The was very good and the portions were perfect to being allot (mmmm leftovers). I highly recommend this place for your Mexican food craving. Service was good. Ambiance was typical

We stopped in here as a new spot to try their margarita. I got the house (I asked if they made their own mix and they said yes), & my friend got the Margarita Perfecta. They looked exactly alike, except for the price tag. I would say it was not housemade mix, as it tasted like the kind that comes premade in a bottle. The margarita was uber sweet, served w/o lime, and even asking and adding 3 additional lime wedges, was still uber sweet. We got the queso and chili relleno as appetizers. Both were bland and without much flavor. The chili relleno looked beautiful. Decor is really cute. Service was spotty and we were the only ones there for quite some time. Might try again for a meal? Not sure. We did see a table come in and order tacos and a burrito, and they both looked very appetzing.

Walking in through the front doors of this establishment you are greeted by bright vibrant colors and a friendly atmosphere. The waitress met us and brought out chips and salsa while we looked over the extensive menu. At her recommendation I tried the Carnitas. When I think restaurant style carnitas, I'm thinking shredded or pulled meat. Not here, the meat came out in large beautiful chunks of meat which glistened with moisture. I tried to give my wife one of the pieces, but it was so tender it fell apart on the fork as I tried to move it. You can definitely tell the difference between el Mariachi and the local chain restaurants. Everything was fresh and prepared with care (even their tortillas were made in house). This is yet another example of a gem of a find in a strip mall location. Do NOT let the location dissuade you, this place deserves all the positive attention they can get.

My husband and I stopped in the other day to try El Mariachi! We had seen their sign and noticed they were new. The server who took care of us was so friendly and the menu was HUGE! They also have lunch specials every single day till 3pm (not just on the week days). I was also pleasantly surprised to see they had some mocktail options for us NA people! I got a drink called the flamingo. It was watermelon redbull, coconut, pineapple and yeah it was so yummy. For food we shared two items the steak taco plate which came with rice and beans and the "mini" chimichangas! Both were absolutely delicious and I was truly blown away. I always ask for restaurants hottest homemade hot sauce and theirs didn't disappoint. It was a habanero sauce and it was so good. We can't wait to return and I high suggest checking them out and supporting this new business!

First I would like to say the server was AWESOME!!! I ordered the Churo s appetizer it wasn't what I expected so I ordered something else with the advice from my server, the chicken street tacos were great! After the bill was delivered I noticed the Churo appetizer was still on the check, I asked the server could it be removed since I didn't eat it, she came back and told me the Manager said no, that since it came from the kitchen and it wasn't their error then no I was stuck paying for it! I will not go back to this restaurant again! It's a shame because the place was really empty, if this is their practice towards their customers then I say your days are numbered!!!

You guys need to come here and eat actual Mexican food. This is our 2nd time here and we came back because the food was amazing, service was fast, and the margarita and pretty good. The mango one is my favorite. I can't recall what I got last time but today I got the burrito California and it was great. And their salsa for their chips tastes authentic and is amazing also. The place is so full of color and you feel like you are in a Mexican restaurant inside of Mexico. Hurry up and come try this place.

While the restaurant is festive and colorful this does not reflect the most important aspect which is food and service. The food was cold, dried out and flavorless. The waitress was slow but really more overwhelmed as she had the entire place to herself. Though it wasn't too busy, she was hosting, waiting and servicing all of the tables. Not impressed and will not return.

First visit, they have only been open for about 4 weeks. So that is enough time to shake out any issues. Bright and colorful decorations and very comfortable. Met by a mother & daughter team of very friendly and informative ladies about the food. Now on to the food, complimentary chips & salsa with a very mild salsa and crisp chips. I ordered two Pasteur street tacos and Guatemalan Tamal. Both were very fresh and flavorful. The pork in the tacos was a bit sweet and that balanced the mild spices and fresh cilantro. The Tamale was different from the usual type that many are familiar with wrapped in a corn husk. This was wrapped in a banana leaf and served with toast in the traditional way. Very fresh and flavorful. Asked for hot sauce and we got two, both escalate the heat levels, perfectly. They have a very full menu, all of us were interested in returning to try more of the menu and believe it would be as good as this meal was. This is not chain La Nap food. This is home made food made with heart. All the best to them and hope they have great success.

El Mariachi Mexican Chapin is a New Mexican restaurant in Orange Park. Walking in, I felt the decor was colorful and understated. The menu was extensive. I started with the fajita locos, subbing chips with rice. The meat was tender.Next was the candelaria quesabirrias . The birria was very good. The server was attentive and helpful. I will be back to try some other options.
