A food spot I’d recommend for anyone in DC — whether a new or old resident — and especially if they have a group where people have different tastes.

The restaurants here range from Southern Comfort Food, French pastries, Japanese Ramen, and more than I can list. All of them prepare the food quickly and there’s multiple places to sit, inside and outside the building.

And once you finish eating, you can make your way to the roof for more fun. There’s a rooftop lounge/bar, grass-turf for kids & pets, cozy lawn chairs for reading or soaking up sun, and a great view of Union District waiting for you.

Union Market is a fun destination for a casual meal, especially if you like to try out different kinds of food, as there are so many options from the diverse food vendors here.  If you prefer to sit down and be served, there are a few places that offer table/counter service, but most places you order at their counter and then you can take your food outside to the picnic benches, or there are some tables inside too.  It is also a really fun place to bring out of town guests.  The only negative is it is pretty packed with vendors and can get hectic inside, especially at prime meal time.

Came here to experience Union Market Christmas. Cute vibe. Pretty tree and market. The sunset was beautiful.

What I did not like:
The price in the stalls was exorbitant. Unreasonably so.
There is a food court there. Had Dosa there. It was trash. It was the worst I've ever had.

The icecreams there are amazing.

Pretty good spot to go and get some food they have variety of food inside and they also have tables outside u can sit and eat or just chill.
Spacious,clean and easy to get around. Good shops inside with good courteous people.
The food is good and good price. I just walked around trying something small from everywhere lol haha. definitely a must go to spot.

A great place to visit and grab a bite when in the DC area. Lots of food vendor options. One would be hard pressed not to find something they like. My only critique would be not enough indoor seating spaces.
