I stayed for one night before a cruise & had a fantastic stay! Staff was very kind & helpful. I was in the area before check in & after check out & they held my bags both times while I used the private beach. The room was very clean. Traveling as a solo female I felt very safe on my own walking around the area to shops & restaurants. I would absolutely stay again!

Disappointing Experience at Villa Italia South Beach Miami.

I’ve stayed at Italia Villa in Miami twice now, and unfortunately, both visits were very disappointing.

On my first visit, I barely got any sleep due to a madman yelling outside all night. The walls are paper-thin, so every sound from outside and inside the hotel is impossible to ignore. Combine that with the massive gap under the room doors, and you may as well not have a door at all.

During my second stay, things got even worse. On the very last night of our trip—which we had booked four months in advance—I had reserved a king suite, only to be told upon arrival that my room had been given away. Instead, I was stuck with two double (or maybe queen) beds. This was absolutely unacceptable, considering I paid months in advance for a specific room. When I asked to speak to a manager about the issue, I was told there was no manager on-site. I left my phone number and email address, but I never received any response or follow-up.

To add insult to injury, we found a cockroach in our room, which was disgusting. On top of that, hidden fees were a major issue: we were charged $30 per person, per day in resort fees that were buried at the bottom of the website and not made clear upfront.

Parking was another nightmare. The hotel doesn’t provide any parking, so I ended up having to pay $40 to park across the street in a parkade. For a place that brands itself as a "villa," the lack of basic amenities like parking is unacceptable.

Overall, both stays were riddled with problems—from noise and cleanliness to poor service and lack of transparency. The lack of accountability and communication from the staff was the final straw. I would not recommend staying here!

The service. I’ve never had the misfortune of staying somewhere with such horrendous service. The storage room that holds all of the clean towels/linens for the remainder of the hotel is locked within a closet inside the master bedroom of the private villa. This resulted in house keeping knocking on our door every single day of our stay to access that closet to get to the towels. And a second knock with them accompanied by management when we denied them access the first time. They didn’t care someone was still asleep in that room. They came in every day to get towels/linens for the rest of the hotel. Their storage issues are not mine and my family’s problem and to have our rest and vacation disturbed just for this was terrible customer service overall. If you plan on staying in the private villa, expect to be interrupted everyday of your stay. Or if you won’t be in the villa during the daytime, expect the staff to be accessing the area with your private belongings without you there. This was not communicated to us ahead of time nor was it upon check in that this would be occurring. If someone has the villa booked for so many days, why not access the towel/linens ahead of time and store them elsewhere if the villa will be occupied? It seems like that would be common sense, but apparently this place didn’t seem to have that

No issue with the room itself, the private villa was nice and clean overall. And the location was ideal, within walking distance of most places we needed to be. The service didn’t outweigh this though, and we will be staying elsewhere next time we visit. I encourage you to do the same and look for other accommodations.

Stay away! SHADY HOTEL!!! This hotel is not as nice as photos and the shower had issues- no hot water and handle was already broken and we were told that we had to let the wster run 15-20mins and wait for hot water to come on because they werr at capacity. Ridiculus and then whe. We try to open it again, they handle broke off. No maintenance that late at night, they refused to give refund and ignored multiple messages and attempts of resolution making us eat a $220 cost! Shady!

I was charged then refunded for pre-existing damage that I reported to reception. I had to dispute the charge and the refund took about 2 weeks to come through. The owner eventually apologised for the charge.

Cleaning of bathroom almost non-existent: fake eyelash stuck to the tap handle that was there from check in for 2 days until I sorted it myself. It was very visible so impossible not to notice if cleaning the sink area.

Personally I don't view this as a 4-star hotel, it feels tired and lacks the refinement one would expect of such a rating.

Otherwise the location is great, bed is comfortable and shower is fine, so the essentials are covered. The rest of the cleanliness seemed fine.

I had difficulty with the coffee maker but that was on me for not spotting the power button on the right-hand side.
