Below is my honest review of the Pearl Tampa. I will list it as pros and cons because there are both.

Pros:

1. Burger Quality: The pub burger, though lacking garnishes by default, was well-cooked and tasted great.

2. Fresh Oysters: Despite the high price, the oysters were fresh and enjoyable.

3. Desserts: The Mississippi mud pie and peaches and cream pie were standout dishes, highly recommended.

4. Accommodating Staff: They provided the requested garnishes for the burger without additional charges.

Cons:

1. Burger Garnishes: It’s unusual for an $18 burger to not include basics like lettuce, tomato, or onion by default.

2. Waiter’s Knowledge: A lack of familiarity with the oysters’ flavors detracts from the experience, especially in a restaurant specializing in oysters.

3. Price vs. Experience: For over $200, the overall service and attention to detail might not have aligned with the cost.

Feedback Suggestions:

Menu Transparency: If the burger is served minimalist by design, the menu could make that clear to set expectations.

Staff Training: Waitstaff should be well-informed about the menu, especially for specialty items like oysters, even if they don’t personally consume them.

Great atmosphere! We went for lunch to celebrate my graduation, and they were able to accommodate my milk and wheat allergies. We had Fries Pickles, Wings, Fish and Chips, and Hanger Steak (things we normally can't eat out due to allergies). All of it was allergen friendly. Most of it was delicious, but i didn't care for the sour notes in the gochujang buffalo sauce. We plan on returning. It did take a while for us to be served, so be prepared to wait a bit if you go. It was worth the wait, though. Our check was brought in a cute book that had life lessons from Elvis.

Honestly the food was so bad we regretted quenching our hunger here. We enjoyed the shrimp appetizer more than the steak, which was unfortunate since I was dying for a good steak. The resturaunt is beautiful, atmosphere and server service was exceptional. She recommended us the seasonal brown sugar pie… my partner and I were blown away with the flavor. We were served a bit of a frozen slice but we enjoyed the whipped cream as if it was ice cream. Overall not a good place to have a pleasant dinner/meal. More of a place to have a couple of drinks, a pie or appetizer, pictures and enjoying music. (The music that night made the experience for me all the better). PLEASE TRY THE BROWN SUGAR PIE. 🥧 we would go back just for that.

My self and a colleague were in town for business and an old friend recommended The Pearl.

I am very glad we decided to drive down and give it a try. The food and service were exceptional.
The ambiance was nice. Dimly lit but enough to see. A very cozy atmosphere.

Our server Brittany was amazing, she was punctual with drinks and refills. She made great food recommendations.

We started off with the peel and eat shrimp, which was delicious and fresh. I had the Gulf Snapper and my colleague  had the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were top notch. I truly enjoyed mine and he his dish.

We will definitely return the next time we are in town.

We were so impressed! We had the following items and they were all incredible: Jalapeño Corn Spoon Bread for starter; then 1/2 dozen PEI oysters , Atlantic Salmon, Braised Short Ribs for entrees, & buckeye pie for dessert. Our server was very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was a great vibe in a trendy area. It was gorgeous area to walk around during Christmas time too.
