We were here for a wedding in the Skyline loft within the Bridgeport Art Center. The venue was very nice and the staff was fantastic. Overall it was one of the better weddings that I've attended. There is a secure parking lot outside and then you enter on the lower level. There was a coat check and a freight elevator. You got on the elevator and are handed a glass from an in-elevator bar. We got water, but I'm sure you could do champaign. There was a a conversion of the ceremony room into the dining room. While this happened there were appetizers and drinks in the entry hallway. This took maybe 45 minutes which was reasonable. The venue was large, and could have easily held another 100 people. There is a lot of exposed brick and wood and very high ceiling. There was a live band and the acoustics were pretty good. You have a great view of downtown (thus the "Skyline" name. The even location gets very close to five stars, probably four and a half. The appetizers and drinks were very good. The main meal was fine but honestly not that good. Overall thought it was a great wedding.

This was our second time attending an art show opening at the Bridgeport Art Center. Other than two popular event venues, namely the Skyline Loft on the 5th floor and the Sculpture Garden on the first floor, the huge building also provides art studios and office spaces, and two spacious art galleries on the 3rd and 4th floors. Both times we attended the art openings on the 4th floor by taking a manned-freight elevator from the 1st floor. The first time we went two years ago, there was a public ticketed event going on. So, there were long lines just getting into the building. This time we arrived at 8:00 pm for a 7:00 - 10:00 pm opening, they had the entrance on the side of the building, and there were no lines. We attended "The Landscape is Changing" art exhibition that runs from July 18 to September 5, 2025 on the 4th Floor Gallery. It featured multimedia artworks from 101 contributing artist. There were paintings, photos, 3-D art, and sculptures that depicted natural and man-made structures of our surroundings, inspired and influenced by the landscape. The galleries were spacious and well-lit, and the exhibitions well-planned and professionally done. Since refreshments and beverages were on the 3rd floor, we decided to go down one floor by taking the stairs instead of the freight elevator. However, be prepared to go through quiet hallways of storage spaces that felt like a maze and adventure. It was nice that all the spaces were clean and well-maintained. However, I hope Bridgeport Art Center would look into improving the air conditioning in the art gallery spaces. Two years ago, it was hot and miserable during a hot summer night. This year, we were lucky that we had an exceptionally cool summer evening, that the outside temperature was only in the 70s. But the inside of the galleries was not too hot, but still on the warm side. I saw a couple of ladies fanning themselves with paper or something in their hands, while complaining about being too warm. However, other parts of the building could be nice and cool, that included their office. When we were leaving, the freight elevator door opened on the 5th floor, where a wedding reception was going on, we could feel a nice blast of cold air getting into the elevator. I highly recommend "The Landscape is Changing" art exhibition with free admission and runs until September 5, 2025, but please check the weather forecast and pick a cool day so that your experience will be more enjoyable.

Was at the venue as a guest for a wedding in the Sculpture garden. Was an elegant well run event. Building is gorgeous and all was done efficiently and without issue. Plenty of parking was a nice bonus. Dinner service was done effortlessly. No complaints as a guest.

What a stunning space! I attended a wedding here this past weekend and was blown away by Bridgeport Art Center. The space is very large with many rooms used for various purposes (art classes, coworking spaces, etc), but my experience was in the Skyloft. We boarded a really cool old-timey elevator to get to the event space. It was huge, held around 20-30 people, had an operator working it, and even had a bar! The actual event space is stunning. Incredible views of the city from the Southside, tons of natural light, and incredibly spacious. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and the space, despite open, has some pockets they could block off with curtains for a cocktail hour while they quickly flipped the room for the reception. All the food we ate was INCREDIBLE! As was the staff, always keeping our glasses full and clearing plates. The cherry on top is the enormous and free parking lot! I can't wait to explore more events happening here at the Bridgeport Art Center.

