Have heard nothing but great things about this quintessential dc spot. Finally checked it out on a snowy day & after putting our name down & waiting 45 min, we got seated in a cozy spot by the front windows. Can honestly say the atmosphere is superb & loved it. The bread-10/10 and the french fries were good. All i heard though was that the burger was the best in dc…um not in my opinion. Just a very very standard, basic burger. Would not get it again, but would go back & try something else

We both had French toast which wasn’t for us because it was very sweet. Nevertheless, someone who likes very sweet will love it.

They put a lot of effort into their food.

Our waitress was amazing and patient.

I had a caramelized croissant in the shape of a muffin and it was amazing.

Great breads.

So much bacon as a side.

Charming, rustic, and bustling restaurant serving delicious French classics. I’m not usually a big fan of French restaurants, but this was the best meal I had during my weekend excursion to DC. Every dish was perfect, and pushed the boundaries of how great these dishes classic dishes could get. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or living in DC, and I recommend getting reservations due to how busy they (rightfully) get. Thanks, Le Diplomate!

Super high energy spot! Love the people watching! My favorite cocktail was the Clouseau - fig infused bourbon, lime, plum bitters. The Warm Mushroom Tart, Steak Tartare and Warm Shrimp Salad were fantastic! Would definitely like to visit again to try more dishes.

To be honest i had high hopes about this place. Taste was really mediocre nothing special. Onion soup and profiterole was the best among others i had. Steak frites( we asked medium well) but came dryer and with not much taste, hamburger was better but nothing to be dying for. Atmosphere is amazing service is good too, maybe for lunch or breakfast items might be better. For dinner i do not see myself coming here back again. Felt little bit overrated. Steak portion was too small for $40 plate most of it was full with french fries.
