I'm so glad I was able to fit this restaurant into my trip--it was truly a highlight! This was one of the best bowls of ramen I've ever had. Impressively, there are only two locations outside of Japan, and both are in Hawaii: this one and another at the Ala Moana food court. They also make their noodles fresh in-house daily, which makes a noticeable difference. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, with clear signs that it was made from real bone stock (you could see the collagen/fatty deposits). The noodles were cooked perfectly to an al dente texture. My partner also thoroughly enjoyed his bowl--he almost never finishes the broth, and this time, he completely cleaned his bowl. He tolerates spicy well and said he'd opt for "Fire" next time since "Hot" wasn't enough. Service was another standout. Our server was friendly and personable, and took the time to chat with us during our visit, which made the experience feel even more special!

Great service, great broth that is very strong with hints of garlic for an authentic hearty bowl of ramen. The char siu is fantastic as well, decently sized but could be bigger, nice smoky/charred taste to it as well. The noodles are also great as well, none of that sun noodle tomfoolery. I take Ramen very seriously though, having tried it both here in Hawaii and Japan, things I expect from ramen are, the ability to customize firmness, add-ons/subbing and temperature. Unfortunately its hit or miss with this restaurant. The last time I was here the soup was pretty hot but this time I didn't even need to blow on the soup... very lukewarm. Temperature matters because it cooks the noodle to some degree and also infuses the char siu with the flavor as well. When I asked if it was possible to get it warmed up I was told no which I humbly understood, maybe if I was more demanding I could've asked for a remake of the soup but I try not to give my servers a hard time. Please go and try it for yourself, it's a very intense style of ramen don't eat here expecting light flavors and clean aftermaths (why are you eating ramen at that point). I also think this is the only chain in Hawaii that serves Jiro style ramen.

Very excited to try an authentic ramen bowl from a restaurant that's also located in Japan. They are located downstairs in a food hall. The restaurants are separated so it's private and clean. The staff were helpful and the service was pretty quick. We ordered dumplings and ramen. The dumplings were fried and were okay. The ramen had a good amount of noodles! Other sides for the ramen was additional charge. It was delicious but quite pricey for the size of the bowl.

I love coming to the stix. It's so chill and relaxing. Bario by far is one of my favorite ramen places on the island. It's so flavorful and tasty. I always introduce new friends to this place. Service is always fast which is something we all can agree is good lol

We stumbled upon this awesome food hall called Asia Stix and decided to check out Bario Ramen. They're super famous in Japan for their authentic 二郎系ラーメン, and we've been craving it ever since. We ordered the extra veggie ramen (with a side of bean sprouts that were like a mountain!) and the Cilantro ramen (even though we're not big fans of cilantro, it was surprisingly tasty!). Both Ramen were absolutely delicious!

Located in the noodle street of STIX. Tasty ramen with plenty of options to choose from! You can sit at the table or on a counter. Sides are a little pricey to add into your ramen bowl. However the ramen has delicious pork that melts in your mouth. The egg was cooked perfect, not too soft and not too hard. The staff was very nice and quick.

Apparently, this is the only Ramen Bario location outside of Japan, which is kind of wild. I felt strangely honored just sitting there, like I accidentally stumbled into something exclusive. I went for the Bario Spicy Ramen ($19.98), and it delivered -- especially if you're a garlic enthusiast. There were legit garlic chunks floating on top (a few even burnt in the bottom for dramatic effect), and the whole bowl was a savory, spicy punch in the face -- in a good way, as my girlfriend likes to say. Heads-up: there's a 5% automatic gratuity added to support staff training. Totally fair, but worth knowing. The server tapped the payment screen for us, so I'm not 100% sure how much we tipped on top of that or not. My total came out to $25 so 18%. Overall, I liked it a lot. My friend, who's from Asia and has higher ramen standards than I do, said it was "good but not great." So, depending on your ramen pedigree, your mileage may vary.

