Hello, my name is John Wingate, I am staying in room 220, at your Jacksonville location located at 210 Sant Johns Bluff Rd N, about two weeks ago, we had an issue with management cause we had some trash bags in our room, we were locked out at the time, and could not get in until management arrived, upon speaking with them my wife was told that the front desk said that our room smelled and that other guest were complaining, this was not the case I was furious and wanted to leave, so a week later it still smells, because of of a decomposing body that was in the room next to us (219) I called the manger as soon as the cops opened the door, I explained I didn't like being next to the smell of death (which was now quite present in our room, (and every time I smell that cleaning bleach I get sick to my stomach, because they were spraying it outside of our door for weeks on the concrete ) and that I was very upset that this smell was blamed on me and my family, we have 3 kids all in diapers, I was basically told I could leave, I was told there was no rooms available, then I speak to my neighbor in 221, he is telling my how he is getting an upgrade and a free week? it was blamed on us, they made my wife feel like a bad parent, I am sorry but our room doesn't smell like DEATH!? also I gag every time I smell that bleach which now reminds me of the dead body that was next door, that we had to smell all night and the following day, and for a week at least. No one ever even apologized to us, yet I hear from the neighbor how bad they feel for blaming it on us, fine, I let all that slide, yesterday, after I refused maid service so my wife could sleep (she is a nurse who works overnight) the Maid just came into our room anyway, and started yelling at me about garbage being in front of the door, first off she could not open the door because the slide bolt had been engaged, 2nd, the door was not blocked and could open fine, I keep those case there to keep my kids away from the equipment and from most importantly going outside, because me 2 yr old can reach the handle, so after she finally leaves, some other maintenance guy comes up and says we need to clean the room and remove the garbage from in front of the door, there was no garbage, and the clothes that are stacked up by the door are in a laundry bag, which brings me to my next point, there is a container full of our clothes that are soaking wet because the shitty AC here leaks, when i told the maintenance guy I was told to "get a bucket from downstairs they all do that", I am sorry but that is something I would have liked to have known before I checked in, speaking of checking in, when we walked into our room the first day there was drying blood on comforter, we have never used it once, I still have it if you want pictures, also your staff doesn't need to come up here saying how we need to clean, when as soon as that maid came in without permission, my one and a half year old daughter is walking around with a cigarette butt in her hand trying to put it in her mouth, they are always outside of our door, we don't smoke, so I think your staff should worry about the cleanliness of the property, because this is harassment at this point, we have 3 kids, I clean up after them all day, if there are a few toys on the ground or if I need to keep my kids from going outside and picking up garbage off of your dirt property, I think I have that right, also as I was told by the manager this is like our apt, while we are here, there are no bugs and as we know now, that smell wasn't us, so there is no reason for this harassment, the cops came to my door our 2nd or 3rd week here, cause the neighbor said the baby had been crying for 5 days straight, the cop found a sleeping baby, but guess what we have more than 1? babies cry, and I told the manger after this happened, this lady was beating on the walls, which woke up my other kids, now besides that, our room phone doesn't work and I had to take the tv off of the wall mount because, the bottom screw of the mount came and was going to fall on one of my kids, I took it down and put it behind the baby gate where they could not reach it, both maids acted like I ripped it down and sold it basically demanded to see it, we brought our own 47 inch Samsung (I have asked the manager if we could use our own) I have no need for that small LG tv, and you should not treat you guest like thieves. so I guess today according head maid guy we are getting reviewed, how about you give me the money back for the two weeks we spent here next to a dead body, if we are going through all of this from your staff and the guy that wasn't even next to the dead body gets an upgrade you need a better business practice, and I have been pretty cool about all of this, I only asked to move rooms once there were dead bodies next to us, and a crime scene that we didn't want our kids walking through. So, unfortunately my boyfriend is still @ the "DUMP", along with the Roaches, and now the refrigerator died. They replaced the frig but are not going to compensate him for all his food loss. He came home after a 10/hr day to this new event. I am going to look for somewhere else for him to reside because this is depressing. Some of the other men he works with already left. Oh, you have to rate your review and they do not have a Zero rating.

Roaches. Roaches crawling all over the place. Called the front desk to complain, said an exterminator was scheduled to come all types of apologies and excuses "the area just had sum rain causing the bugs to come out" I have all the lights on and still a roach crawls out. I explained to the manager that I stay because your clerk assured me this wasn't an everyday occurrence. The manger (short man) goes to tell me "it's your fault you have roaches in your room because you stay no one made you stay in a roach infested room. The hotel for this period frame was completely booked for the area why I stay. So then I thought he's right : I'm checking out, I would like a refund for roach days (2) I stay. Manger told me NO called corporate then writes down their number and said corporate can't do anything and nothing to me. Don't want to talk about the prostitution that goes on in the back corner fence when you pass the office or is that...?
