I woke up this morning to an email from Murray Hill saying that Rhett Walker tickets were $12. Here I am enjoying great music

I love this venue, too! It would be cool to watch a show here, but so far I've only attended the indoor Vagabond Flea and a few other events held inside. It's a blast from the past right when you walk into the lobby area. No alcohol is served here, but off to the right-hand corner once you're inside is a small refreshments stand for patrons. This space has tons of potential as Gideon D. mentions in his review. However, I'm still glad that this space is being used for musicians and artist no matter what the genre.

Just played a show there on the 14th and ill definitely recommend this venue to anyone. They make you feel like family.

The Theatre is for Christian Bands. The place is pretty big and spacious. I was dismayed to find out when I arrived they were lacking chairs. They had some lined up around the walls, but all seats were taken already. I finally did find a seat and was happy about that. Problem solved. They do have a nice concession stand as well. I met the Owner and he was a very nice guy. The stage was good and the light system was impressive. The Band, We are The Messenger was excellent and the opening band was very good too. In the Lobby, check in with my iPhone was easy peasy! Then you walk in to see different Vendors sharing their knowledge and passion about different things. I needed to make a quick phone call, so I went over to Vegabond(there is a side door from the Theatre)for a cup of coffee and a vegan peanut butter cookie(3). I brought two home for Ernie. They were delicious. The coffee is always good too. The concert went on much longer than I had anticipated, but I stayed to the end. I went on a Friday. It was pretty much a full house. They need a little bit of better ventilation in the place because it did not smell very good in there.

I like the nostalgia , the ambience and the decor. Really takes ya back. But I'm not sure if it was the sound guy, the venue or the band but I couldn't hear a word any of the bands were saying. The music was so loud all I can tap to was the guitarists and drummers. I don't think I'll ever be back because of this. Why go back it again I may not hear the band themselves? It just was hot and muggy as well as incredibly hard to hear. But that isn't what bothered me. A rock concert is made with hot bodies and Smokey rooms. But the lack of vocals SUCKED. It was like an instrumental concert. :( wouldn't be a big deal if this wasn't your child hood band ‍

This is a good spot to watch Christian bands. However, the only caveat is -- bring or buy earplugs (50 cents in the cafe). The acoustics are very echo-ey, from which I'm sure I killed a few hearing cells that day. It is a small music venue similar to Freebird Live, so you can have an intimate experience watching the band. As for the food in the cafe. I didn't like the chicken cordon blue I ordered. It tasted like microwave food. Their cappuccino was ok.

THIS PLACE IS ENORMOUS. Love the stage, it's pretty big. I came to watch a show here and I had an awesome time. Bummer there's no bar, YES YES, I realize it's a Christian place, which I have no problem with. I really love how spacious it is and how the building looks. I enjoyed my time here and believe you should at least pass by just to check it out.

I love this place! I come here all the time for Chirstian concerts in Jax. I've been here too many times to count. And seen soo many bands Disciple, Fireflight, Decyfer Down, Skillet, 7eventh Time Down, Petra, KJ-52 just to name a few. I had one really intresting thing happen here back in 2009. In that the band Disciple was coming and I mentioned to the band on Facebook that there was a song they played 2 yrs prior at Orange Park Methodist that brought me into christian rock and closer to God. I told them that I was going to Iraq in the coming months and that this was the last concert I was going to be at til I came back. After Disciple got to MHT that night right in the middle of their show and newer songs. Kevin the bands lead singer shouted out, "This song goes out to a solider thats about to leave for Iraq" I was center floor when I jumped, THAT'S ME! and the band dedicated that song to me. That was after I got embarrassed by everyone looking at me after I was called out. LoL The name of the song was: "Shine Down" Overall I've had many great nights here. Over the years it at times gets a little weird as there seems to be more and more High-schoolers that come here. Better here that off doing stupid stuff though.

I love old theatres in general, so you'd really have to work hard to convert one into a music venue I didn't enjoy. Murray Hill is no different. It has a great feeling to it, cool old-building style, and great views of the stage. They have seemed to focus a little more on local and regional acts [or maybe just smaller nationals that I'm not hip to] lately and I haven't heard them do a "omg-i've-got-to-go" show in a while [at least, to me]. The only gripe I have is the sound. I don't know if they just need to spend more money on a better system or what, but it can sound pretty trashy at times. And for the small size of the place, it can be insanely loud. It depends, though, because I've also heard it sound pretty good. Maybe it just depends on who is working the board. While not my favorite stomping grounds at this stage in my life, Murray Hill is an excellent [and relatively safe] venue.
