Taco Grande was recommended to me by a colleague and did not disappoint. The restaurant was large, open and lively, especially during dinner. Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. As for food, we ordered the Southwestern Chicken Fajitas and the Roasted Cauliflower Tacos, both were delicious and well portioned. Of course, no good Mexican spot is complete without complimentary chips and salsa! Taco Grande definitely delivered on all fronts and we will certainly be back.

OMG what incredible service ... our server went out of her way to make us feel great in this welcoming Mexican restaurant with a great view! The Wilmington River Walk offers visitors a beautiful venue to stroll before or after a meal and Taco Grande has delicious affordable family-friendly meals awaiting you. The menu is not overwhelming but offers an excellent selection of options. It all starts with the traditional chips and "salsa " Taco Grande 's salsa has a nice but not overwhelming kick to it. The chips were decent. Although we chose water the beverage menu is impressive and we could see other diners clearly enjoying their drinks of choice. Our meals were yummy. The burrito bowl offered a nice combination of flavors and my enchiladas were good plus the beans were well above average. The only disappointment was the rice ... eh. So, a great view, superb service, good food, and an opportunity to walk along the river should get you headed to Taco Grande!

The place is huge. Bountiful outdoor seating for you to take in the weather. The vibes in the place are immaculate with live music at 5pm on a Thursday Staff are very attentive. I have two kids so this definitely does not go unnoticed The food sadly is not very good but it is by design/big fish grill owners being cheap For example throw some more cheese on the nachos! I ate the top layer and threw out the bottom 90% of chips with nothing on them Put some raw onions on the side for those birria tacos and quesadillas. Let us get some crunch! Maybe some cilantro to make it feel more authentic Mexican street corn was perfect The free salsa and chips is a nice touch. I don't mind watery salsa but make it spicy as hell My oldest daughter's chicken tacos were also perfect This place is conveniently located right next door to the children's museum. It's a nice way to kill a few hours then stop by for lunch or dinner before dragging to kids home for nap/bedtime

Went to taco grande for happy our and enjoyed a $7 margarita! This is one of the only places around that give free chips and delicious salsa so I love it! The fajitas were good and came with a a few sides, I wish it came with beans or I would have ordered some! Decent portion! I sat at the bar and they were very friendly and attentive! Very dead on a Tuesday but that's to be expected!

If you love Tex Mex this is the place for you ! Everything was perfect in every way. Festive Mexican Themed ambiance. Outstanding menu with varied choices. You get complimentary fresh chips, creative drink menu with Margaritas , XX Amber. Got the wet Burrito which was fantastic. Mexi Corn appetizer is phenomenal. Waitress was terrific. They even had live music. Go Here !!!

Ordered from the Hotel Next Door. Chicken Tortilla soup was delicious. With nacho crispies. Shrimp tacos w rice and side of beans. Yummy!

Well if you LOVE Taco Bell quality food, being ignored at the bar & THE worst tasting Marguerita ever made, this is the place for you. The 4 of us ordered a pitcher of Marg's and the pitcher arrived so full of ice, that it was impossible to pour out of the container into the bell jar glasses. When we did finish spilling & pouring it was less than 3 servings of drinks, not the bargain we were hoping for. Did they make it better? NOPE. The rice & beans that accompanied the dishes were clearly out of a can and not freshly made. They arrived cold & under seasonsed, Did they make it better? NOPE. The queso with a lump of meat added had exactly one tablespoon of protein in the dish for $17 and the chicken was undercooked and flavorless. No one ever came to ask how the dishes were after they were delivered (which was quickly) or we would have had a chance to have them make it again. I had to chase down someone who appeared to be the manager just standing around with their thumb up their rear end to get my buddy a 2nd Modelo. We take walks down by the riverfront regularly and have walked by numerous times, it appears that we should have just kept walking again this time, to DEL PEZ. It must be the extended family of the owner that is writing all of the upbeat reviews but if anybody thinks this is what Mexican food should be I'm truly sad for them. Fool me once...................

Overall not impressed. Location is great, very open and doesn't feel too packed even when it is busy. Service was also pretty good but the food just wasn't what I personally would've hoped for as it definitely caters to the "Americanized-Hispanic cuisine" crowd. Chips and salsa were brought out however the consistency of the salsa was very watery. The food itself wasn't bad, but again far from authentic. The filet mignon fajitas had tender, well-seasoned steak with a bed of sautéed peppers and onion. On the side - flour tortillas, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream. I also ordered a single taco Al pastor that although was good, wasn't the best I've ever had. The shrimp tacos have the same story and unfortunately weren't well presented or filled with much of anything.

Ambiance is great. We received salsa and ordered some drinks at the bar. The salsa may have been the worst we've ever had. Literally. Casually mentioned to staff... staffer is new, but said, "it's free and you get what you pay for". What? Really? This is supposed to entice us to order? We got guac, which was decent, but Santa Fe's blows this away. Drinks were good, but service was a little non attentive. As such, we didn't order food. Meh.
