We had 2 double cheeseburgers and split an order of fries for breakfast here this morning! It was a great decision. Burgers a bit small but flavorful, soft bun, generous with the pickles, onions, cheese, mustard and ketchup. The staff was very friendly for 630am on a Sunday morning and we enjoyed some casual banter with 3 of them. It was a nice change and It beat Einstein Bagel by a long shot.

Pros: when hubby lived in DC he ate this chain daily. Wanted this for nostalgic reasons. I got polish sausage Chicago style. Yum. Hubby got burger and fries. Cons: very chaotic ordering system. Everything comes out plain and then one guy dies the condiments. Might normally work, except people in front of us couldn't figure out what they ordered. The large size drink is teeny tiny. Food was very messy.

For good eats at an airport, just follow the flight crews. As I walked by Billy Goat Tavern, the scent of grilling burgers tempted me to get in line. Ahead of me were some pilots, flight attendants, a plane maintenance employee still in his neon vest and a few others. People passing by were asking the crew if this was a good place to eat; they all responded with a resounding "yes". My double cheeseburger (pickles, onions, ketchup & mayo on request) and side of fries were spot on. And hot. I almost burned my mouth on the fries--just how I like them. All this for only $10 and change. If lettuce & tomato had been available, my burger would have been perfect.

Flat top burger works for airport food. The bun could be higher quality. The service was fast and efficient. The walk up counter worked well in this situation.

The smashed burgers here were very juicy and flavorful! My only negative comment was there were no lettuce or tomatoes. It was just a straight up cheeseburger. There were raw sliced onions, raw chopped onions, dill pickles, and pickled relish, but no lettuce tomatoes. The fries were just ok, not very crispy. I normally like having some fresh veggies on my burger to balance out the fat content. While I enjoyed the burger, it was a bit greasy and heavy for me. It was delicious though, but I couldn't eat the whole thing.

It's the best bang for your buck at MDW! I've stopped here twice since it opened and both times, was pleasantly surprised by the speed, value, and quality. The staff are friendly and seem to take pride in the efficient operation they run. On the first layover, I waited in a short line and had the Curse Breaker burger and cheese fries. My items came up quickly, and I loved the diner-style fare. It's not fancy, it's a little messy, but it's not trying to be anything it's not! The second layover, I decided to try their Italian beef and fries and used the scan to order QR code because the line was longer and my layover was shorter. My initial quote for how long the order would take was 30 mins, which came after I completed the online purchase. I was a little disappointed because I only had an hour until boarding would begin for my connecting. But I assumed that was a very conservative guesstimate. Instead, I waited three minutes and got a text telling me my order was up! So fast! The Italian beef was pretty close to perfect. Just the right amount of dip and the sandwich held up well until the last bite. The regular crinkle fries were hot and crisp. MDW had pretty abysmal food options for a while. Since the terminal renovations, things have vastly improved. Billy Goat Tavern is a slam dunk for cheap eats that won't disappoint!
