Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I've had in 50+ years and I've been in charge of hiring for the last 10 years, so I've seen worst of the worst. If I could give zero stars, I would. Reserved a car through Expedia. Arrived to the Avis/Budget office and found no one manning the front desk, though you could faintly hear someone was in the back. Sat in the lobby talking loudly for 15 minutes. No one ever comes out to assist until closing time 4PM. Then a skinny, young man emerges around the corner to announce, "Sorry folks we're closed." When we tell him we have a reservation at the office. He tells us that's impossible. He's already sent out his rentals for the day. We show him our reservation while he is supposedly on the phone with another person. He's rude to us when we can't figure out if he's talking to us or not. Fusses at us while he's talking to someone else on the phone and fusses at us for not answering his question quickly enough because we can't figure out who he's talking to. He speaks the reservation to the supposed buddy on the phone. He says buddy can't find the reservation. We insist on him looking at the reservation, and he then starts with some story that his network is down and he can't do anything. He further tells us he needs us to leave the premises, so he can work on the network and then he can bring us back inside to complete the reservation. We exit at his insistence and he quickly exits behind us and locks the door and leaves. I request his name multiple times. He refuses to give us his name. He finally laughs and gives me what I suspect is a fake name of "Mo." I take his picture, so I can report him properly to the business owner. He then begins taking pictures of our borrowed car's license plate-real genius here. Had to drive all the way to the airport to get another car and leave our college freshman completely stranded for extra hours because the lazy, good for nothing employee didn't want to do his job at the last of his work day. Now I thought this was an isolated incident until I was talking with a friend, and he said he had the exact same thing happen to him in Atlanta. Guess this is just the kind of service you get with Budget/Avis. Highly recommend not using them, and especially this particular establishment at the following address: 11570 San Jose Blvd - Ste 5, Jacksonville, FL, 32223, United States

The service at the Budget Rental location at 11570 San Jose Blvd. is horrible! I made a reservation for a vehicle to go on vacation and when arriving to pick it up there was one staff member working causing delays of about 30 minutes. I finally get to the counter and provide my ID and for the method of payment, I was going to use my Mothers credit card because she wanted to pay for the rental car and doesn't have a drivers license, but was advised that I have to use a card matching my ID. No problem, so I provide my debit card and then I am told that they have to run a "credit check" because I am using my debit card?! I asked the representative how do you run a credit check on a debit card and he responds with "I need you to put the debit card in the machine" where you would normally make a payment. I didn't debate it with him because I was in a hurry to get my vacation started. After a minute he responds with that he can't rent me a car and says "who's next"!!! I asked him why and advised that I have the money for the weekly rental and deposit, so what's the problem. He responds with the same comment that he can't rent rent me a car...who's next! I was furious, but had my Granddaughter and Mother waiting for me, so I left. I then call Enterprise who set me up with a car and provided a rental location right down the street. I showed up 5 minutes later and not only was able to use my card, but got an upgrade on the vehicle and it was less then Budget's price! The customer service was excellent from the young lady who set up the reservation to the representative at the location who got us in the car and on our way!! Highly recommend Enterprise Rental and will NEVER refer anyone to Budget!

Avis at 11570 San Jose in Jacksonville. Car was dirty, staff member Named Mostafa was rude and unprofessional! I am a preferred member and was treated like garbage. I tried explaining the message that I had on the rental car and why it stopped me from plans to leave out of town and he blatantly cut me off and asked if I drove 5500 miles in a day because that's the only way I'd get that message and continued to patronize me when I tried to explain the message just appeared. He refused to address me by my name and said he was done talking to me in front of other customers. I will be calling corporate about his manner and lack of customer support.

Just returned a Chevy Traverse and Moe was very helpful in my check in, offering me an inhouse upgrade and in the return. I will rent from Moe again. Thank you Moe.

We have rented so many times from the airport and there service doesn't compare to the service provided to us by Moe. He is amazing and is always there to please you. We will only rent from this location. Thank you Moe for providing such excellent service to my family.

My experience with Budget Rental was extremely disappointing. I reserved the van on October 1, 2019. When I arrived at the location on November 1, 2019, Moe was the only person on staff. He did not walk me to the van. I asked him to and he said I'd be fine. When I got to the van and opened the door it smelled like urine. There was a dent in the driver's door and a huge scratch on the passenger side. I went back inside and told Moe the van was unacceptable because of the foul smell. He said he did not have another van. I asked for his supervisor and was given a hand written phone number, no business card. In fact, Moe's business cards do not have his last name on them. I spoke to Moe's supervisor and he said he'd get another van and it would take an hour. This delay was extremely inconvenient. The supervisor said the van would be there at 12:30, one hour. In reality, the replacement van arrived lat 2:30. It also smelled like urine. In addition, it also had 4 torn seats, gum stuck to the floor, and sticky food on three of the seats. The gas tank was not full. I complained about the filth and smell and the supervisor said I rented a van and this is what I get. The sub-standard quality of the van was appalling. The attitude of Moe and his supervisor was extremely rude and condescending. I took the van because I had no other options and was already late because of the disgusting status of the vans. I wiped the entire interior with lysol wipes. When I asked the supervisor why the car was so dirty, he said they had vacuumed it. In addition, I returned the car November 4 at 9:00pm and there was not a drop box for the keys, so I had to make another trip to their office to return the keys. I will never rent from this location again and I will never recommend them.

I go out of my way to drive down to this particular Budget location because of how well I'm treated. If you think about good customer service, this is beyond that. Moe, has helped my mother and myself. My mother came in town with a rental she hated from the airport and Moe was super nice, as always, and got her into a more comfortable vehicle. As for me, I'm living on rental cars for the time being and Moe has gone out of his way to help me every time. I'm there on a monthly basis and am so glad he is there. He'll do whatever he can to help you out and make you leave happy. He is why I won't go anywhere else. I'm so grateful. Budget/Avis should be giving him a raise for his hard work. They're lucky to have him on their team.

Negligence and Terrible Customer Service. I experienced severe negligence and terrible customer service. I picked up my car from the Budget Mandarin Square location (11570 San Jose Blvd - Ste 5, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32223 US). When we went to leave, we saw the low tire pressure light was on on the dashboard. My husband went back in and let the person working at Budget know this. The man told us to not worry about it and ignore it because the car had been inspected the day before. Later that day, when we went to leave town for our trip, a friend saw that the rental's right rear tire had gone completely flat and stopped us from pulling away. Upon inspection, we could not drive the car and called emergency roadside service. They put a spare tire on it and we delayed our trip until the next morning. The next day I went back and told the Budget staff member what had happened (same man who had been working the day before). I got a new car and he said, "Hope you have better luck with this one." I am so dismayed over the fact that we tried to tell him something was wrong with the tire pressure -- per the car's dashboard -- and he told us to ignore it. If not for a friend noticing the flat tire, we would have gotten on the freeway. This is terrible negligence and could have ended badly if we had driven on it. I called customer service yesterday. On the call, and throughout this experience, I received a lack of care or customer service. I would not rent from Budget.

Only place I rent cars from in Jacksonville. By far the best and I've rented from other companies and from several other locations before. Moe is an outstanding person and has excellent customer service skills.
