Very nice beachfront park. We primarily used the beach but saw that there are grassy areas on the other side of the "boardwalk" where you can lie under the shade of palms but still be near the water. There is a nice, clean sandy beach here. Many families are there and there was only a faint weed odor while we visited (nothing more than anywhere else you go). There are also pickleball courts and bathroom facilities, and it's close to hotels and food trucks/eateries.

It's a beautiful urban park: well maintained by polite, shaka-throwing workers. Not just the beach part - be sure to wander the lovely grounds and marvel at the greenery. Watch out for crazy chickens, though!

The beach spans 71 acres and is conveniently located close to a lot of businesses, as well as, the beach. The prime location makes it even more amazing how vast and green it is! It's a great place for families, friends, and those with pets alike! There are some amenities for those looking to relax and fields for folks who want to be more active. The greenery also comes with lots of trees and shade when you want to protect yourself from the sun or tropical rain. Overall, it's an amazing place to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet if you want to escape the busy business district or beach.

Fort DeRussy Beach Park spans 71 acres and is a beach-front military reservation in Waikiki. The beach park is named after General René Edward De Russy, a US Army officer who participated in the Civil War. He was also a military fort builder and this was one of the 5 Fort DeRussys in the United States along with two in Louisiana, one in Washington D.C., and one in Kentucky. The beach area was a smaller beach compared to other ones in the Waikiki area, but that meant there were fewer people. There were great views with such blue and clear water. The park area had tables and tennis courts, racquetball courts, volleyball courts, and a children's playground. The beach park is also the location of the Hawaii Army Museum Society which was a super cool museum that I highly recommend.

Quiet clean park right in Waikiki. Chill. Grill. Beach volleyball run walk tennis or even the army museum. So much to do. Clean. Lots of open space. Also pretty well lit. Right next to hale koa hotel. And in Waikiki. Great place for you and family.

On my trip to Hawaii I planned on playing pickle ball, problem was I couldn't find a review that I could be certain that a location had pickle ball. This beach/ park has two courts right by the KOA Oasis booze shack. The courts aren't the greatest but enough to get a good game going. They have some paddle system but when I went, there weren't many players so we didn't really have to wait too long. There are bathrooms nearby and it's right on the beach. Everyone was nice and inclusive -haha not like the horrible bully Jackie lady that I keep reading about that plays at the Diamond Head tennis center. I am sure it all depends on what day you go to play, not everybody plays nice. Please remember to drink plenty of water. Between drinking alcohol and being in the sun all day the day before my feet were cramping up. I had to stop playing after four games.

2 free public pickleball courts. Sol got me a really nice paddle and I finally let him teach me how to play pickleball. There are no wind guards but it was a decent public court. There are tennis courts, tables, racquetball courts, beach volleyball, and you can rent beach activity equipment. Well maintained beach with a couple of food/drink spots. We came here every night to watch the sunset. So pretty and calming!

This park is so beautiful and relaxing. The trees are amazing to look at and provide great shade if you are looking to sit down and enjoy the weather without having the sun straight in your eyes. It is also spacious so you aren't running into anyone else.

Beautiful park, peaceful and well kept. Nice stretch of beach as well. Comfortable place to take a leisurely walk, contemplate, meditate, escape the nearby tourist crowd, or bring your spam musubi for a picnic.
