Atrociously slow and under staffed at the check in desk......took us 50 minutes in line before we finally saw one of the two agents they had staffed on a Friday afternoon (there were at least 4 other computer terminals available for workers) - meanwhile, we watched EVERY OTHER car rental provider (including jointly owned Budget) power thru their customer service lines quickly and efficiently.......once we got to our car, we self scanned out with TWO workers sitting in the exit booth watching - of course the device to let us out broke, so the TWO workers had to call another worker who had the key to reset the machine - which the two workers told us breaks frequently - absolute cluster fuck - moving forward I'll pay more to avoid Avis - also, one of the two workers at the check in allowed a customer to go outside to get better cell service and did NOT have the next person in line step forward - horrifically inefficient and reflective of how front line staff at this location feels about waiting customers (picture below).......two other notes of interest.....as a regular car renter, I've NEVER been asked "Where are you going?" In an "I need to know so I can approve it" way......I have had workers ask in a fun, I hope you enjoy it way......this was rude, intrusive, and none of her business......the car was rented to be picked up and dropped off at the same location......the worker also TOLD me after I declined the gas's option "you'll need to bring a receipt from a gas station within 5 miles of the airport when you drop it off".......Two words.....Fuck & You!!! But guess what, we did it and we were NOT asked for it......F&Y!!!!

I do not recommend this location. They do not call you to let you know they don't have cars when you come to pick up. Took a uber all the way here, only to be told they were sold out of cars. Poor communication and poor customer service.

I had a great experience with needing a SUDDEN NOTICE RENTAL due to a hit n' run and my rental was definitely HASSEL FREE and so was our return. I highly recommend this location, and Agent Julio is doing an AMAZING JOB at putting the customers needs FIRST and in a TIMELY FASHION and he's VERY PATIENT and KIND.

Horrible customer service. Booked a full size car with upgrade however received a full size and advised no availability. I went on app while in front of Julio M who says he's the manager and saw premium vehicles available. He says that's for the entire Avis pool and catches an attitude. I know from being an Avis customer for years if no vehicles are available the app will say sold out. I modified reservation to keep for weekend and will be utilizing my other Avis location. Best of luck Julio and Avis 8181 S. Cicero.

The worst customer service ever! A complete scam. They changed my reservation with out my Consent and increase my fees by 90 percent. Refused to honor my initial reservation even after presenting my reservation confirmation. They wanted social security information up front which seem really suspicious. They were rude and mocking me and my family. I have never experienced such terrible customer service. Will never use Avis ever again.

Horrible customer service experienced while dropping off car. Found out that they added insurance to my total without asking! Even though I prepurchased insurance through Priceline. They "manager " was rude and said that it was nothing they could do and to call their boss. After calling for days I finally get ahold of her and she is just as rude stating that she can't do anything about charging me 120 for insurance that wasn't asked for. They are a bunch of crooks!!! Make sure to check every detail of what you sign because they will not explain anything to you just tack on prices you didn't ask for !! I suggest everyone to go to another rental property do not go to this one unless you want to get robbed

terrible terrible terrible customer service , upon arrival we where told a certain car was reserved , but of course it wasnt so a lady said we have a truck same pice but later on it was never she said oh no its $50.00 more. upput returning the vehicle she argued that we needed to put $2.00 more gas in the tank however the gas was exactly where it was when we took it . she argued that it wasnt when she walked out with us it was more gas, well she never did her job and walked out with us to do an inspection just handed us the keys and said have a good trip ! this was so unacceptable is Avis that hard up that they just lost a customer over $2.00 ? as she didnt do her job as an employee we are never going back ! how bout that

I was given more than exceptional service here. After walking out of Enterprise because of a different price than my reservation, and spoken to as if I were incompetent, I drove about 20 minutes to this location, Not only did they accommodate me for my trip in less than 24 hrs, but felt comfortable. Customer service is number 1 and they most definitely exceed pleasing the customer! I will forever rent from this Avis location even though I receive a corporate discount from other renters.
