Of all the small, independent vendors who sell hand rolls in Honolulu, Inari Factory is my absolute favorite! The quality of the ingredients is premium but they don't overcharge for the food. This is at the top of my cheat eats list. It never ceases to amaze me each time I go and I get a very decent (and filling) meal for $20 or less. And I usually go for the scallop and uni, which most sushi restaurants charge an arm and a leg for. Not this place! Imagine a hand roll layered with fresh scallops so you get a bite of seafood along with rice as you make your way to the very tip of the roll. Service is always super quick and the staff is very patient with all the questions from curious shoppers who aren't familiar with Japanese hand rolls. Because this is a part of the outdoor food court at Don Quixote, it feels like fast casual dining... until you bite into one of these hand rolls which will transport you (spiritually) to a fishing village in Japan.

Having missed out on the first anniversary special of $1 inari bombs at Inari Factory earlier this year, I was glad it did a year and a half anniversary with $1.50 inari bombs! Gonna be $2 at two years? Inari Factory is an eatery by Don Quijote itself, so you might find some of their items similar to the poke/seafood bar inside. It's located right outside at the food court. With any kind of sushi, the quality of rice and the preparation of the rice is of utmost importance, so seeing a sign that the rice is nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido is a great sign. It was prepared well enough. The anniversary special only pertained to specific toppings, and you can choose from inari bombs or hand rolls. We went with Unagi, Tobikko, and Ahi Tuna bombs with Spicy Tuna and Crab Salad hand rolls. Everything was pretty good. Portions were generous. Flavor was all right. Unagi was the best, followed by the crab salad. Nothing exciting, but still more than acceptable and would return to try other items. Service was efficient and I like how everything was nicely prepared and neatly boxed.

I was so excited for this place because I love inari sushi! This place is located outside of Don Quixote Kaheka. They specialize in inari bombs or stuffed inari but they also have hand rolls or temaki. I decided to try their deluxe unagi and seared salmon. They costed a bit extra (+$1 each). The regular inari bombs were 2 for $5 included some poke selection, imitation crab, ocean salad & tobiko. At 2 for $7 I was expecting a pretty decent sized inari. I was a bit disappointed when it was pretty small (2 biter for me). The unagi did have shredded tamago (scrambled egg) under the unagi. The seared salmon was also disappointing because it was fully cooked, not just seared on top. Maybe I misunderstood? Idk. The inari wrapper or abura-age was also a bit dry for my liking. You definitely need a drink to wash it all down. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place out but would not return.

Hawaii is a melting pot of its multiethnic population. This environment brings people together from all over which also introduces fusion cuisine. Step in Inari Factory (IF), which brings together Hawaii and Japan. Poke, which has also gained popularity nationwide, is a Hawaiian dish that uses raw fish that is combined with seasonings (i.e. sea salt, chili flakes) and condiments (i.e. Hawaiian seaweed, kukui nuts, onions). Pair this with inari, which is sushi rice that is stuffed into a seasoned deep-fried tofu that is shaped in a rectangle box. IF opened in January 2024, located in one of the stalls of the left-hand side entrance of Don Quijote. They boast these fancy inaris that is topped with assorted toppings, with popular ones being fresh ahi and salmon. I've noticed IF via social media and my sister previously bought me some to try when they had a promotion, but I never made my way over to their store front until just recently. In my recollection, the inari was good but was advised of the cost. Keep in mind that Japan rice is used here, so it may seem pricey, but in my opinion, this is justified of its high-quality ingredients, execution and final product. A former colleague recently came back to the islands from Japan with her nephew and wanted to meet up. We agreed on Don Quijote as the office we were going to is just across the street next. After our business matters were settled, they wanted to grab a quick lunch before going shopping at Ala Moana, and I suggested IF of its proximity and originality as these poke inari are not available in Japan. To seal the deal, I advised that it was their last day of their 1.5 yr anniversary sale of $1.50 for either inari or hand rolls. Our lucky stars were sure aligned as there was a minimal line as we arrived at 12:36pm. We were third in line and while waiting we took out our cameras and started snapping away. The next thing I noticed the line grew and now had about 10 people behind us in line waiting. The anniversary sale offerings were limited as salmon options were sold out. You could select from spicy ahi poke, shoyu ahi poke, imitation crab, ocean salad, tobiko, and unagi. For the hand rolls, they had spicy ahi poke, shoyu ahi poke, imitation crab and natto. Majority of these items were premade so ordering was simple and quick. You told the staff your items which was marked on a sheet and another staff packaged your order accordingly. The line moved quickly. After paying, you're given a number. Within a few minutes our number was called and off we went. We opted to eat at the dining area of the food court at Don Quixote to save time. We snapped a few pics and started to dig in. I got 2 each of the spicy ahi and shoyu ahi poke inari, along with 1 spicy ahi hand roll. I was impressed on the execution as the flavors were bold and fish quality. The rice was perfect. I was concerned about possibly mushy rice and unnecessary teriyaki sauce drizzle on top as I've experienced at other places. Overdressing the protein is not my cup of tea when it comes to seafood. My out of town guests were flabbergasted of this concept as poke inari doesn't exist where they're from. They were in awe of the fish quality and the flavors. Huge hit and an amazing, quick and tasty lunch where it didn't break the bank. Overall, a great first experience ordering in person at IF where I'm indeed a fan. Although the anniversary sale is over, the inari here would make a meal or Scooby snack that's tasty and satisfying.

