Everyone should experience Joe’s Stone Crab at least once in their lifetime. The place is iconic! Service is always on point. Staff dress professionally and treat guests like everyone is the only person in the restaurant. A tip for the maitre d will go a long way in getting a proper table in a nice location without a long wait. Restaurant is impeccably clean and cared for. Lots of t-shirts, aprons, food, souvenirs and the like for sale in the “take away” area. Food is good, maybe not great. You go more for the entire experience mostly, but definitely put this on your bucket list!

To be honest, I think the service is better than the food. First time trying stone crab claws and they were good, but not amazing enough to leave a lasting impression. The coleslaw, paella or key lime pie were also okay but didn’t stand out from other restaurants.
The service was excellent. They served hand towels soaked in warm lime water to keep your hands clean in between courses which you don’t normally see in most U.S. restaurants.
I’d recommend trying this place out if you’re visiting for the first time, but we probably won’t go back.

This place can be a little overwhelming when you first get there at peek hours.
1) I would strongly advise you to reserve online as they do not take phone reservations.
2) You can also walk up about an hour before and bypass the line, go see the mane host and ask for wait time and he can sign you up.
When we got there around 8pm on a Sunday it was total mayhem. I spoke to the head host and he suggested he ads us to the list and we come back in an hour, we had a drink nearby and came back at 9, there was no longer any lineups so it was great. 👍
The crab claws 🦞 they are so famous for are very good and fresh, they are served raw with a mustard/mayo style sauce. They are not cheap but well worth it if you really enjoy seafood if not there are lots of other great options that are much more budget friendly such as the chicken 🍗 Burgers 🍔 and much more. They also serve an incredible lobster bisque, coconut shrimp 🍤 and the lobster mac&cheese 🧀 is to die for that cheese sauce is exquisite. They also have very nice patio sections where you could ask to be seated. Enjoy!

We love stone crabs, and to celebrate stone crab season, we made a four hour drive to go to the iconic restaurant on Miami Beach. It lives up to its reputation and was the best we have ever had. The restaurant has been open for 112 years and only serves claws that are brought in that day. You can taste the difference in the freshness. You are treated wonderfully from the moment you walk in, and it is a must destination for anyone who loves stone crabs or seafood in general.

This is an institution worth visiting. From the exceptional service from start to finish to the classic yet delicious food, everything is top quality. I didn’t have high expectations coming into this restaurant yet I was blown away. It was my first time trying snow crab and they were excellent along side everything else we ordered. This restaurant has a buzz of great energy. A must for a holiday or special occasion.
