My family had to check out abruptly when we saw roaches crawling from behind the refrigerator. One almost crawled inside my infant's food. My husband was able to kill that one. I asked the front desk attendant to check us out early. She then offered to give us another room on a different floor to get away from the bugs. She stated she was unable to check us out because management never authorized her to do so. Why have someone working at the front desk if they aren't authorized to help? Just to make sure someone is working is not enough. The inconvenience of repacking, waking my son after getting him to fall asleep in a strange crib and driving to another hotel at 11 pm is something I'll never forget. STAY AWAY!!!

This one saddens me. I came to Florida to surprise my wife on a cruise and this was the hotel I set up to stay at. This was a very bad experience and I strongly suggest staying away from this establishment! They gave away my room and raised the rates for the other room because it's close to the airport and they knew a boat was leaving the next day so I end up paying double. I am really disappointed in the way they do business. I'll plan so much better next time. So that's to positive in this situation!

had an issue in every room i've been in. smells, water problems and a couple bad customer service altercations. not to mention two dead roaches in the top cabinet that hadn't been cleaned and also a couple unalived ones i took care of. every hotel i've stayed in, ALL THE BEDS WERE KINGS. here they're all queens and is an extra charge for a king.

I've stayed here a dozen times in the past 4 or 5 years. Always friendly staff. Never had an issue. Once I went to check in and realized I had made a reservation at another Candlewood in Jax by mistake and they manager called them and took care of it for me. Nice hotel at a reasonable price.

Typical good brand. The staff here is very friendly. Stayed here on points and they gave me the suite upgrade. We were on the run from Hurricane Irma only to find out the next morning it was now on track to come here. They let me cancel the next night without penalty.

Truly a terrible experience... customer service at checkin was cold, and I was feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. After several angry and defensive exchanges, I said that I didn't feel welcome because the front desk rep had never smiled - or did or said anything welcoming! - her reply was that she didn't have to smile. My husband and I walked out without going into our room and immediately called ihg customer service to cancel the reservation and complain; the very nice woman who I spoke with said that the manager would call in 15 minutes. He did... but was no friendlier, sympathetic or responsive than his employee. When I mentioned that he seemed not to be concerned about our experience, he rudely interrupted and accused me of being judgmental. Really?! We checked into the Crowne Plaza, where our frustration from the OTHER hotel was met by the VERY sweet and friendly front desk with a room upgrade, free drinks and by a third party interjecting with her parents experience here: BEDBUGS. I'm glad that reception and management were SO rude. I'm happier with free drinks and an outstanding room at another hotel and *no* bedbug bites! :)

My husband lived in this hotel for a month while we relocated to the area. I was able to come and visit several times and stay with him. The location is perfect. You can easily access I95, 202 or 295 from this hotel. It is less than a mile from the 202 which you can use to connect to any of the others. The parking lot was never over full (even with the TPC going on during one of my visits). The staff that works the front desk are all very personable (morning, noon or night) and very helpful with any questions I had regarding his stay. There is a decent sized workout room connected to a kitchen area for snacks/meals. I remember seeing online that there was a grill area in pictures but I could not locate (and did not ask). The room is nice and perfect for one person for extended stay or two people for a short stay. Nice sized fridge, the coffee pot is small (as are the coffee cups) but okay and the desk area very large giving plenty of space. Bathroom has shelves and cabinet space which is nice for extended stay. Bed was very comfortable.

My reservation was at the Candlewood Suite. After I found a infestation of ants and poor cleaning, The sales manager was an ass and when I asked to speak with the owner, he said "let me connect you" and hung up on me. DO NOT STAY THERE! YOU WILL BE UNHAPPY. I called the Candlewood Suite at Belford rd. The Sales woman was extremely nice and gave me a great rate. The room was clean and the help was very nice. I spent 28 days and I would go back and I would recommend them to everyone. This is only 10 min from downtown.

This facility should not be allowed on DTS. They charged the same government rate as other much nicer chains with many more amenities. They did not offer maid service, if you need towels bring them to the front desk. They offered no coffee, breakfast, restaurant, even the lobby was sparse. The hotel was clean, the people nice but my bathroom sink backed up and the A/C did not keep the room cool. They even lock the shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the dispenser, ok but when 2 of the 3 are empty that is Unsat,,,also, they have no one at the desk after 9pm so you are stuck if you lose your key. On top of this, the Jacksonville location is horrible. It was off the main road and the area was really run down....a very negative experience, I will report them...