The portion size of the inari bombs n' the topping options. Last year the inari bombs were at least double in size n' they used to offer garlic shrimp. Other than that, the sushi rice n' tofu pouches are still very tasty n' the toppings were piled on just enough to not make a complete mess. The 8pc deal is worth it n' with other food vendors around, you're most likely going to share it.

Their inari - tofu skin and rice - was good! Flavorful and even though it's premade and kept cold, the rice still had good texture. I've tried their salmon and ahi poke flavors, imitation crab, Wagyu beef and aburi salmon. Out of everything I'd say Wagyu beef was the best. The poke was ok. The salmon one had a fish bone in it so be careful!!! The other flavors were just ok. Service was a bit slow. Their ordering system doesn't make sense. I spoke my order, and the staff had to look through a long list of items in the paper order sheet to check it, so that took some time even I was just ordering 2 already-made inari from the display window. Someone in front of me had a large order and I was just standing there for 10-15 mins waiting to order my 2 pieces. The handrolls in the display case were already made and I could see the nori being a little soggy already. I hope they weren't selling those. There's also a lot of rice in it with just little protein at the top. I think handrolls have to be made to order. I think I only really enjoyed the Wagyu beef inari from my entire order. It's conveniently located outside Don Quijote of kahaka with plenty of parking (at least in their adjacent secondary lot). I was hoping I would like this place just as much as another inari place in town but sadly it wasn't for me. Hope they will come up with more interesting flavors and improve on the quality.

My kids LOVE inari sushi so it was a no-brainer that we'd stop by Inari Factory. Traditional inari is pretty basic (just sushi rice and fried tofu). It's not fancy or fussy. My kids like it for these reasons. At the Inari Factory, the humble inari get's an upgrade - in size and with toppings like poke, beef, ocean salad, imitation crab salad, etc. They do offer plain inari, but that really isn't the point of coming here. Looks like they've added a variety of hand rolls to their menu also. Good move. Located outside Don Quixote so it can get a bit crowded - but worth the chaos and wait for something different.

Frequently passing by this place every time we go to Don Quijote & always wanted to try it since I love inari. Friend told me they were having their 1st anniversary sale and each piece was $1 so decided to check it out. Went around 12pm & the line was past the Don Quijote entrance! Waited for almost 2 hours to order and then another 45mins to get our food. We ordered spicy ahi, shoyu ahi, takoyaki, unagi, and tobiko. The aburaage (tofu skin) and rice were seasoned well! They pack the inari with a good amount of filling so it took me 2-3 bites to eat it. The unagi and takoyaki were okay, just takoyaki balls and unagi with shredded egg on top. I liked the tobiko, fresh and very crunchy. The shoyu ahi was really good! Ahi was fresh and seasoned well. Our favorite was the spicy ahi. Big chunks and good flavor to them. Would definitely get the spicy ahi again. My husband went the next day to order when they opened and waited around 40mins so not as bad as the day before. They got our order wrong and gave us shoyu ahi instead of spicy ahi. Kinda disappointed but we just took the ahi & made our own spicy ahi sauce so it turned out good.
