My favorite style of pizza is New York style and I am so happy we got a spot for it in Kaka'ako! The sourdough crust is amazing and it's thin and everything you want in a pizza. The first time I went I noticed the pizza wasn't fresh but now it seems like they make it fresh, which yes, please keep it that way because it's a noticeable difference. 10/10!

Mad Pie is such a fun new local pizza spot, I'll definitely be going back! They do monthly specials, and I tried the Mexican pizza... soooo good. I honestly wanted to go back the next day for another slice, but they had already changed the special. The owner is awesome and super friendly, he'll chat with you if you're sitting at the counter, which makes the whole experience feel really local and personal. One of the best parts is that you can order by the slice! So many gourmet pizza places make you buy the whole thing, but here you can mix and match and try a few different kinds without committing to just one. The pizza itself is delicious, fresh ingredients, great crust, and really creative combinations. Such a cool little find and totally worth checking out! Go early to get one of the cannoli's!

Excellent new New York style pizza place in Kakaako near Down to Earth. I chose pick up using the Toast app since I didn't see a phone number listed yet. Also there's not a ton of seating so I decided to take it home. Hawaiʻi is not known for its great pizza and there's somewhat limited options compared to other bigger cities. Because of that I was excited to try something new and hoping for a new regular spot. We ordered two whole pies for four people and could've done with just one because the slices are huge! I was almost in shock when we went to pick up the boxes, the size is very generous and takes up a full plate. At first I thought $31 was pricey for a whole pie but honestly for Kakaako and the size it was very reasonable. The buffalo chicken ranch (no chicken on half for the vegetarians) was excellent. The ranch gave it a nice kick the onions were thin and cooked enough not to leave a raw bad taste in your mouth. The plain cheese was also solid. The crust was fine, could've been softer and with more flavor but not complaining either. Sometimes crust is so good I eat the whole thing, but didn't for this one. I did free parking on the Down to Earth garage, they have validation for dine-in or it's free for pick up. My order was ready on time (30 minutes from submission time) and service was quick and friendly. Would definitely come back in to try a single slice of the different varieties. It's also great that they have several vegan pies as well, something for everyone. One other thing of note is that 8 pm closing time on a Saturday seems early for a pizza place.

Food is good. I saw some people not in love with it so I headed in with low expectations! It was stellar. Served hot after a minimal wait (and they were busy). The pizza was not too greasy nor too dry. One word: epic. I got the cannoli as well and it was mid. Not the best not the worst. I would suggest to avoid the Ube flavor as it tasted like food coloring. Cost: on the pricey side but worth it to me. Location: the only down side for me. No near parking and it is well hidden down a walking path so can't drive up and run in. I'd avoid it on days they have an event in the area unless I live walking distance. The service was fast, polite, and reasonable. The place is nice and clean.

I was so excited when I found out about this place. Their pizzas look legit. The staff were friendly and the place was spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Also it's always fun to see how they're making pizzas at the back. My experience was just ok. I tried their funghi. I don't think there's enough mushrooms or garlic. I've had mushroom pizza somewhere else in Honolulu and I prefer that much more than the one here. I don't know maybe I picked the wrong flavor? So after I finished the pizza part, I tried the crust. Meh. It lacked flavor, maybe needed more salt and a bit of sugar in the dough? I dunno I'm not a pie maker. There aren't many pizza crusts that I love so much to eat though (there are but rare), and this wasn't one of the spots. As for the lilikoi panna cotta, it's quite a let down. The crumbs or whatever they put on top was not crispy or crunch at all. It's stale. I dumbed the toppings out to get to the custard part. It didn't have much creamy flavor, didn't make me want more, I also didn't finish it. Maybe my hopes were too high. I love a good slice of pizza, and I think I might need to go elsewhere instead for that...

