Absolutely loved this hotel! You’re about a 10 minute walk from the beach, but right next to numerous restaurants and malls. The room was very clean and spacious, and room service came to make the bed/tidy up every day. It’s as simple as putting a sign on the door. Both elevators were fast and functioning. The Hideout is a restaurant that is apart of the hotel. Some of the best food I tried on our trip. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic! Live music every day and just an overall great vibe. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Beach towels to take whenever you need and a clean pool with comfortable chairs and shade. The only thing I would’ve loved even more is a hot tub, but it was still a great pool. I would absolutely stay here again!

Made us sick!!
There are some positives to this hotel such as the proximity to shopping and the beach. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Overall, I think the negatives outweigh the positives though.

First of all if you are wanting a quiet place to stay, this is not it. The AC in our room was very loud. We heard music and loud people from the restaurant late into the night and another loud banging noise which I believe was people dropping weights in the gym. (Although our room was close to the gym, I would be surprised if we were the only ones able to hear it because of how loud it was.) I assumed it may be a bit more noisy because the restaurant has a bar and live music but it was so loud inside our room that we could clearly hear what song was being played.

Second, I have stayed at a lot of Marriott’s and this one definitely had the least amount of amenities. There is not a coffee machine, tea kettle, or microwave in the room (there is a microwave on the first floor) which isn’t a deal breaker for me but may be for some, and is included in the other Marriott’s I’ve stayed at- even without the Autograph collection status that this Marriott claims to have.
There is also no hot tub which was disappointing for us. I understand being in Hawaii a hot tub may not be necessary because of the climate but again, it is something that has been at the other Marriott’s I’ve stayed at and was something we wished they had. There was no bathtub in the room we stayed in as well so if you have kids that are easier to get in a bath or you want to take a bath, this might not be the place.
Most of the Marriott’s I’ve stayed at also get bed sheet changes daily(unless otherwise requested) and this hotel did not do that. They change sheets every 7 days as stated on their welcome letter. Might be an issue for some.
There was also no table in our room. There was a desk and night stands but nowhere to eat. Probably because they want you to eat at their restaurant.

The restaurant had pretty great food but I felt like the price point of the food was too high to be able to get what we wanted with the $50 breakfast credit- especially keeping in mind that they don’t have the coffee or tea in the rooms so you do have to buy it with your breakfast.

Lastly, our room made us very sick. At first we thought we had just come down with something but after getting out we realized that both of us felt almost completely better after not being in the hotel room for most of the day. Then coming back and having symptoms hit hard again whenever we were in the room. We did stay in a cabana suite right next to the pool, so I’m not sure if the room had hidden mold in it due to staying very humid all the time or if it was the AC. I don’t think it helps that the bathroom fans are definitely not strong enough for the humidity. There was an earthy, musty smell when we first got in but we didn’t think much of it. We didn’t make the correlation of being so much more sick in our rooms until the last day so unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to switch rooms and give it another chance. Maybe a room higher up wouldn’t have had the same effect? But it did make our stay extremely uncomfortable and we did not enjoy being at the hotel because we felt awful while there.

This was a very good choice in Waikiki. First the location, unbeatable, just in front of marugame Odom, all the shops and two blocks from the beach.. then the rooms, very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The service offered by the maids and the check in counter was top notch... If I have to state something bad, it would be that the shower head was broken and not fixed in my seven days stay and that we got some bad attitude in the breakfast several days (Christie), but that is kind of small compared to the good stuff. I would recommend this hotel strongly

We stayed here only a night but was really impressed by their customer service. The lady by the store near the pool immediately approached my husband and daughter who were waiting for me to check in. It was Halloween weekend so she offered to give her a decoration to decorate and display. She then offered us shaved ice which they offer to guests. Our room was so clean and spacious. We also got a welcome basket. The only thing I wish they had was a microwave in the room for parents who need to warm or prep meals for their picky toddlers like me. But aside from that, the entire stay was really good. Would come back here especially with their good location, clean facilities and good customer service!

One of the best places to stay, rooms are clean, so many free services and events. Free water stations with sparkling and cold water, included sunscreen and pool towels. Hideaway and secret room bars and not to mention the fish market restaurant below you. Incredibly fast elevators and the vibe was awesome.

Will definitely stay here again.

