What an excellent new place to try out in DC. I had heard a lot about the Minetta in NYC and it definitely lived up to its reputation.

Amazing ambiance and our server was extremely kind and helpful especially with our dietary restrictions.

They gave me a deconstructed burger without the bun since I’m gluten free although there are a couple of other gluten free options as well.

We also got the bone marrow and truly what a delicacy.

Great place for dinner!

We actually did not plan to come to La Minetta Tavern, we had reservations elsewhere but because of street closures we could not get to our destination... what a fortunate turn of events!!  We traveled to NE DC for our second choice, they had already finished dinner service and we found La Minetta whose kitchen was open late!  We had a little trouble finding it as it is off of the main street.  From the outside it looks like it would be a tiny tavern but once you get in there is a beautiful, expansive main dining room.  It is perfect for a romantic dinner or even large business dinners.  The staff was absolutely impeccable.  They welcomed us in, invited us to stay as long as we would like and let us know when the kitchen would be closing.  We sat at a super cute, comfy booth and started a culinary journey.  EVERYTHING was delicious.  For appetizers we shared the butter lettuce salad which was super crisp and fresh and the Yellofin Tuna Crudo which comes with crisps.  That was out of this world.  We were so hungry we didn't even take pictures of the appetizers!  For our mains we had the brook trout which was cooked perfectly and the steak frites which I couldn't try but based on the end result, I would say it was excellent.  For dessert we ordered the chocolate souffle for 2.... it was gigantic and should be for 4!   It was nice and creamy.  That was pretty good but the rest of the food was so delicious that it made it just good.  After dinner our server told us there was a speakeasy upstairs with another menu... the vibe up there was awesome.  We will absolutely be back to enjoy it.   So happy that we "discovered" La Minetta!

Went as an early birthday celebration and had such a wonderful experience! The ambiance was incredible and buzzing. Great service - everyone was very attentive and had fantastic recommendations. The grilled oysters and crab croquettes started the night off strong. The trout and steak frites were both amazing entrees, highly recommend. We hope to come back soon!!

I grabbed a holiday reservation at Minetta Tavern and it was a SCENE!!! Politicians everywhere, hot people that were truly *dressing* everywhere else. Occasionally those circles overlapped but *waves hands* you know. I can’t think of many other places, certainly not restaurants, where people are showing out with this much success.

The service was amazing. The dining room pulses with warmth and conversation. The table next to us leaned in as we sat to brazenly tell us the must orders. The table on our other side arrived after us and became partners in laughter as waiters wiggled between boisterous arm movements from people telling stories and snug tables. You felt like you were at a dinner party you hoped to be invited back to.

My friend and I ordered liberally for two- bone marrow, burger, oysters, drinks, salad, soufflé. The breadbasket? Bottomless and served with butter and sea salt to sprinkle. We got out with $120/ each with tax and tip. No notes.

I loved it so much I returned back the next night with two more friends and left itching to sort how swiftly I can return and try the upstairs bar.

Great service from the moment you walk in. Atmosphere is very lively - if you’re trying for a quiet dinner this is not it. We absolutely loved the atmosphere and think it added to the experience. Food was great and worth the cost.