Fun new pizza place in Kakaako. Vibe here is good and this is a new top 10 Tinder date spot in town! Here's a breakdown: Pizza (whole pie) - 4 stars for being fresh and tasty. However, being a very wide individual, I wish they had a mega toppings pizza option. Oink! Service - 5 stars plus. All workers are excellent! Atmosphere - 5 stars for having seating inside and self service water for dining in. 1 star for the little fruit flies that flock to the glass in front of the pizza. This is the main reason I didn't order by the slice. They really should find a way to deal with this. I'm not super sensitive about this kind of thing, but even I found it gross. Experience- 5 stars for a fun night of pizza, local sodas, and cannoli desserts. Aside from drosophila melanogaster extermination, one thing that I think would improve this place would be adding online or phone ordering. Without one of those, I wouldn't get takeout pizza from here.

Mad Pie is mad good. This pizzeria is by Down to Earth in Kakaako area. You can park for free (1st hour) at Keauhou Lane. The service is awesome! Everyone that works here passes the vibe check, and they dress super cool too. My buffalo chicken ranch slice was oh so delicious! My boyfriend's piggy smalls slice was tasty too. They offer both reds and whites, and even have desserts! Mad Pie had cannolis when I visited. I will be back to try more slices and buy pies! I hope they have a spinach garlic slice soon!

Such a perfect addition to the neighborhood. This is an easy walk from my office and well worth the steps! We arrived for early dinner so it wasn't crowded. The service is friendly and the cook time is reasonable for a whole pizza. We ordered the pepperoni and asked for the box to go as we could only finish half :) Dining there is clean. They offer plates, forks, knives, and napkins. Additionally they have packets of cheese and pepper flakes if you want added flavor. While they have chilled beverages available for purchase, they also offer cups for water. Our thin crust pizza was tasty! Loved the crust for flavor and texture. The tomato sauce was on point and our pizza was loaded with sliced pepperoni and the perfect amount of cheese! For dessert, we also had their cannoli which was good too. Will come back again to try the mushroom pizza :)

We saw the hype on social media and decided to come here! Staff is very friendly and fresh pizza came out fast! The atmosphere is nice and interior looks very hip and clean! We ordered a whole pizza and did half pepperoni half margarita! I personally loved the margarita, the pizza sauce wasn't super acidic nor sweet. This is my personal bias, but I wish there was more basil just because it adds a nice refreshing/spiced note to the pizza. I also loved the dough, it held its shape when being folded in half and it was crispy! However, I wasn't a huge fan of the pepperoni, it was a little too salty and oily for my liking. On another note, something that was a little off putting to me was the fact that there was a lot of fruit flies flying near the display. We weren't sure if they were selling the displays to people therefore we decided to order an entire pie just incase. Other than that, we wouldn't mind coming back! We really want to try the mushroom pizza!

The madness in Kaka'ako... After hearing all the buzz I finally made it down here thank you to Donna O and Jackie K as I got here as soon as they open which I do recommend if you're to find a seat to enjoy your slices, yup I have the complete joy to have two slices and you can decided which one just by looking at them as the menu is a visual display of each type and with five choices to choose from it was quite easy as we all love mushrooms lol! "Fungo" is exactly that with béchamel sauce along with fresh mozzarella and ricotta and the other "Supreme" has tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, Italian sausage, red onion, olive and mushrooms that I can see but am sure there's quite a bit more going on here a it was just so delicious. I've also learned that it's made with sourdough that gave it such flavor though know that if you're ordering by the slice it's being reheated but can imagine having it fresh would be even better. What's even better is dessert the first is their cookie with pistachio and chocolate chip has a touch of salt bringing this soft cookie amazing flavor, Cannolis are made to order where you're able to have with chocolate or what I chose is pistachio and yes there's another...panna cotta, this luxious stunning treat is topped with local mandarin and calamansi a bit on the tart side is simply divine. It was my first time here and though the price is on each pie if there was a menu so that you don't need to actually walk up to the display to glaze over each one to decide, drinks are grab and go only while enjoying your pie can get messy with just forks and spoon only available the restroom is at Down to Earth which isn't far but a bit inconvenient. The staff was nice and friendly to answer all our questions but there's nothing like having pies with friends. Thank you!
