Over Priced...you pay too watch on big screens. VIP not worth it either...better bathrooms, but no where near enough seating. Food Drink Prices are a complete ripoff. Music was good, but overall not fun in the heat.

For what I expected, I give this 5 stars. It's your typical festival - hot, sweaty, loud, expensive food and drinks... the drinks were $12 for cocktails and $9 bud light. The food was like $10 for a plain hotdog. It rained on us like the whole time, welcome to the sunshine state! Shows kept getting delayed.. i live in the area so it was easy for me to wait out the rain at home or in my car. For those in tents... not so lucky. The do have an awesome camping area! If you're on a budget and traveling, that may be a good option, just not sure on pricing. Most parking was about $20/day which isn't terrible. We Ubered home the first night and paid $40... i would recommend parking. It's cash only across the board so be prepared for that. The lineup was great. I was just interested in the headliners so I didn't get to the festival until about 7pm each night. Korn, evanescence, shinedown, rob zombie, incubus, tool, papa roach, yelawolf, Judas Priest, Chevelle... I saw several other people who had been out all day with sunburns and vomit stained clothing. Be sure to drink water and bring sunscreen lol. It was definitely a rock concert crowd so be ready. Lots of moshing and crowd surfing. Had some people land on me so be weary if you wanna be close. The music was great. The sound and light quality was on point. The performers put on great Shows. I had 3 day GA bands, but Some of my friends got Friday tickets and Saturday tickets for $20 each!!! If you spent $20 to get in, that was the best $20 you spent in 2019!!

I have been to a slew of different music festivals over the years and I think that Welcome to Rockville fares well compared to them. The event suffered from some serious storms rolling through, but the event organizers still managed to make things work for the most part. I know that patrons of the event were angry at the storm causing delays on multiple days, but the weather listens to know man. The festival had to close when the lightning rolled in and remain closed for a certain amount of time. It is annoying when the skies look fairly clear, but you have to wait. However, it is better than getting hit my lightning. Parking was crazy in and around the event, but I found a sweet free spot. There were so many options paid or unpaid. Picking up tickets or buying tickets was a bit crazy, but I picked up my tickets just fine in about 15 minutes. Every day allows you to enter once, but patrons were allowed to come in again after storms caused evacuations. I understand they don't want people coming in and out and switching their wristbands with other people, but it would allow some freedom during long days of rocking out. My personal faves that I saw this weekend were Shinedown, Papa Roach, Incubus, and Rob Zombie. The crowds went into a full blown tantrum at Shinedown and Papa Roach sets. The mosh pits and crowd surfing looked insane. Even Jacoby Shaddix commented when he saw a person in a wheelchair crowdsurfing. That is next level! The Port-a-potty's looked scary, but they weren't in such bad shape towards the end of the second day. That should be seen as a plus considering how bad that situation can get. VIP may be worth it just for the upgraded bathrooms. I saw tons of tents for beer and spirits. Honestly, it never looked like there was much wait. You had a lot of different items to choose from as well. A for variety. The food options also were plentiful. I saw hot dogs, burgers, noodles, etc, etc. Prices for everything were inflated, but they are at any festival. They should take a page out of the Atlanta Falcons stadium where they price items around $5 dollars and it is so reasonable that patrons purchase more. I really liked the art area near the River Stage. You could buy some art, bags, etc. There was some neat stuff to see there. The people watching was on another level this weekend. There were so many costumes, and wackiness going on. These events are culturally amazing. I enjoyed my first Rockville experience and I would totally go again. Maybe next time I will see you!

Sad to say it will no longer be held it Jacksonville but only a hop, skip and jump away in Daytona. It was so much fun coming to Rockville once a year when you could wear your blackest black, cake your eyeliner on and scream and shout at the top of lungs like a crazy person but no one even blinks an eye. Some of the most well known bands throughout the ages play at Rockville. Always a nail biter to see who would be in the line up each year! When Korn was here I lost my voice and pulled a muscle from screaming and carrying on like a lunatic but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Rockville. You're getting a solid 4 stars and that's pushing it. I enjoyed myself but it could've been better. I purchased 2 VIP tickets because 2018 Fort Rock in south Florida was great in VIP. Rockville, not so much. For the price, it should've been better. The Monster Energy stage had the only decent VIP area. Metro stage had no covering and only beer. Nothing to munch on. River stage nothing. Not only that, the views were less than desirable. Rockville certainly put on a decent show and it was fun but you're nickel and dimed everywhere. $9-11/beer and $4 for water. It'd be great if they had free water stations (other than the one area with hoses) to keep people from, you know, dying. Rain came which is to be expected in Florida but the "evacuation" message went on for an hour plus. We finally decided to head back to the hotel only to find out it resumed shortly after leaving. Never mind the fact it was sunny when we left but they were still pushing the evac messages. It's a festival. I get it. Sets are compressed. Cool. But I think 3 stages is pushing it if you enjoy bands at all stages. You've got to run a marathon if they're playing in close time slots. Now, entrance flowed easy. Parking was awesome. Plenty of parking at the stadium. Place got cleaned up quickly for the start of each day. Bathroom situation was good for the most part. I had a good time but I'm old now! A strong 40. So I might skip next year unless it's insanely impressive. Even so, I'll definitely skip VIP.

good bands. organizers are terrible people. didn't get your wrist bands? bummer, you're paying $30/person/day. I didn't get mine and had to spend $150 extra. they make the free water hidden. Little signage. It was 101 out and they didn't let anyone keep the bottle caps so you wouldn't reuse the bottle. Wouldn't allow us to bring in a non plastic water bottle Loved the concert, hate the organizers.