「ここに食べに来てください。ラーメンは美味しいですよ。」 "Koko ni tabe ni kite kudasai. Rāmen wa oishīdesu yo", "Come eat here. Ramen is delicious." Entering the alleyways, off to the side. This narrow "street" or Yochoko 横ちょ is packed with izakayas, bars, ramen shops and various eateries + shops. All tucked away, hidden. Descending into a location called STIX ASIA Waikīkī Food Hall, I found myself enveloped by small food stalls with limited seating. Fashioned where culture and nostalgia welcome those who enter, with curiosity and hunger combined. After swimming and a long day of physical exertion, I always crave something soupy. Ramen on this cool-temp evening is what I wanted. An authentic, Tokyo-style bowl of Tonkotsu ramen. As I meandered through Yochoko 横ちょ, a sign Noodle Street 麺屋通 in STIX ASIA appeared in the far distance. I knew I would find my final destination here. After all, this ramen shop was already selected prior to my arrival. I dined here many years ago when STIX ASIA Waikīkī Food Hall was called Waikīkī Yochoko. When it first made its debut in the Waikīkī Shopping Plaza in December 2016. いらっしゃいませ "Irasshaimase" A warm verbal welcome to enter the business. And so I did. This ramen shop was bustling post sunset. Two seats at the ramen counter vs. a table, why not. With only a glass pane separating me and the boiling hot waters and steam of the kitchen. Fascinating. いただきます "Itadakimasu" Giving thanks to those who prepared my dinner, to those who were serving me, let the slurping begin. Did you know this style is encouraged in Japan? It signifies a deep appreciation for the food and to the chef. Seriously. But, my American manners somehow kicked-in. Lol. "BARIO Original Ramen. Our Signature Noodle Soup, TOKYO Dining Style. Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Soup with Thick Noodles." (Ramen BARIO menu) バリオチャーシューラーメン大 BARIO Charsiu Ramen - Large バリオマイルドスパイシーチャーシューラーメン大 BARIO Spicy Charsiu Ramen - Large (Mild Spicy) The word tonkotsu means "pork bone". Where pork bones are slow-simmered, creating a distinct flavor. The collagen and marrow dissolves into the soup. Rich, pork broth. Pork bones boiled for over 20 hours, I could see it immediately. The care, the preparation, the original process from Japan. How the ramen broth looks, the color. The complexity, absolutely amazing. Authentic. A sheer difference from other locally-owned Hawai'i ramen shops I've visited over the years. The broth, cloudy and thick, somewhat velvety. With a slight sheen, a subtle layer of fat on the broth's surface. Opaque with layers of dimensions, impressive depth. A pale, white, deep color. The creaminess, the meaty texture and that rich umami flavor. Absolutely divine. This culinary delight, many thanks to the skilled team in the exhibition kitchen. And to the founder of Ramen BARIO, Makato Iwasaki. Tokyo - Japan. Generous slices of housemade Charsiu, a mound of bean sprouts. Thick, firm and chewy ramen noodles. Unique to Ramen BARIO, custom-made and developed by Sun Noodle. An extremely filling bowl. I couldn't help myself, I finished all of it not wanting to waste a drop. It was that good. The service, a perfect balance of kindness and whole-hearted hospitality. The two ladies running the front, extended genuine empathy. Making my guest and I feel welcomed and "at home". Extremely comfortable, surpassing expectations. A memorable experience indeed. Thank you. Ramen BARIO バリウムラーメン Ramen BARIO opened their first location in Tokyo - Japan in 2010. Still serving hungry diners today, mostly Japanese businessmen with lines outside of its Tokyo Head Branch. Now with five locations in its home country, two of which found its way to the island of O'ahu. Let your hunger, your desire for something authentic lead you to this underground mall or Noodle Street 麺屋通. Experience walking through, the enjoyment of Yochoko 横ちょ. Find yourself at Ramen BARIO. ぜひまたお越しください "Zehi mataokoshikudasai", "Please come and dine here again." A friendly greeting as I departed, satisfied and extremely content. Dine here again you say? Yes, of course. I'll definitely be back.

Like another reviewer stated, Tsujita in LA is definitely my favorite came in outside of Japan. However, this place comes quite close. I ordered the egg tsukemen with spicy on the side. I like adding spice to my liking rather than hoping that mild is mild enough for me. I also ordered the noodles, hot, so that the broth stays warm longer. The broth isn't quite thick enough to stick to the noodles, like it is in Japan. However, it's still very tasty and I would definitely come back here when I visit Oahu again. Downside: Parking is NOT validated despite the parking attendant's assertion. It's only validated Monday through Friday after 5 PM. Parking in this plaza is three dollars per half an hour. Luckily there was no one waiting in line and I was sat right away, but I still paid six dollars for parking. That made my meal $34 with tip. It's a bit pricey for Ramen so I'll probably come again when parking is free or I might just wait to eat tsukemen in LA. Service fee: 5%. They also don't tell you about the service fee and don't show you the pre-tax check unless you ask to see it. When I asked for a little container to take home the spicy sauce that I paid for, she looked at me with a confused look. I told her that I would like to take home what I paid for, and she walked away and asked the kitchen (in Japanese) for a small container.