The Laylow Waikiki, Autograph Collection

We booked our stay at the Laylow through our Costco membership, because of this we got a pretty good rate on the room, free parking, a food credit with the hotel and a little Costco gift card. The staff was very friendly, when I checked in I was coming from another hotel in the area, switching from a business trip to a fun trip, and they were able to get me into a room a bit early. The room was spacious, had a mini fridge, really good air conditioning, and a great shower. They also gave us a welcome basket with reusable water bottles, flip flops, local chocolate, chips, a tote bag, and a little rubber ducky. They have a water station downstairs, near the pool, with sparkling water, cold water, or room temperature water. They also have the ice machine right next to it. During the day the hotel has different benefits for guests like free fruit, shave ice, drinks, and activities like lei making. We didn't get to try everything but had the shave ice one day and it was delicious. The little cafe downstairs was just ok, but it's nice to have easy access to coffee in the morning. There is also a restaurant and in the evenings they had live music playing and the musicians they had were really good! The valet crew was so friendly, we visited them often as we explored the island and they made sure we never waited long for our car. The location is great, walking distance to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and coffee. Also, if you utilize their valet service it makes it easy to ask for your car and The beds were comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy. We slept well each night and woke up bright and early since we were jetlagged. I was worried the noise from the bar downstairs would keep us up, but even on the weekend it was quiet at a reasonable hour and we were in bed at 9 or 10pm each night. The shower was nice, I wasn't a huge fan of the scents of all of their bath products, but it as nice that they had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. I sunburn easily so keeping my skin is extra important when I'm spending the day in the sun. The little fridge could have been bigger, but it's size limitation kept us from buying too much at restaurants. You can keep a few drinks and leftovers, but not big boxes in there. I would definitely stay here again.

Had an amazing time at The Laylow! We needed a dog-friendly place for a brief stay and am so glad we picked The Laylow, a small boutique hotel on Kuhio. Highlights: - From the valet to the front desk and housekeeping, ALL hotel staff were so genuinely kind to us and were especially sweet to our dog. Dom at the front desk and Midori from the gift shop were especially amazing. - Super convenient location with many sit-down and takeout restaurants, cafés, and retail shops a short walk away. - Food and cocktails from Hideout, the restaurant on property, were delicious and the live music by a local artist named Sienna was perfect for a fun and relaxing happy hour. We'll definitely be returning with our happy pup to The Laylow!

The Laylow is in a great location central to the touristy area of Waikiki. It's surrounded by a lot of restaurants and shops, including its own Hideout restaurant in which I highly recommend their breakfast sandwich, edamame, pulled pork eggrolls, and bread pudding. Their water/ice station around the corner from the elevators was life saving and they also have daily activities and water ice by the pool. The room was decent and clean with soft towels, soft/light water pressure from the shower, and a slight but pleasant scent in the bathroom that subtly lingered for the duration of my stay. However, this isn't the place to stay if you are a light sleeper or like to take naps during the day. The only way the door closes completely is when it loudly slams shut, which can be heard up and down the hall. The windows aren't soundproof. Several nights of my stay I could hear people shouting from the street below - I was on the 11th floor. My room #1119 was next to the elevators. Whenever they moved, it sounded like someone was rolling a heavy object on the floor right above me. Luckily, there wasn't a lot of people who used the elevator after 9pm. So I was able to sleep a bit. The balcony provided a view of an adjacent parking garage at the Hyatt Centric. To peek at the ocean, I had to stand close to the balcony railing. Also, if you need something in the middle of the night, you have to call the front desk. Don't rely on sending a message through the Marriott app, they took hours to respond. On a separate night I had food delivered to the hotel around 3am. There was no one at the front desk and the only staff available was one valet person (FYI - food deliveries need to be met in the lobby. There isn't a designated spot for them to leave your order and the front desk won't hold/accept deliveries). This place is a fine place to stay that is close to food, shopping, and the beach; but, if you're interested in being well rested you should choose a hotel that's soundproof. If I paid cash instead of using my points, my rating would be lower.

