The best artisan pizzas I’ve tried so far.  Their ingredients and dough are very fresh.  Great flavor.  Excellent service.  It really hit the spot.  Very satisfying.  Very clean bathroom.  They need to open one in South Tampa.  Enjoy the photos below!

Well, I have an update I did revisit russo's this last Friday to see how things where while under pressure I revisited around 3-4pm, as soon as I walked in the door and sat down just to add I wasn't greeted or acknowledged during the time as I walked in nor while I got situated into my table and while I was waiting on a waitress to come over to my table (please note that during the time I was there there was one other table with customers) it took over two minutes for a waitress even to acknowledge the fact I had sat down in her section. For an Italian based restaurant you expect to be welcomed and treated like part of a family when sitting down to eat. Since I was the only other table seated at the time and ordered a single slice of pizza,  I expected my slice of pizza to be done around 5-8 minutes after ordering  (greetings and when the food should be brought out after ordered are important to me) the food took almost 13-15 minutes from the time I ordered to the time it got to my plate and the pizza slice was broken in half when it got to me. See the photo for proof. The food was still good and the flavors where still as expected excellent.

Unfortunately this is where things went kinda sideways for me, I have kitchen and food handling experience and observed my waitress who turned out to be the front of house manager cough openly without using her shoulders or elbows to cover her mouth and then later using her hand to cover her mouth and proceeded to not wash her hands afterward for at least 5 minutes (as far as I could observe) and actively handle a food order for carryout, I did try to reach out to the owner directly to address the lapse in food handling and safety protocols that night but it's been over 24 hours and no reply or response to my outreach. The food is great but I would definitely recommend after watching everything unfold Friday afternoon a retraining of the staff in food handling protocols until or unless that happens please give the restaurant a pass until these issues are addressed.

First thing, the pizza is done spot on and there is a crunch throughout the slices, not soggy and drooping. The taste is really impressive as I have tried quite a few small pizzerias around and this by far my favourite. I had to try more than one style, and I will say the meatballs are pretty good and not dense. My experience here was pretty great, and the atmosphere is not as you would expect from a shop that sells slices, it is sophisticated.

Food is fairly good for it being Florida. service is slow, and prices are quite interesting. I ordered a small cucumber salad for around $8 on my first visit. I come back and order a large for around $12. I received the same size salad at two different prices. Now for that, I will not be coming back.

Good - NOT Great! I was in Clearwater today and Google suggested I visit Russo's for a NY slice...

While I was very impressed with the presentation, and size of the slice, I found the New York style cheese slice to be slightly above average pizza, thanks to the crust.

What ruined the pie for me was the Italian seasoning that's sprinkled on top of the cheese,  and it was overpowering...

My cheese slice took 11 minutes to be ready and cost me a whopping $5.35, the price of a 2 slice combo meal elsewhere... It's too much money and not enough authentic NY pizza flavor. The ingredients are here, but the execution is in tune with their slogan "Good Anyway You Slice It."

I agree. Good, not GREAT!

I have no plans on returning or recommending to anyone.
