese and just about died in bliss!!! how is this healthy?!? but it is!!! you can tell by how it feels! chop cheese with kale in it, perfectly massaged beforehand so it's delicious!!! like ...kale in a chop cheese is a bold move and Chef pulled it off PERFECTLY. the veggies in it, peppers, etc were perfectly cooked crispy fresh and flavored. i mean... WHAT. how. WHAT. can't wait to come back!!! also, being from nyc my partner and i do try vegan chop cheese wherever we can. we've done the big names. but ROOTEDAF is the one!!!! who knew DELAWARE of all places would have it? PS!! they don't put sugar/cane processed sugar in their beverages!!! they use natural blue agave instead. so we tried the sorrel. (so hard to find a healthy version!!) and YES!!!! delicious!!!!

Rooted AF was great! I don't typically eat strictly vegan, but I decided to give it a try because their buffalo cauliflower bites looked delicious and wow, they did not disappoint! Perfectly crispy with amazing sauce on the side, as well as a kale side salad. The staff member who took my order, which I have a feeling was the owner, was incredibly kind, hand-delivering our food to the table and helping me navigate some menu favorites since it was my first time. The food hall itself is clean, modern, and has a steady lunch flow with plenty of great options, with this spot definitely being a good one!

I tried this during HBCU week and I was so happy to have a vegan option for food. It was fresh hot and delicious I wish I could've brought more back with me to California. Highly recommend for any folks looking for vegan options! You must try the Pinky Cole! The staff and owner were also very friendly!

Wanted to check out Chancery Court. Floor looks like it hasn't been mopped in a while. However our RootedAF experience was great! Loved the service! Had a great discussion about what we should order. Enjoyed the meal and drinks! (Black AF and Malibu Sunset)

Whenever I stop by, the service is always pleasant, and the food is consistently fresh and tasty. It's a lovely spot within a food hall, perfect for a quick bite to eat. I especially enjoy their juice options--the charcoal lemonade is fantastic!

Located in "the CHANCERY MARKET Food Hall & Bar" (i.e. food court) with indoor as well as outdoor patio seating, this is a comfortable spot to get a meal. Convenient to 95, you're only a few miles off the interstate. Maps will take you to the parking garage. We opted for a parking meter not knowing parking would be validated inside. Good to know for next time. My son and I got vegan chicken cheesesteaks. We both found our meal delicious and satisfying. The price of food has gone up everywhere hence a tad more than I expected. But no matter, the friendliness of the servers, the cherry ambience, and the quality of the food, (as well as it being all vegan, sparing us any headaches clarifying the diet) make this a place we will keep on our radar when taking this particular road trip route in the future. Ki was simply amazing! She was kind and had an wonderful spirit! We will be back to visit often. We came from Newark to support this black owned business! The Pinky Cole cheesesteak was PHENOMENAL!!! The food is out of this world! Looks like maybe one should avoid the Jicama wrap, but otherwise, everything else I've seen and had is excellent. The beef and cheese empanadas are out of this world! I mean they alone are worth having as your only meal and traveling from Philadelphia just to have- they are that could. Juicy "meat", flavorful dough- just all around crispy and tender and oh-so-good! You don't have to be a vegetarian to go ecstatic about this. It's one of Wilmington's latest best kept secrets. Some may say the preparation time can be like 10-30 minutes because there is so much care to the food and a lot of orders. This place could definitely use some more staff than one person if it's feasible. The strawberry crunch cupcake is flavorful and familiar cupcake textures. The samplers I had at an event beforehand doesn't do justice to capture the quality of flavor and texture of the cupcakes served here. Strong strawberry flavor with a sliver of jam (not too much but just right) and the flavored crumbs complementing the cupcake so well. The smoothie was a healthy blend of different juices and I couldn't have enough of it. In a market that typically only locals might visit because Wilmington doesn't stand out as a city to many, the market itself is beautiful with local musicians who do acoustic performances of your favorite modern, 90s or older cover (you don't usually get to choose), and maybe some local originals depending on the band. Clean facility, visually appealing, clean and plentiful bathrooms, finding the location can be a bit tricky as the windy roads to find downtown can be a bit awkward to an outsider. The garage actually has 3 levels and not two levels like I originally thought, as the basement level "entrance" is at the end of the ground level parking. Don't drive? "No problem!" Take that d@m# regional rail to the Wilmington stop, and then walk those 18 minutes or so to the other side of town to eat here. You won't regret it! When you go in, if you don't notice the elevator to your right, there is another one across the hallway on your left, then if you took the one on your left, you have to cross the big lobby area to get to the market. Also, I received a Chancery discount card at a Yelp Elite event and it had a QR code on it. The code did not apply a discount at all and RootAF told me only certain vendors took this discount and they weren't one of them. The food here is too good and also of anyone needs to get docked, it is the Chancery market for such a gimmicky card and not RootedAF. You know if it's a bit hard to get to and locals are still coming out that it HAS to be good. Rooted AF fits right in! 11/17/23 addition: #ThankYouThursday for having a place that offers quality, flavorful food at reasonable prices and even in a less noticed venue for non-locals. Making a healthy alternative delicious and not feeling like I am eating medicine!
