We had the best dinner date here. The customer service was exceptional, the food was delicious & our server Cristian was amazing, and the manager John was an absolute joy to meet. We also loved the pianist Julian he was so talented and had a very nice smile. Such an incredible atmosphere we will be back. Everything was top-notch.

Really nice restaurant with great service, but I don’t think the food was exactly worth the price. I had the pork chop with truffles, and lobster tail. The lobster was good, the pork chop was slightly overcooked but not awfully, however, the truffles were very obviously too dated. They weren’t inedible but I wouldn’t have served them. Overall I’d still definitely recommend this restaurant.

I’m usually not one to leave lengthy reviews (especially negative ones), but I recently dined at Chop’s City Grill, and my experience was unfortunately quite mediocre. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was off. The hostess was a bit hostile, which set a negative tone for the evening. They had called to inform me that they couldn’t accommodate our request for outdoor seating (which was far from a problem and we were okay with that), but since I missed the call, we ended up seated in a hidden booth right next to the kitchen.

This spot was far from ideal. Being next to the food runners and expo line made for an awkward atmosphere. Throughout our meal, we felt the eyes of the kitchen staff on us, with cooks laughing and smiling creepily as we tried to enjoy our evening. It was very uncomfortable and detracted from the experience, especially for my friends and I, all aged 19-21.

As for the food, it was underwhelming. While it wasn’t terrible, it certainly didn’t stand out in any way. I had hoped for something special, but was left feeling disappointed. Our waiter, however, was a bright spot in the evening, he was friendly and attentive, but I will say that the only downside to his service was that it took nearly 45-50 minutes for him to take our order. This long wait felt unjustified, especially since it appeared he was more focused on other parties with “more priority”. Which in my opinion is simply unacceptable and should not be tolerated by any paying costumer.

Overall, the service made me feel like we were being treated differently because we were a group of younger women, which was disheartening. I live in NYC and I have never experienced this kind of treatment at any restaurant/in the “fine dining” scene. I suppose it was just a bit odd. Despite my love for many restaurants on 5th Ave, I can’t see myself returning to Chop’s City Grill. It was my first time dinning here and last. It was a disappointing experience overall, and one I wouldn’t recommend.

Atmosphere and service were all great, however for the price my food was very underwhelming. Steak was too tough, too charred and I was given the wrong cut. I did go on Thanksgiving when it was super busy which could’ve been a factor, and I’d be willing to give it another chance on a less busy night, but not a good first impression.

Very expensive steak house on 5th Avenue. The interior was lovely, but the tables are a bit too close together. We sat at a booth, and we didn't have much room to move. A large person would definitely be uncomfortable. The waiter was very personable and attentive. The sushi was awesome. We got the dynamite roll as a starter. Then, for dinner, I got the short rib, and it was delicious. It's a bit fatty but very tender and flavorful. My 3 family members all got the rib eye, and they were all disappointed. They ordered them rare, and they came overcooked. Plus, they all mentioned that the steaks lacked flavor, particularly considering the price. We had a $600 tab for 4 people.
