The Royal Hawaiian is truly a gem! I agree with some of the reviews on here, this property would be more fitting as part of the Autograph Collection. Property is well maintained for a hundred year old site! The lobby area is spacious and peaceful compared to other properties on Waikiki. We stayed in the historic wing for experience and the room is spacious, however,  the bathroom was very small with limited counter space. We did have a window in the bathroom which provided ventilation. Our room did not have a view worth sharing. Front desk was fairly standard. Housekeeping staff always had smiles on their faces- one younger lady even gave us some chocolate to enjoy as we passed in the hallways! Thankful for the beautiful pink water bottles provided as a welcome gift- they were so useful as they were insulated and kept our drinks cold. Such a great souvenir as well! We also were able to try the famous banana bread from the bakery- delicious! We enjoyed attending the lei making class. The pool staff are great and helpful. The pool is very small but the beach is literally steps away!

Loved this pink palace! Beautiful resort with tons of history. Very teeny tiny pool, but you can use the pool next door at the Sheraton. I loved how your room key is a water proof bracelet. Super cool. Great drinks at all the bars. Room was a little small in my opinion, but if I venture back to Waikiki, I’ll come here again.

What can I say about the majestic pink palace on Waikiki Beach?
So here it goes it is a majestic place to stay. The rooms are decorated beautifully, and we had a suite overlooking the bay that glistened sparkle and shined all day long.
The only downfall is that it is in a busy strip, but once you are there, it doesn’t matter everything just fades away
You are greeted with a complete and welcoming, loving, aloha spirit, and it just warms your soul
If you decide to go to the majestic pink palace, you will definitely thank me !

No room service or beach service?? Ever? Unbelievable!  Probably the reason why guests left their takeaway bags outside their doors in the hallway. Makes no sense. This isn’t really a 5 star if you can’t provide that.

Overall lovely hotel. Had a suite. VERY roomy however bathrooms are very small. Excellent housekeeping. Nice yoga in the morning on the lawn with coffee and chocolate croissant afterwards became a thing for me. So great a way to start the morning.

Food, otherwise was mediocre sadly. Beautiful grounds and staff in general were always keen to say aloha and smile.

Location is great for exploring and the beach access is perfect.

Probably one of the most disappointing experiences ever at a Marriott property in my many years as a loyalty member.

For starters you pay a large resort fee that doesn’t even get you access to beach chairs, which is an additional $80+ per day. Which you have to reserve far in advance to even have a prayer of getting one.

The rooms are extremely tired / dated. No character either.

There is one pool and it’s extremely small with limited seating available.

Late checkout was denied which is supposed to be guaranteed from Titanium Elites.

Gym didn’t even have any towels available when I went.

The hotel really has no redeeming qualities outside of the history.

In a vacuum I’d say you have better options. Given the price point? Avoid at all costs. It’s laughable this is supposedly a “5-star” resort. What a joke.