We've been trying different Waikiki hotels just because. The Laylow (part of the Marriott Autograph Collection) was our digs for three nights during the Labor Day 2025 weekend. LOCATION: Right in the heart of Waikiki! Next door is the International Marketplace, a block away from Royal Hawaiian SC and right behind Stix food hall, and close walking distance to other popular spots. Very convenient! PARKING: Valet-only parking was included in room rate, like how it should be everywhere! The entrance is on the left side of the hotel and you have to deal with pedestrians on the main sidewalk so be careful. Exiting was easy via a traffic signal. They park most cars in the International Marketplace garage so wait times can be a bit if you don't call ahead for your car. CHECK IN: Cy was awesome! Very friendly, welcoming and professional. He easily helped us get a higher floor. LOBBY: Their restaurant and small pool greets you as you ascend the escalator. The tiny front desk, activities desk, business center and fitness center is all here. ROOM 615: The room is a spacious corner suite with king bed, daybed tucked away in the corner, sofa that's really a second daybed, small dining area & table, and two balconies. Views are of the backside concrete wall of the International Marketplace and a parking garage from the other. The hotel isn't too tall so I'm not sure if there's views from the top either. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've slept on as it was too soft and bowed in the middle. The pillows also got flat quickly. I slept on the sofa/daybed on night 3 and got a little more rest but the pillows suck! Air conditioning was strong. One of the two balconies sported 2 chairs and a tiny low table, but sitting out there would come with wafts of restaurant exhaust fumes and noise. Overall noise was very quiet. BATHROOM: Single basin, standard toilet and spacious shower. Water pressure was adequate but the hot water seemed to run out when showering late (around midnight). Water temperature was good in the mornings and early evenings. The bathroom sliding door had no lock. AMENITIES: All the usual bath amenities were available, including a much appreciated big bottle of lotion. Safe, iron & board, mini fridge, ice bucket and free & strong WiFi rounded up the package. We had a welcome basket consisting of 2 pairs of slippers, tote bag, 2 water bottles, dark chocolate, a postcard and a rubber ducky. The hotel's sole ice machine is located in a hallway on the lobby level along with a still & sparkling water dispenser. HOUSEKEEPING: They provide daily refreshing such as making the bed and replacing towels, but actual cleaning and changing of bedding is done only every 7th day. The room was clean but the two balconies were filthy with dirt and bird droppings. DAILY FEE: It's either non existent or included in the room rate, like how it should be everywhere! RESTAURANTS: We didn't eat here. CHECK OUT: TV check out is available. OVERALL: Love the location and wanted to love the hotel, but the bed & pillows need to go.

If you want to be in the center of attraction and you want a lively hotel then this is the hotel for you. This hotel is located in the center of everything from the international market and all of the shopping outlets like Nordstrom Rack. The hotel offers free lei making everyday, happy hour, live band, dj and other events. They start you off with a nice welcome basket that includes slippers, a nice beach bag and water bottles. The rooms were clean but I wasn't a fan of the housekeeping staff. Most of them were men and if you leave anything around they will throw it out. They threw out one of my beach bags that I left on my bed and the next day they threw out another one of my bags that I use for my accessories. After that, I opted to put the do not disturb sign on my door. They have a water station in the lobby with your choice of sparkling, cold or room temperature water. I found out if you open the draws under the ice maker, they have pre-packed ice that you can bring back to your room. The pool area is nice, and they offer you frozen fruit and shaved ice everyday. The food at the hotel was average but it really depends on what you order. Their happy hour was great and their regular drink menu was also pretty good. This hotel was very clean, staff were extremely nice and helpful if you had a question. I would highly recommend the Laylow boutique hotel if you are here for a good time and don't mind being in the middle of all of the downtown night life.

Enjoyed this hotel! Solid 4.5 stars. Great location in the heart of Waikiki; only about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Near tons of shops and restaurants. Due to the heavy foot traffic outside, I've heard that this place can get very loud at night especially on the weekends. Luckily, we didn't have any issues since we were on a higher floor. Parking is valet only and $65 a night. They have an outdoor pool. It was nice but on the smaller side. They also have a great restaurant and coffee bar near the lobby which was convenient. The room itself was a decent size and I loved the overall aesthetic. It was cozy and clean. We were given a complimentary welcome basket which included a tote bag, drink sleeve, chocolate and waters. The staff was super friendly and professional. Their hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable.

I've stayed here a few times and really like the Laylow. The rooms are clean. The front desk and housekeeping are always helpful and pleasant. For a Marriott Titanium member plus a guest, you get a $40 daily credit which translates into a really good breakfast at the Hideout or a free bottle of champagne. The best part is that the hotel is located in an area that has plenty of nearby restaurants, shopping, and access to the beach. Thank you Laylow for another great experience.

