I visited 4 times when I first moved here. Was so excited as I love my seafood and fish. My favorite thing when I'm down in Jalisco. Well food was "ok". Nothing to beef about. I felt it a bit pricey, but again, I'm happy to pay for good food. What got me was the volume of the space. I love Mariachi music, but this is not the venue for it. It's an older concrete building and the sound echoes. I couldn't even have a conversation with the person next to me at the bar let alone hear the bartender. I think it's a great concept and also a wonderful way to support local musicians (myself being one) but loud brass in that space is a no go.

I visited El Nuevo Vallarta tonight with a couple of friends, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks along with a sushi roll called El Solecito. Shortly after, we asked the bartender to place our entrée orders -- one pasta, one shrimp empanadas, and I ordered arroz con mariscos estilo diablito. There was a bit of confusion when the bartender couldn't find my dish in her system, so I showed her the photo from the menu to confirm. When the food began to arrive, the sushi came out along with the pasta and my rice dish. My friend and I tried a piece of the sushi and quickly realized it was the wrong roll. We informed the bartender, who called the manager. That's where things went downhill. The manager came over and, rather than offering help, immediately hit us with, "If you knew the sushi was wrong, why did you take a bite?" I was honestly stunned by the tone and attitude. I explained it was our first time at the restaurant and that we wouldn't have known it was the wrong roll without trying it. Still, the manager continued to be rude and dismissive. I told her plainly that I wouldn't be paying for something I didn't order, especially if she wasn't going to help us fix the situation -- she walked away with visible attitude. The rest of the meal didn't improve. The pasta and my rice dish were so spicy they were nearly inedible -- and I enjoy heat, so that's saying something. Meanwhile, my other friend never even received her empanadas. After waiting over 20 minutes, we had to ask the bartender to cancel them altogether. To top it off, the music was obnoxiously loud -- not in a fun, upbeat way, but in a way that made conversation difficult and the atmosphere uncomfortable. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I was shocked by the poor customer service and lack of professionalism from management. This experience left a bad taste in every sense, and I won't be returning. There are plenty of places that value their customers -- I'd rather take my business there.

This place was recommended to go and it was the worst place I have ever been to. We asked for water with lime and we got a lemonade so that we can get charged 4.00. My husband asked for el chapazon spicy and he got onion and garlic sauce and that is what they said the spicy sauce was. I ordered the torre de marriscos dish and everything was shreaded like ceviche. My bill came out to 126.00 and we didnt even eat anything. Gratuity is automatically included so the waitress gave two craps that we were not happy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Came here with a few others because it was close and it seemed like a party was going on outside so loud we could hear it. El Nuevo Vallarta seems to have mostly seafood on its menu. It still has a few vegetarian items though. Beverages include margaritas of course. The food mostly wasn't for us except the guacamole but this was worth coming in to get some. Bring earplugs. It gets fucking loud in here. They have a mariachi band or whatever playing and singing full blast and it makes ears hurt so forget about having conversation because you can't hear shit. It was the only complaint from us besides the lack of vegetarian food. This is mostly a seafood restaurant with stuff like fish and shrimp. About the only thing we could have was guacamole. The margaritas are pretty authentic tasting. It's $11.99 for the regular. This is made with house tequila. As for the food we got a Guacamole Side. It's $4.99 and it comes decorated with some tortillas. This is also more authentic than typical. It's chunky. This has a mild spice of cilantro and lime. For not being that vegetarian friendly it was good. It still had a few things to get and we liked it. The bands are loud and it can be hard to hear others talking.

Celebrating my moms 98th birthday, I called ahead and was told that Mariachis would be there between 5 and 5:30. I got there at 5:15 . No mariachis. We had a lovely meal . Waited 2 hours and mariachis never showed up. I asked twice and was told they were on the way. We left at 7:40. Mom was really looking forward to mariachis. Restaurant should be upfront and tell the truth. I do not think I will be going back . I did call back out of curiosity at 8 p.m. and was told Mariachis would be arriving soon. Why lie???

We went there for dinner. As soon as we were seated a photographer offered to take our picture for $30, we politely declined. Within a few minutes a man offered to draw a sketch of my daughter for $35. We agreed based on the quality of his samples, needless to say I'm pretty sure the samples weren't drawn by him - we took it all in stride and laughed it off. The band also came asking to play a song for us, more $$ . The drinks: The Paloma - the lime soda was actually warm paired with the other ingredients I ended up with a luke warm paloma - disgusting. The margarita - very little liquor and super sweet. The cantarito - had apples in it... apples! It's supposed to be all citrus in a cantarito. It was very sweet too as if they added sugar maybe they messed up their simple syrup I can't see why everything was so sweet. Not good at all. The food: I really liked the caldo de 7 mares it was sooooo good. My husband had a large chapuzon del mar and he didn't care for it, it's supposed to have a mix of seafood and it only had shrimp and octopus. The camarones al mojo de ajo were good. The empanadas were very skimpy on the shrimp. All in all we will not be returning, super expensive for the quality of food and drinks we received. .

An hour and a half for food is unacceptable. Seems like the whole restaurant (which was only 4 more tables) got every plate before us. And this was on a Wednesday by the way. Server barely came to the table as well.
