Beautiful walk up. It's a little crazy going up. It is usually very crowded. Try to do it early in the morning or later in the evening. It is mandatory to make bookings online for time slots to hike up. Plenty of parking available. There are some snack shops to buy food or water. It's better to bring your own. Definitely bring a hat and sunglasses if going in the morning. SUNSCREEN.

We visited Oahu recently and we knew we had to visit Diamond Head. We got our reservations as soon as the date opened up because there is limited availability and they won’t let you in without a reservation.
Once there, we headed straight up on the hike, not really knowing what to expect. This is a pretty challenging trek, you start uphill and keep on going until you reach the summit. The trail is a combination of paved, rock, and some stairs mixed in for good measure. Along the way there are a few spots to stop and catch your breath and take pictures.
At the top, there is a platform to climb onto and admire the views in all directions. The scenery really is breathtaking, with views all around of the island, Honolulu, the ocean, etc. We stayed at the top for around 20-30 minutes just taking it all in.
We like hikes where there is a good payoff at the end, and Diamond Head delivers on that point. Well worth the effort to get to the top, highly recommended.

Amazing views and nice experience! Paradise!
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Not easy for kids.
Due to the construction you won’t be able to come there at any time, I recommend buying tickets BEFORE COMING IN! We had to book ours 4 days before visiting. If you’re planning to visit for 4pm reservation make sure you’re out of there by 6pm, because park closes at that time.

Great hike up to the top of crater . Took about 45 mins and quite busy even though you book your time slots and people are also coming down same trail as you are going up . Wear runners as very uneven surfaces and all uphill! There are spots you can stop and rest along the way if need be and many do ! There are lots of stairs I believe over 100 and the hike is all uphill! Note there is a tunnel which is a bit claustrophobic but I managed to get through

truly, a beautiful experience to go and do this hike me and my husband signed up to go to Diamondhead. We were there early in the morning. It was part of one of our tours. They picked us up from our hotel and took us there so we didn’t have to worry about parking, getting tickets, or anything like that I highly recommend going through a tour just because you don’t have to worry about the hassle of fighting for parking and getting into the park or anything like that, it is just a beautiful hike, beautiful scenery. There’s a lot of people there so you wanna get there early. The whole trail is just packed with people.
