I am a long time Hertz Gold member and generally appreciate the level of service and ease I've experienced over decades but I will NEVER USE HERTZ IN HONOLULU AGAIN. 1. The app and procedure followed at HNL gave me NO OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE THE EXISTING DAMAGE REVEALED BY MY INSPECTION. 2. The online procedure gave me NO CHOICE BUT TO ACCEPT A VEHICLE UPGRADE THAT I DID NOT WANT. I specifically requested an ECONOMY vehicle, as I always have with Hertz. The online procedure gave me NO CHOICE TO DECLINE THE UPGRADE TO A LARGER, LESS FUEL EFFICIENT VEHICLE. 3. MOST SIGNIFICANTLY, when departing the Hertz lot there was a long single file line of cars. When getting into the line, Hertz employees moved cars passed us in what later was revealed to be an upcoming lane, several Hertz customers followed these cars and when we did the same, A HERTZ EMPLOYEE CAME OVER TO OUR VEHICLE AND BANGED HIS FIST ON TOP OF THE VEHICLE AND YELLED at my companion while she tried to explain to him that we were just following the other vehicles given no guidance from Hertz employees and signage. It was a disturbing experience, to say the least, which has us questioning any future use of Hertz. When I emailed Hertz about this, their response was one of indifference; they told me to go speak with the Honolulu office when I returned my car (you know, when I am trying to make a flight).

BEWARE renting from HERTZ! I rented a Hertz car on Expedia. it was my fault as I misunderstood their cancellation policy. I booked a car then realized that I wanted to pick it up a half hour earlier so I went back to the original booking and cancelled it and rebooked. I was charged $100. no exceptions. I will never book with them again.

As a gold member, I am appalled at the quality of the car and overall service during this rental. I felt they treated me like I was an inconvenient tourist when in fact, I'm local, and live here on the island. We rented at the airport because of more convenient operating hours. Everywhere else on the island is closed for the weekends or have limited hours not convenient for working Kama'Aina. The gentleman at check in was extremely rude and condescending. He was listening in on a conversation with my husband and told me "you should just cancel and go somewhere else". I was given a car with several dents , sever water spot etching that made it difficult to see out of the window and side mirrors, and many places with peeling clearcoat\paint about the size of a softball are bigger. The dark seats were severely stained and dirty in the car and overall not clean or vacuumed. Many times the car would not turn off unless you jiggled the control after putting it into park. I needed a car for a few days while mine was being serviced. They gave me a car that I was embarrassed to be in. Total junk. Overall I would NOT recommend hertz Honolulu airport location.

90 minute line then sent to another 60 minute outdoor wait. Very few workers. Terrible communication. Burned half a day here wasting time because there are no systems in place, terrible customer service. Don't reserve a car from here unless you enjoy being frustrated.

This review is specifically about our vehicle's condition. The staff was friendly during our pick up and drop off appointments. The car we had was filthy upon pick up. The exterior windows and mirrors were covered in a filmy substance. The interior had a strong, musty order and was complemented by the cigarette ash that covered parts of the cabin. Mechanically, our car was also sub-par. On the freeway, the car pulled to the right and it's rear tires hummed. None of this came as a surprise as only two tires matched on the car.

My reservation was for a economy car. But when we arrived at circa there was only electric car. They told us that the charge should last for my entire trip. That day we only went to one casino and it went down 5 percent. So we returned the car and the claim we would be credited back the entire car fir the car. But they lied they charge us for the entire week. The electric car was defective. Never rent from hertz. THEY DON'T HAVE THE CAR YOU REQUESTED FOR.

Worse car rental I've ever experienced. Will never rent hertz ever again. Wait is 30 to 60 min and after reading some reviews. It's actually pretty good compared to others who waited for 3 hrs
