One of my favorite places when I go into town. The sunset here is gorgeous. Great for running, walking, relaxing, whatever. Also close to tons of great food spots. Marugame Udon, Little G’s cafe.

A must do for anyone visiting Honolulu with small kids. The beach is designed with a wall of rocks to break waves and ensure the water is calm. It’s crystal clear and there’s amenities available (toilet, shower, change room etc). The water stays shallow til quite far out, we even managed to find a sunken boat about 3/4 out with tonnes of fish around it. Bring a snorkel if you have one!

Getting there is easy by bus, a 5/10 minute walk from the stop and there’s plenty of free parking nearby if you’re driving.

The best spot on Oahu. Ideal for walking, running, swimming, biking, fishing, rowing, yoga, sparring, surf, paddleboard, you name it. You will see seal, turtle and plenty of cats here. Beautiful anytime of day, with occasional double and triple rainbows! I got married in the middle of Magic Island and it will forever be my favorite location on the island

Probably awesome for small children! For my family who likes snorkeling, surfing, and boogie boarding, it was not great. The man-made reef creates a calm body, similar to a lake.  Great for littles, boring for us. However, beautiful views and easy walking to food.
