Came here to see a Chain Smokers concert. The space was easy to get through with no long lines to enter the venue. The drinks were very expensive. $12/14 for a beer and $22 for a cocktail. The venue could use a lot more bathrooms. The line for the women's restroom was always very long for the whole evening. The space is cool looking being right on the lake especially on a wed and sat when you can see the fireworks from navy pier. The venue needs more seating. It was standing room only except for a very few seats in the VIP/ADA section. I would only come here for a show if I could bring in a collapsible chain with me since there was a lot of waiting around.

Their New Years Eve event is trash. DJ's remixed every recognizable song into the ground, while the rest you couldn't even dance to. They actually thought they were doing something. The food was cucumbers. hummus, and pasta salad. Mind you no one is expecting gourmet meals but these tickets were upwards of 150 dollars with groups paying multiple hundreds. On the way out of the venue we hear music and a little spot called Windy City Ribs at Navy Pier is popping so hard passers-by, police, security, and people leaving other events stop, dance and get drinks (not the police). We sat there a little over an hour to help salvage the night.

Do not waste your money!!! The fancy, VIP, overpriced NYE 2022 was AWFUL!!!! The private food stations included one food station with extreme minimum appetizers. Barely any appetizers to begin with, lasted about 30 min. The VIP liquor selection included the cheapest tequila and canned spritz. If you want a table, make sure you pay extra just to sit down . Oh, and the decorations. There was none!!!! Lastly, coat check in costs $5 per person. Save the $500!!!

The NYE AON Grand Ballroom is 1000000000% Trash. If you never believe another review, please believe this one. The juice is not worth the squeeze. ONE food station of cold, tasteless pasta salad, hummus, veggies, and crackers. No hot food at all. The drinks are not top shelf and the bars have the exact same whether it is VIP or not. We purchased a table and it was only good for sitting down. The party favors are from Wal-Mart that read Happy New Year. You can not see the fireworks AT ALL as described! By the end of the night the patrons that were on the floor are vomiting, way too drunk, the floor is wet from spills, and you absolutely can not get an Uber/Lyft. Ladies please do not wear heels if you decide to go against this review and still attend. You will not be able to get to the described drop off. You will have to walk a very long distance and it is just not worth your time. You are better off going somewhere else like a hotel with a nice view or some rooftop that allows you to see the pier at a high distance. Total waste of time and your money. Please find another place to celebrate your NYE.

I came here for the free admission Chicago Beach art installation. I arrived on the last day around noon. The line to get in was three hours, which was to be expected. Aon Grand Ballroom has many events, some that are in high demand. From the ballroom entrance, you can see out towards the Lake. It's a postcard worthy view. Staff added great hospitality to this experience. I would like to come here again for a different event. It's something fun to do. Next time, I will go on an off day to avoid long wait times!

3.5 Stars This ballroom is FAR!!! Lol. I've been to Navy Pier now for a few events and they always end up being in the AON Grand Ballroom. If you take a taxi they drop you off at the front of Navy Pier. All of the events I've attended at the ballroom have been pretty fancy. It feels like you walk a mile just to get there. I've gotten smarter though and have just worn comfy shoes or do a change once I arrive. I was recently here for the Choose Chicago First Bites Bash. The room was packed! This venue is nice for large events. Over 60 restaurants were set up with food displays and it never felt like I had to wait a long time in any of the lines. My favorite part of the venue is the ceiling. Very grand and beautifully designed! Over ALL compared to the venues I have frequented this one world be about a 3 1/2 stars.

Came here for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band concert during Lobster Festival on a Friday night. I was able to get a pair of complimentary VIP tickets, which granted us access to the balcony level. It truly is a grand place, very open space. The music can be heard clearly whether you're on the main floor or on the balcony towards the back. However, your view might be obscured depending on where you stand on the balcony. The restrooms aren't pristine clean but are in decent conditions (in other words, not trashed or very dirty). On the sides of the stage where the balcony entrances are located, it can become confusing. There are a couple of doors and paths that you can take and won't lead you back to the main area. At one point, we entered a deserted area that was borderline creepy. We made it out of that ballroom alive though!

This place is huge!! We came to celebrate the Indian festival of colors "Holi" which the city of Chicago did an amazing job at delivering. We had the best time playing colors at Beer Garden and watched performances at AON ballroom!!