For those about to rock // we salute you! Where to begin? Some of my favorite bands graced Florida for a weekend of epic proportions. Being VIP meant private restrooms, access lockers, shaded areas with bars, separate viewing areas, and so much more. Standouts of the weekend (not biased, I swear...) were Gojira, Soundgarden, Eagles Of Death Metal, Rival Sons and Mastodon. I'm not much of a fan of the mainstream radio rock, so it was an absolute pleasure to be front and center for these incredible acts. \m/ \m/ \m/ Pro tips for next year's attendees: have a friend drop you off by Intuition to walk to the fest, take cash out beforehand to not waste money on convenience fees from an ATM, and bring all the sunscreen in the world. I hope next year's lineup is as killer this year's fest was. Of course when 40,000 people are in one place, you'll see a fair amount of shit happen, which will end up inconveniencing you. All in all, Rockville brought the house down.

We had a lot of fun going to this event for the first time with the help of Yelp offering tickets. There were some excellent bands that we were happy to see for the first time. Rob Zombie, Incubus, and Tool we're just a few of the greats. I would point out that charging $9-11 for beers and more for mixed drinks was just too much. I will also never understand why you wouldn't make waters a bit cheaper during all day festival events in FLORIDA! It's like they prefer to cart people off half-dead. Hell, the Jags games are even a little cheaper. The fans are exactly what you would expect. Eccentric. Drunk. Half-naked. Passed out. I hadn't been to a festival in at least a decade and started wondering if there was anyone there that came close to appearing somewhat normal as I had hoped my appearance conveyed. I'd bet on less than 1%, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Again, music was fantastic. Food and drinks too expensive. And the people were perfect. Thank you for the opportunity.

First of all, I do appreciate Yelp for offering me free tickets through sweepstake. I am not into rock and only heard of a few headliner bands but I still went for the experience. It is interesting to people watch at least. Fights, piles of garbage, drunks walking zigzag or people lying on the floor stoned out of their minds. I can see the passion in people but it's just not my thing. I certainly didn't enjoy the music enough to be willing to spend $12 on a small plastic cup of mostly watered down mixed drinks. We stood for a little bit and left satisfied knowing that we've at least been here once.

I'll start with a disclaimer, I'm reviewing the festival itself, not the bands. The festival and how it's organized as far as pricing, camping, and vending is extremely poorly executed. You pay to camp (a pretty hefty sum,) and the security monitors you the whole time as you come and go, making sure you don't bring any guests back to your camp site. That sort of micromanagement ruins the experience and convenience of being able to camp there because your friends and family have to purchase another camping pass in order to hangout with you, and you're unable to meet people from the show and invite them back to your camp site (big time bummer.) An alternative would be to have security at the camp sites, but have them a little more off the grounds, and a little less strict (allow friends of guests, maybe have a maximum guest limit to 10 people instead of ONLY camp pass purchasers...) That system does not work or accommodate guests which sacrificed their hard earned money for camping. As for the sound quality and PA, it could definitely use some work. i noticed that even standing back midway through the crowd, the event was not nearly loud enough and the sound was very poor. If you are seeing a metal show, you want to sound to be shreeking/rumbling with high highs and low lows, hitting you in the chest. This was not the case. Some of it was actually inaudible, which for a multi million dollar fest, there should be some clarity. So for the sound, definitely a 1 star. Poor sound quality can also do a disservice to the artists who are being poorly portrayed through an inadequate sound setup. Now to the vending. There is not nearly enough accommodation for guests as far as food and beverage vendors. You are finding yourself waiting a half hour while you're dehydrating and overheating from the closeness of the proximity to other patrons, while you're missing your favorite band just to buy a 10 dollar water bottle.. let alone actually purchasing food which will easily add another $100 to your spending. Now to the actual spending review. Your cheapest passes are hundreds of dollars. you are charging $300-$400 dollars just for weekend passes when you consider the tax and "service" fee which is questionably high. This is simply not worth it and it's a cash grab at its finest. A lot of music fans that attend concerts regularly will immediately dismiss this festival due to the unnecessarily high admission price. At least lower the cost of your 1 day passes to $60-$75 so someone who wants to see just their favorite band can feel like they're not completely blowing their money on something they're mostly not that interested in aside from 1 hour (at the most) of listening to music from a subpar PA system that sounds worse than a good pair of headphones.. Overall, the festival is a 1 star. It's why I haven't returned for a third go around. I went twice and called it quits because all in all it just kind of sucked, and it's an obvious cash grab. My suggestion is go to a concert of a band you like and pay less to see them and actually be able to move around and purchase items without being ripped off by the entire promise and idea that its going to be so great, when it really actually sucks. I don't like watching bands I'm not fond of, so paying such an overwhelming amount of money to see one band isn't appealing. I wouldn't even consider it.
