All the stars because our server, Michelle, was the friendliest, kindest server. She took the time to talk to us and comment on the kids. She made our kiddos Mickey and Minnie pancakes extra special and brought out sprinkles that they could decorate their pancakes with. I ordered the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with cream cheese butter. It was tasty though somewhat basic. My "over-medium" eggs and bacon were both cooked perfectly. Left wishing we had a Michelle back in Texas!

Here's the story: After a night of yelling lyrics at the Post Malone and Jelly Roll concert at Wrigley (Go White Sox), I woke up hurting. I needed grease, coffee, and good vibes! So I took my girlfriend to Maple & Jams, planning to eat and work a bit. I ordered the country fried chicken -- 7/10, notes to come. My girlfriend ordered the skirt steak. We were vibing... until the waitress suddenly paused and dropped the phrase: "Just so you know, the skirt steak is market price." Now hold up. Since when is skirt steak being traded like lobster or gold bars? At brunch? At a breakfast spot and why did she feel the need to warn us?! So my girlfriend asks, "Well, what's the market price?" The waitress -- almost shocked we were still down -- blurts out $39.99. My girl looked at me like what?! But the waitress's whole energy -- nervous, almost apologetic -- blurts out $39.99, that told me everything I needed to know. She wasn't the problem. This is clearly something they've been told to say. And you can tell she's probably had to deal with people flipping out about this before. We kept eating, but something didn't sit right. I eventually looked up from my laptop and asked my girl, what she say the price was?! She repeated it: $39.99. I almost choked. I googled skirt steak brunch prices out of curiosity -- average is $14.99-$18.99, maybe $25 max at a fancy spot. This wasn't that. This wasn't a luxury dining experience. This was a $40 brunch trap disguised as "market value." Here's where it gets worse. When we finished and asked for the receipt? They didn't even give us an itemized bill. Just a total. No breakdown, no prices, no transparency. That's when it really hit me -- not only was I overcharged, but I wasn't even given the chance to review or question it. Let's be clear: That's stealing. Slapping the term market price on a random breakfast item and using it to charge steakhouse prices without warning? That's not trendy, it's deceptive. And it's a real shame. Because the food is good. The atmosphere is great. And it feels like a place built on care and hospitality. But when you see shady practices like this, it sends a clear message: They care more about squeezing a few extra dollars out of your pocket than treating customers with honesty. So to anyone thinking of eating here -- enjoy the food, but ask about pricing upfront. Especially if the words "market price" come up. Because you might end up paying double for something you could've gotten better (and cheaper) just down the street. I came in hungry. I left full -- and finessed.

Better than last visit though there was a slight stench of something moist in the air. Not sure if sewer, but food was good. Server was on point for most part except when asking for take out containers; took a bit. Water guy didn't speak though he spoke to other tables. The female cashier didn't say anything until she swiped my debit card and asked if I wanted to leave a tip. No hi, no thank u which means last time patronizing this spot.

We ordered the omelette and breakfast sandwich and enjoyed the breakfast sandwich the most. It was loaded with turkey bacon and cooked nicely. The omelette was alright while the potatoes carried the meal. The pancakes were too crispy on the outside and not just on the edges so it gave it a weird dry texture. We didn't finish those. But I'd return any day for a breakfast sandwich. It was also really hot inside the restaurant. Idk if it was bc it was early morning but it was almost unbearable.

The food was as amazing as other Yelpers have indicated. The ambience is great for breakfast or lunch and the service is awesome. In fact, the service is the reason for my 5 stars. The food came out cold and I had to send the potatoes back twice however, our server was on top of her game (Vickie)! My wife had the banana foster French toast. The description was correct when it described this as decadent. Me on the other hand, my breakfast was basic (personal choice) eggs, house potatoes and sausage. Hmmm, the sausage was better than normal and Vickie did not mislead me by recommending the sausage. You should not leave this place hungry because the portions are great! They have a wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes to explore. This was a great breakfast before heading home! Merry Christmas!

I had been attempting to visit Maple N Jams Cafe during the family's annual day after Thanksgiving brunch, but I'm glad I wait because we have a party of eight, this location doesn't take reservations, and there's definitely a 20-minute wait. The waitresses are super-friendly and knows the local return visitors. The hubby had the buttermilk pancakes with a build your own omelette, a healthy side of hashbrowns and pancakes. His omelette included chicken, chorizo, mushrooms and jalapenos. I was a little adventurous and got the House Skillet and Stuffed Strawberry French Toast. Well maybe I was too adventurous because the french toast had an option of using glazed strawberries and usually that is too sticky and thick with cornstarch and I'm not a fan, but without it, the french toast is pretty dry. That's okay, I took them home and used some authentic strawberry syrup which made this dish so much better. The skillet had a great savory flavor too, the eggs were fluffy and the all the ingredients melded so well together! This restaurant definitely has something going here! :-)

I had an issue with a GrubHub order last week and Michelle the manager stated to reorder this week and they would take care of it. Martin who works for Michelle went above and beyond taking care of it. Not only was my order replaced it was also delivered by Martin personally. He is a wonderful employee! The food at Maple and Jams is beyond excellent! I especially cannot say enough about your biscuits and gravy. Good luck at your business, I hope you stay around for a long time!
