My second time coming to the Jam! I really like coming here! It is fun to watch people and try the different Spam foods. We did Spam nachos and that ice cream pie with crispy Spam...so good! Not too keen on the entertainment this year. Some girl from the Voice had mic and speaker issues. The breakers were fun to watch. But just walking around and watching the people was very amusing! Getting into Waikiki was a nightmare for most. Good think I was staying at a hotel and parking was secure. I can't even imagine what the people were going through. Mahalo Spam Jam!

Spam Song (Official Lyric Video) - Monty Python I once clipped an article from the newspaper about an Oahu woman attacking another Oahu woman with a Spam can - smashed a spam can into her head. The article's headline said, "Spam Can Assault" (I am not making this up). I don't know if the Spam can was empty or not, but it would have been a total waste of Spam if the can exploded. I wish I could find the article; it's probably in my house somewhere because I never throw anything away. It's from the 90's and there's no record of it online. The article should go into the Spam Archives. I bring this up because it's related to Spam. And Violence. We used to make Spam and Jam Sandwiches as kids. I am surprised none of the vendors have created the Spam and Jam combo because it was pretty common where I grew up - and HELLO - it's the "Spam Jam" festival! Here's the recipe: you fry some regular flavored Spam in some butter, after the Spam is nice and fried on both sides, add a tablespoon of strawberry jam and fry until the sugar in the jam caramelizes on both sides, do not let it burn! Remove Spam and put them between two white, fluffy slices of bread slathered with mayo, so good! It's like putting honey on ham, you have savory and sweet and creamy all at the same time! You're welcome. Some of the foods my son has tried tonight listed below: Il Gelato - Spam Ice Cream - $8 for two scoops. Looked like one scoop. Smashed up into a small cup. Tried a small bite and spit Spam out. My son liked it. I don't eat meat anymore, maybe it had to do with having to eat Spam as a kid. Duke's Waikiki - Teriyaki Spam Slider - $6. Looked pretty good for six bucks. Musubi Cafe Iyasume - Avocado Egg and Spam Musubi - $6. Son liked this the most. I also saw they had Eel Egg Spam Musubi. Isn't eel super expensive? I got off cheap not having to buy the stuff because there were Spam Nachos for $15, plates of Spam-something for $18, Spam Rice and Egg Ice Cream for $10 but we didn't have none of that because we were headed to Giovanni Pastrami for pizza. TIPS: Take your own water to drink! LOTS of it. The Spam was dehydrating my son so much that he was seeing mirages in the middle of the street and trying to drink them. I refused to pay $6 for hodge podge of lemonade-this and limeade-that the vendors were selling. Take a combo of cash AND credit card. One vendor said they wanted cash instead of card, another vendor said Credit Card Only no exceptions. Go early to avoid the lines. The Spam Jam opened at 4 PM, we were there at 3:50 PM asking if they could sell us Spam stuff and they said yes. No lines then. Take toilet paper for the variety of public beach toilets. Most of them had toilet paper early on but probably not so much towards the end of the night. Take hand wipes. They will get sticky or greasy. Spam = grease. PARKING: We have a secret parking spot, but we also walked 1.5 miles to get to Waikiki. Your mileage may vary. It's a good idea to walk miles and miles after you ingest Spam anyway. RETURN FACTOR: I would go back if they had some vegetarian Spam offerings.

This was a fun event to go to! It was packed, as is expected, so the lines got really long, but my boyfriend and I would split up into different lines to get our food/beverages a little faster. If you're looking for creativity, this is it. I'm a food explorer so I wanted to try all the unique spam offerings and I'll admit, I didn't really like most of them, but now I know that for a fact and I don't necessarily regret it. It's interesting to be able to say I tried a hojicha tea with cheese foam and honey-glazed spam (yup. I drank spam); a spam, rice, and eggs ice cream (it's more like a custard so don't be too afraid); and a spam wellington (this was pretty good! The pastry was perfectly flaky)! Not spam-related, but our favorite of the night was the sampler from Corner Rolls! Each and every single flavor was amazing and I'll honestly be thinking about it for a long time coming. Oh, and we got fruity pebbles and Dubai chocolate stuffed cookies that were also delicious. There are also some free goodies you can get at the Longs Drugs booth and I heard you can get free Redbull as well although I didn't stand in line for that one. There are some photo ops spread around and live entertainment. It runs down the entire street so it was a really nice way to end our night.