My husband and I just got married at the Skyline Loft. I want to start by making it clear that this SHOULD have been a 5 star review. Everything about the day was flawless except for one major thing - which I'll get to in a moment. I do want to start with the positives. The venue is gorgeous. The high ceilings and open space is beautiful and the production company we used (Art of Imagination) was easily able to make this beautiful space exactly what we wanted for our wedding. The views of the skyline are unmatched and it was perfect to see the skyline during the day and then be able to see the skyline at night which was made even more beautiful by the string lights hanging across the ceiling. The venue was also incredibly responsive to our many requests prior to wedding day. The reason that I am giving Bridgeport 2 stars rather than the 5 stars I wish I could give them is that the freight elevator was broken. My husband and I chose this venue SOLELY for the beautiful freight elevator with a gorgeous chandelier and most importantly a bar serving champagne as guests arrived. We both agreed that this would perfectly set the fun and festive tone for the rest of our wedding. There were many beautiful venues we loved but truly nothing as unique as being served a welcome champagne in such a beautiful elevator. I first heard there was trouble the day before the wedding. We arrived in the morning to drop things off and I found that the freight elevator was a mess and had numerous maintenance men working on it. It seemed that the venue had not planned to tell me the elevator was down until I discovered it myself. They said it would be fixed by 2PM. I asked for a text message or call as soon as possible with an update, so my coordinator and I could figure out a plan B if the elevator were not working. I still had not heard from her around 3pm which is when I began calling. After a few calls, I was able to get in touch with our venue contact. She explained that the main freight elevator was "fixed but would not be used" as the maintenance team could not guarantee its safety. At this time, she stated that the plan would be to use the smaller freight elevator. It would still have a bar and they were nice enough to move the beautiful chandelier. However, it was smaller so there would have to be more trips taken in order to transport all of our guests to the venue. We were disappointed but happy we could still have the experience we were hoping for. When we arrived a few hours later for the rehearsal, I saw a maintenance man on the smaller freight elevator. I turned to our venue contact and said "this elevator IS working right?!" She said "of course, we're just checking a few things because it hasn't been used in a long time." Turns out - the smaller freight elevator was tested that evening and allegedly working. However, on wedding day, as SOON as my guests started arriving, it was deemed to no longer be working. Therefore, my guests had to ride the back elevator that is quite literally the opposite of the beautiful freight elevator we dreamed of. It has carpeted walls and is the truly the most industrial elevator you could imagine. A long line formed for this elevator and as a result, a few dozen of our guests climbed the 5 flights of stairs in their formal attire to ensure they made it to our ceremony on time. Furthermore, once the guests arrived at the space, it took the bar a long time to start serving champagne before the ceremony, and several guests had to keep asking if and when the bar would open. Eventually, shortly before the ceremony, they were able to have a few servers pass wine and champagne. Not only was this beautiful freight elevator experience the reason we chose this venue, but we had also told all of our guests to anticipate a glass of champagne from a beautiful elevator bar. Not only were all of our guests expecting this experience, but they arrived early to the wedding (4:15-4:30) as we instructed in order to experience it. Thus, not only were we incredibly let down by the situation, but it felt like we were letting our guests down as well. Our wedding was beautiful, and I'm so happy to be married to my husband. Bridgeport did give us some financial compensation but not nearly what my husband and I feel is fair. If they had given us more, this would probably be a 4 star review. I really wish I could give Bridgeport 4 or 5 stars but since this was supposed to be such a pivotal part of our day, I cannot.

A beautiful studio and event space! Definitely check out their monthly open studio nights. It's amazing how big the building is and how many artists participate in the monthly get together.

Great venue! Attended a holiday party for work and so much fun with great city views, live band and food stations. High ceilings and very spacious with free parking ...I would certainly come back again!!

This is exactly why old buildings should not be immediately torn down and replaced with something new. They just don't build places like this anymore. These old big open loft spaces can be repurposed into beautiful modern spaces for art galleries, entertainment venues, art classes, ... which is exactly what happened here. The building is beautiful and the rented rooms for events is a beautiful space. I attended a wedding here a week ago and had a great time. I had such a great time that I forgot to take any photos of the venue for this review! But to be honest, the pictures that others have posted are very good. The staff was very nice and friendly, and the food was very good. If you are looking for a beautiful space in which to host an event, then don't overlook this beautiful space for your next planned special occasion. This place will definitely make your event special.

Art Event Free Every 3rd Friday Of The Month. Free Parking on the North Side of the building. I have visited this place on many different occasions and always had such an amazing time. Bridgeport Art has multiple galleries were you can walk around and enjoy some exquisite art work and exhibits from many different talent artists. This a place to come out and just mingle and Network with some nice people of all ages. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter to receive emails on special events. Fashion Shows, Sip & Sew Classes, Ceramic Classes & Paint Classes. A Big Loft that is a maze of fun. It gets pretty Hot in some areas of the loft so wear some light clothing in the summer time. Such a beautiful place to host or even attend events. Great Night for a date or just come hang out by yourself to witness some impress artwork displayed on many different levels of the loft. There is even a wine station located on each floor of every level for you to walk around and get your sip on. Skyline events are located on the 5th floor where you can overlook and see the Beautiful Chicago Skyline. Very modern & nice beautiful architecture area.
