Honestly there's not that many good places to get groceries or anything in Hegewisch. It pretty much is one of Chicago's most isolated neighborhoods it seems. Baltimore Food & Liquor Store is one of the few places to go. Pretty basic looking. The beers and liquors are the best part, while the food is mostly processed junk, and overpriced for most things. About the only place for a mile to get any groceries. It's a few blocks from the Metra station, but this one isn't a frequent stop, which makes sense because there's not much going on around here. This is where the liquor came from at the host we hung with. Basic looking store and not a lot of good food to be honest. There's lots of chips and crap such as that. On top of that it's overpriced. This place is no Save A Lot that's for sure. Best thing here is the booze. It's not that cheap but it's not as expensive as the food. They however actually have a limited selection of fresh vegetables.

Nice little gem in Hegewisch. We did some stone work at the bank across the street and this place was an excellent place to grab a snack or some coffee n donuts. They have a varied selection of ethnic foods and drunk. Better yet, the snacks and cookies from different cultures are pretty tasty. Staff was always welcoming and friendly, even when we'd walk in covered in mortar dust and sweating profusely. All in all, it's a great little place to stop in n grab some goodies.

Went to buy holiday scratch offs and asked for a few holiday envelopes for the tickets. The old man who resembled a troll was very rude. He asked how many tickets I was buying and refused to give me more than one envelope. I went 5 minutes into Indiana and got great service and numerous envelopes.

First time visiting this place and the cashier a short old white man with glasses was completely rude to me. Allowed a customer to cut me and didn't even acknowledge. Second time visiting this place and the same issue with the same guy. I've noticed on both occasions the difference in each transaction when It came to serving those that were white and those that weren't. They won't get my business any longer.

Ive been buying Drago bobs over 20 yrs at this establishment. I have never had an issue with the quality of the drago bobs, but I have an issue with their policy now with the facemask. Its June 13th ( Indiana's off lockdown) and now they're requiring you to wear a mask in their store. During this whole pandemic I have been in there and bought Drago Bobs and never had to worry. It's kind of like making a person wear a condom after the woman's already pregnant. I spend on average per year about $2,000 worth of Drago bob-alone.. I can guarantee you I will never go back into the store again. I will go down to Cedar Lake where their competition is now selling the same Drago Bob's , and where I dont have to deal with the stupidity of wearing a mask. Most shame ful is they're trying to sell me a mask for $2! A mask that doesn't do anything for covid-19 in the first place, they are falling prey to the fear of a stupid pandemic that has been shown to be fake... lost my business forever!

I have been going in to this place for 12 years. Awesome place, but, I have issues with a lady there. She's older with light brown hair and a outrageously bad attitude. Asked me "what do you want?" When I approached the deli and watched her be ignorant to my daughter. Roll her eyes at her. Walk away from her 3 times and ignore her to wait on someone else. Absolutely cannot keep my mouth shut about it anymore. Bad attitude!

I just got a new client in the area and stopped in based on the reviews. I think everyone that wrote a review has to be partial to this place because I have never experienced such rude behavior in my life. My co-worker who is a all dressed person of color was treated like he was back in the 1960s. The next time I will go through the stop sign and support the grocery store down the street.

Typical Chicago over priced place. Everything there is much higher in price. I understand they are small and charge a little more but 10 cents for a bag. Everywhere else it's 7 cents. Most times they act like they are doing you a favor to sell you something. Oh yes and if your not a regular they star at you like your alien.

As all have said their shiskabobs are the best. Every where I take them they are the hit of the events. I also like to pick up a loaf of French bread that is trucked here from Molino's bakery in Blue Island. Its better than what you can get locally.