Dom at the front desk was so helpful and friendly! He was very informative and professional, and really stood out to our family as someone to whom we'd like to give kudos. Genuinely a nice guy and an asset to this hotel. Chris, who taught our son to ukulele one day, and made us shaved ice on another day, was also so nice and our family enjoyed talking to him about pin trading. He is also a stand out employee. The rooms are very well appointed and the elevators are efficient. The room has a balcony, but it looked out to the parking garage, which is fine and we knew that when booking. Chris, Dom and the room is getting this review the 3 stars- Where I'm knocking 2 stars, is due to the following experience : We were texted and emailed to check in the day before our actual check in date. We walked over fr the Royal Hawaiian, where we were staying for 14 nights prior (also a Marriott hotel, but their Lux line as opposed to Laylow, part of their tapestry collection) and went to check in as directed by both email as well as text. Turns out we could not check in, which is fine, but curious that we were told to by Marriott Bonvoy. Ok, so I tell them to text us the next day when the rooms ready bc we are literally down the street. Next day comes and we uber over w our luggage to check in and the place is noticeably not busy. It's like noon-ish. Check ins at like 3ish? Both Ko Olina Marriott, Turtle Bay (also Marriott, north shore) as well as the Royal Hawaiian (across the mall) ALL gave us complimentary early check ins this summer. We travel A LOT, mostly Marriotts, all over the states as well as the islands, and never had a situation where we are standing there w our room ready and had to pay to get the keys early. I understand they CAN charge an early arrival/check in fee- but it was our daughters 12th bday that day and she literally had come down w a terrible migraine and felt and looked horrible. On the verge of tears in pain. Normally, we'd just go to the mall or the pool and wait it out. But I asked, is our room ready? Yes, we are assured our room IS ready. However, they wanted the early check in fee,even though we appealed to their aloha nature to please waive it under the circumstances. Marriott's always give us complimentary early access to our rooms just to be nice and to keep customers happy. We honestly have never even had to ask, they always just give it to us. Most hotels we use also do this if the room is ready. California Grand at Disneyland, just let us in 4 hours before check in last week for example. It's very rare that a higher end hotel tries to nickel and dime for an early check in when they admit the rooms ready and a kids sick on their bday sitting in the lobby like that. For this reason alone, I won't consider or stay at this hotel again, it just left me feeling a certain type of way. It wasn't about the money- we tipped the bellhop and other staff members well above the early check in fee they stuck us with. It was just in bad taste and for that, our family and friends won't be back. In all honesty, the hotel is very nice though, gym and pool were clean and lovely. Room and welcome basket were great. I actually liked the view bc fr one side I could see the mountains and the other side Moana surfrider. I also didn't mind the parking lot and mall view. The beds and bathroom were all great. The pool was very shallow though, so for anyone who likes deeper water, it might not be the best option. This is my fair and honest account of our stay here.

Love this place! Great aloha hospitality upon arrival and beautiful room exceptionally clean and super comfortable! I slept like a baby! Great location next to international marketplace with a food court and plenty of shopping. Easy access to the beach about a 5-10 minute walk. Pool is small but quaint and great environment very relaxing several perks such as lei making classes, shaved ice, complementary.

I was smitten with this place from the start. I loved the escalator leading you directly from bustling Kuhio Ave. right into the enclave of the Laylow lobby, which provides an open-air oasis that's sheltered from the chaos but very close by. I will preface the rest of this by saying that I feel like my stay was enhanced by springing for a corner suite on an upper floor; I can see there might be some drawbacks if you were assigned a regular room on one of the lowest floors, depending which side of the hotel the room was located on. (I still thought it was a good price for mid-Waikiki.) The room is perfect mid-century Hawaiiana, with the bold teal and orangey-pink wallpaper making an immediate statement. The suite offers three sitting areas (daybed, sectional couch, armchair) and a corner suite has two balconies. Mine had one looking over Kuhio Ave. in the direction of the canal and the mountains, and another that looked over Waikiki with a partial ocean view beyond the Moana Surfrider to the side. Furniture and textiles were in very good shape, and housekeeping came and went discreetly and effectively. Minifridge is empty, so you can hold all your own must-haves (from the ABC store next door [natch] and Lilihana bakery in the adjacent International Market Place). The dresser had plenty of drawer space; the closet was a touch small. The bathroom is fine, but could maybe use another design element -- the wood-look tiles on the shower wall fit the theme but otherwise it was bland if functional. I was on the top (16th) floor and couldn't hear any street noise when inside with balcony doors closed; also did not hear any hallway or adjacent room noise, so it was quiet up higher. A/C worked fine throughout the stay. The Hideout lounge is a big plus here; the food offerings are quite good and the bartenders are all excellent. They introduced themselves and remember guest names from day to day. There's plenty of seating, and it's a very pleasant environment that seems to be of Waikiki, but a little buffered from the occasional madness. The hotel is quite well-located, with the giant shopping center next door, a recommended udon place just across the street, and handy ABC store immediately next door, and an alleyway adjacent that makes it a quick walk over to the beachfront strip. I spent four of my six nights on Oahu here, and I miss it still. Wouldn't change a thing about my decision to reserve here.
