Flew on WestJet from HNL to Vancouver (YVR). Don't arrive to the terminal more than 3 hours from your flight time (see photo). I tried to find the ticket counter times online, but nothing even on the WestJet website. We had time ... so we arrived about 4.5 hours before our flight thinking we could drop off our bags and walk around the airport. Big mistake. The whole WestJet ticket counter area will be abandoned with no agent or any staff to be seen until the 3 hours prior to the flight. We were stuck with our checked bags until then. Flight was fine, and our bags made it. Nice that there are power outlets for phones and tablets at every seat. It seems they are no longer using Thomas Cook planes, the planes we flew on were new WestJet planes.

Everything. So, I'm here in honolulu, waiting for my flight. I get an email telling me that my last 2 flights for being home is canceled. Nothing. After delaying 2 hours for "PLANNED maintenance". Planned. But asking us to be here at previously planned time. Nothing s how I'm getting home. Apparently, it's because of strike actions. So... are you really telling me that you didn't know BEFORE I was checked in? Before less than 12 hours to my transfer? Really? Not to mention terrible comfort and we'd rather eat anything else than what the offer as "meals". They also did the changing my flights while I'm checked in for my way TO honolulu... by switching it with a flight that has a 22 minutes transfer window. Took me 4 hours on the phone, night before my flight (the email came in at midnight) to fix this. I actually had to be the one giving her what flight path to give me. The consequences were that we had HORRIBLE seats, by the bathroom, that smelled terrible. I am NEVER going with westjet ever again. At this rate, it's costing me more than a better airline, with a direct path. It's MANAGEMENT the issue, not a strike. Actually, I'm at Calgary airport now..it's taking me forever to get my luggage as they transferred it to transfers for a non-existent flight. Such disrespect to clients. Just run for your life.

We flew from Honolulu to Vancouver with WestJet. The flight was so incredibly hot, even in the upgraded seating we paid extra for. We asked the flight attendant how come it was so hot and she said it was just a technical issue with the plane. After our trip we flew back from Vancouver to Honolulu on a different plane with WestJet and it was even hotter. The overhead fans didn't work either. It was so bad that two of our kids threw up and hubby threw up too. The kid behind us with a different family threw up too. It was a nightmare! Not sure how they can send planes out in that kind of condition multiple times with technical issues, but it for sure makes us not want to book with them again. Flying with three kids under the age of five is hard enough under normal circumstances but only extremely got air for a six hour flight?! What a huge disappointment!

As anyone who travels is aware sometimes things happen that are outside your control. Tickets are expensive you see the margins and you hope that you can make it happen since you can't get your money back anyways after you book. So you are committed. However for west jet they don't really care about this fact or their customers when something like what happened to me happens. For them if you are 2 mins late to drop off your bag when you were right next to the terminal because the baggage for your arriving flight took 30 mins that doesn't matter to them. I arrived in Rome at 12:45. My bags finally came out at 1:20 with 5 mins to make the 1:25 check in closure. At 1:27 westjet was gone. No ticket office , no representatives, only a phone number to call . Still could have made my flight , still could have got my bag on the plane . When I called they just read the policy word for word . No customer support , no compassion . $1000 to westjet and no flight for me. Had to purchase another flight same day at a more expensive cost just to get home . Never again will I use this company. Nor will I suggest anyone else to use this company .

This was our first experience with WestJet and I don't regret it in the least. WestJet is like the Canadian version of Allegiant airlines, less the extended delays and crabby flight attendants. We booked it online with a 25% off coupon that a friend gave me and I was happy to see that we essentially got one of our tickets for free. I think we paid about $370 RT, and from Hawai - that's a bargain. Like Allegiant, we had to pay to reserve our seats, but since we have 4 yr old twins (they couldn't guarantee they would be sitting with us otherwise), we went ahead and got them. It was $18 each way, per person. We got one bag checked free each plus two car seats. Not too bad, Delta charges $25 each even though it's technically an international flight. The inflight service was very good. They offer free coffee, tea and soda. They also offer alcohol and meals for a fee. WestJet flies the Boeing 737-800 to and from Hawaii (direct flight). It's a small plane, but it's the same one that Alaska airlines flies to the islands as well. I tend to prefer the larger planes mainly because of the seating pattern (3x3 vs 2x4x2, etc) and more washrooms. Sadly, our plane didn't offer in seat entertainment, but they do give you the option of renting a tablet with movies, TV and games for $5. The counter service both in Honolulu and Vancouver was exceptional. The ticket agents were smiling and helpful - a pleasant change from domestic carriers. Thank you WestJet, we'll be back.

Sleezy. Let me book a flight yet they don't even have service to Honolulu( due to covid). They won't give me my money back because I don't own the original form of payment. I don't have the credit card from years ago. They don't answer their phones either. NEVER book westjet

Customer service is great at West Jet. They are a low cost carrier and try to keep cost down. They have newer 737-800 airplanes but no frills. All coach seating. NO first class. Mainly leather seating aircraft. G

Please don't fly this airline. Their customer service is awful. I had a flight booked to Vancouver in May 2020 but had to cancel because my cruise to Alaska was cancelled. Although the cruise line and Alaska Airlines (who I was returning home from Alaska on) refunded me in full, Westjet refused and would only credit me in their travel bank less $50 for cancelling my flight. My travel bank dollars will expire on March 2022 and I have made several attempts to reach them to ask them to refund my money since for most of this pandemic they were not allowing US Citizens into Canada. I have been trying for weeks to speak to someone from the company but they only have automated messages and keep sending you to their website to use their on-line robot chat line. When I was finally able to reach someone at their Guest Support office, the person hung up on me as I was trying to explain my problem. Stay away from them. They do not care about the customer. They only care about money.

Direct to Vancouver, Canada! It's a small plane and all economy but it was not bad. The smoothest flight I've had in a long time. No turbulence! There was also no free food, blanket, or pillow! I always thought you got free food, and alcohol for international flights. Not the case with West Jet but then it's a short flight. They had individual Galaxy Tablets for $5 which was nice. I finally got to see American Hustle and part of Her. I had a great seat mate that gave me nice tips for Vancouver. Coming back to Honolulu, we cleared customs in Vancouver so when we arrived to Honolulu, we just went straight to baggage claim! That was awesome. I don't know if it's that way for all Canadian flights.

The plane has a lot of leg room. I am 6'1... the flight attendants are very rude. The flight from HNL to Vancouver all the attendants in the back of the plane were very sad and RUDE. Then the flight from Vancouver to HNL. there was one in the back that was very rude to my 8yr old son. Then she was bragging about it to another flight attendant. ... Walter H. Hawaii
