ANCHOR'S AWEIGH ((REVISITED)) Hampton Social hasn't lost any of its luster despite skyrocketing prices. Last weekend my wife and met a few friends here for dinner to celebrate her thirty-seveight-ish birthday (let's call it 35 + a couple). We had a lovely time as we've done in the past, and everybody thought the nautical vibes -- what I call "Martha's Vineyard chic" -- were the coolest thing. Shout out to the anchor lamps in the (incredibly clean) bathrooms! Once seated, we ordered drinks for the table: a couple house frosés ($16) for the ladies and Stella Artois ($7/ea) for the men. Later on, our better halves each got a Pink Reverie ($17) and towards the end the women got espresso martinis ($17) while the guys watched them talk faster with more hand gestures. We started with a dozen raw oysters on the half shell, a mix of east coast (small & briney) and west coast (slightly larger & sweeter). One dozen set us back $50, which comes to nearly $4.25 per oyster, more than I can recall paying anywhere else. Yes, I know they're not plucked from the bottom of Lake Michigan. The calamari ($20) was a solid appetizer and included some giardiniera-type veggies in the tempura mix; it came with garlic aioli and cocktail sauce for dipping. Our friends focused on Hampton Social's pizzas, one truffle mushroom ($21) and one classic pepperoni ($21) which they said were very good. The New England clam chowder ($12 for a bowl) was delicious and the kitchen was kind enough to split it into two smaller cups for us, since they only offer one large size and our friends didn't want a serving that big. They also enjoyed a Caesar salad ($17) that came with a crispy bacon strip. For entrees, I got the fish & chips ($27) while my wife ordered the steak frites ($40). I loved that the flaky cod had more of a panko crust and not a heavy beer batter (which is what I've come to expect from pubs). My wife noted that her skirt steak was cooked closer to medium-well than mid-rare, giving it a tougher texture. Bread = 4 Circuses = 4.5 The table loved the doughnut drops ($13), wonderful beignets dusted in powdered sugar with chocolate sauce and vanilla gelato. The key lime pie ($13 for a miniscule slice) had good flavor with a graham cracker crust, but holy smokes what a ripoff! Looking back at my photos and prior review from 2018, I saw that the same exact slice cost $9 and I noted that it was really steep for the portion size back then. Well, seven years later the portion hasn't changed at all but the price of pie went up 40%?? Explain, please! * TL;DR * Seven years necessitates a re-evaluation, and as much as I'd like to give Hampton Social the same rating I gave them before, they're charging WAY too much for certain items. Apart from French cuisine and some Italian places, seafood is arguably the most expensive type of restaurant you can dine at. I knew that going into our dinner date, but when the final bill came ($475), I calmly tossed my Discover card down even though I was screaming internally. I'm okay with them adding an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill, as service was fine and we'd likely be tipping that percentage anyway. What I take exception with is the cost of a single pizza ($20!), a Caesar salad ($17!!), and of course the key lime pie (it's lime juice, egg yolks, and condensed milk, people! Not emeralds and rubies!) Financial hang ups aside, I'd still recommend Hampton Social as a place to celebrate life's milestones or just meet up with friends over frosé. Just prepare yourself for some moderate sticker shock.

I read the reviews and I was hoping I get the same positive results, which I did not. We were placed somewhere close to the washroom. The waitress was very informative, the menu was limited. I ordered a wagyu burger and fried calamari (vegetable fried with calamari) $20. The burger was ok for $30. Overall the food was decent but not spectacular for the cost. The interior was bright and clean. 20% tip is added to bill automatically.

We have been to Hampton Social a couple of times over the past couple of weeks, but unfortunately won't be frequenting much because as many Yelpers highlighted, the costs are quite astronomical. Service was great, so didn't mind that they had an 18% set gratuity (in fact, we tipped above that). However, the cost of the food is so high to the point of feeling egregious and not responsible given current economic stressors. The food was good, but for the value of what you get to what you pay, you will potentially be left hungry and disappointed by how much you spent. Hoping they're able to find a way to control expenses as we'd come back! Just not a regular spot for us.

When you read the reviews-read all of them, not just the good ones. Noted that it seems they only respond to positive reviews, have nothing to say about the ones that aren't positive. Not impressed with the menu, food, pricing for brunch. I can't stand establishments that nickel and dime you. The brunch menu is ridiculously overpriced. $21 for a breakfast sandwich consisting of a scrambled egg, one small piece of pork belly, and an unimaginative cup of fruit. The sandwich came on a croissant; I requested it on bread instead-they upcharged me $3-so, $24 for an egg sandwich?? Additionally, it seems to me that two half-slices of bread is less costly to them than a croissant? Yet, a double burger with chips is $23? The server asked if my daughter wanted a different side from chips and offered Mac & cheese-never mentioned that this cup was an upcharge of $6, so $29 for a burger? We paid $175 (they included an 18% service charge) for 3 breakfast sandwiches, a burger and a plain breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, toast. also ordered Brussels sprouts and fries ($30). A "Virgin Mary", basically a glass of tomato juice was $11). Won't go back, there are other restaurants that are more reasonably priced with a more imaginative menu that is up front with pricing. Disgusted.

I was on a work trip and this place was really close to our hotel. Went in with no expectations and wow I was taken by suprise. Food was really good and fresh, great plate decoration as well. The beet salad was so flavorful, fish quality and cooking of salmon and ahi tuna dishes was also great. Great sauces and veggie selections. They must have recently upgraded their menu because what we got doesn't look like the other photos people have been posting. Do yourself a favor and try this place when you're near by and you won't regret it!

Got the spinach dip and it was good. Also got the mocktail rose. Got the burger. It was delicious. I was shocked to see a mandatory gratuity for only 2 people.

Hampton Social restaurants all have a great vibe. Relaxed, coastal and pleasant. I arrived with a friend toward the end of Happy Hour. The musician was fantastic. His music was easy and fit perfectly with the atmosphere. Our cocktails were delicious. They weren't too sweet and were expertly created. We ordered a few appetizers to share and it worked out great. The Crab & Shrimp Bruschetta was tasty but was more of a seafood salad mix instead of a more simple version of just fresh seafood. The Brussels Sprouts were fantastic. Rich yet light in flavor. And the Tuna Tartare was my favorite. The combination of all the ingredients were magical together. Our server was a young guy who was so professional and personable. He took his time, offered suggestions and checked on us often. He made our evening even better. I'm wish I remembered his name...

This was my first time here with my family of eight on the Tuesday prior to Christmas for our 12 noon lunch reservation on OpenTable. My family included three preschoolers. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the staff to arrange our booth on the left bar side rear of the restaurant. I enjoyed my two Boathouse Spice cocktails with tequila, lime, mango, and cayenne for $16.95 each or $33.90 total. I was not so hungry, therefore I enjoyed my tuna tartare appetizer with avocado, honey chili vinaigrette and taro chips for $20.95. See my pic. My total bill was $353 excluding gratuity. Julian D. served us very well. After I returned home I realized I earned American Airlines loyalty points because this restaurant participates in the American Airlines AAdvantage Dining program. My COSTCO VISA credit card is enrolled in the AAdvantage Dining program. I am also a member of the United Airlines similar loyalty point dining program. We agreed we will return here again for lunch or dinner.