I think if you know what you're doing when you get here, then itll be more enjoyable. We went at 7 pm and wow it was packed. We couldn't really walk around or check out the booths due to lines and excessive crowds. I understand it's an event that would be busy but I don't think the spacing of everything was great. It was very overwhelming. The food was good, and the booths I went to had a shorter line so I went to them. I got spam nachos. They were pretty good but wish they had a crispier spam to go on top. The bao was delicious and only $5 for the two. If you're okay with crowds and waiting in line for a long time, then go for it. Otherwise I would skip next year.

Spam Jam is always a good time! Great food, lots and lots of spam, and fun entertainment. There were 3 stages this year and sooo many food vendors. I had the gochugang bao buns from Basalt and omg they were soooo yummy. It was really crowded but not impossible to navigate and lines weren't too bad. If you plan to attend next year's event I recommend going early, like before 4pm as traffic was a mess.l around 5:30-6pm. Thank you Spam Jam for another awesome year of spamtastic fun

Aside from the crowded and the traffic for parking, spam jam is foodie heaven! And we get to have it every year! There was some really creative dishes this year. It's pretty much exclusive cause you can't get these at their regular restaurants/shops.

Living in Hawaii my whole life, this was my first time going to Waikiki Spam Jam. Of course we Kalakaua being blocked off, there was heavy traffic and it took us over an hour to get there when we left at 4:00pm. Spam Jam was pretty crowded. It was lively and most of the vendors have long lines. The line goes by pretty quickly since most prepared the foods beforehand. Adobo hapa sliders: The sliders were from Eating House 1849. The sliders were pretty good but it was hard to take a bite out it since it was thickly stacked. The sauce was tasty and with the melted cheese it helps add moisture to the burger. It was pretty messy to eat. Spam nachos: The spam nachos were from Lapina Cantina. We didn't enjoy the nachos. The queso cheese was flavorless and it was pretty lumpy. The bean sauce and the green sauce were also flavorless, barely any seasoning to them. We couldn't finish this. Spam Bao: The spam bao was from Moani. The spam bao was overly sauced and salty. From the picture you can see that the spam was drenched dark with their teriyaki sauce. Compared this to the photos in their IG, the bao we got was not ideal. It was inedible because it was just too salty. Hula pie with candies spam: The hula pie was from Dukes. The hula pie was very good. I love the ice cream and the gooey chocolate sauce. It helps wash away the saltiness from the spam bao. The macadamia nuts were fresh and crunchy. We weren't fan of the candied spam so we just picked them off. Pancit with lechon and spam: The pancit was from Dicks Lechon. The pancit has a good texture but a little under seasoned. The vinegar and the lechon sauce helps add more flavors. The lechon was excellent. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy with a good amount of fat. Overall, it was a fun experience. Some of the foods were a hit and a miss. We did enjoy the different live entertainment. We were pretty full so we couldn't try the other vendors but there were many that look interesting and unique.

We really had a great time at the Waikiki Spam Jam 2024! The vendors really brought their A-game with Spam-infused treats and ono creations that could make even a hangry volcano smile. We were also so delighted to see Anuhea's performance, the Spam Musubi song was very timely and her new song Lotus has a great message. Go check it out! Mahalo nui loa to the organizers for putting on such a Spam-tacular event!

Fun filled evening with lots of people. And I mean a lot of people. Tons of tourist and locals alike. I love spam. So having a wide variety of dishes that is made with spam from these different vendors which we could sample, we were excited to sample. They also had cute spam merchandise however pls have more T-shirt sizes. The larger sizes tent to get sold out so quickly.
