What a usual experience! I'm standing at the door, trying to determine if I'm even in the right place. It seemed as though I were standing in front of a salon. I entered, and an greeted by a salon smell. It was not overpowering and was arguably pleasant, and but I see a bar to the left, so I am in the right place. Fair enough, I have a seat. This isn't them being cute with a theme, there is a bona-fide salon here, though it does not operate as late as the bar and was tucked away behind a curtain. Speaking to a regular, it is possible to have a cocktail while having your hair cut (or maybe waiting at some point in the process?) But I digress. I ordered a Taxi Dancer - an extremely pleasant whiskey-based drink that was spirit forward without being overwhelming (though I drink whiskey neat, so take this with a grain of salt). It had a perfect level of sweetness, and a little spice (not heat). The vibe here is upscale, modern, and bright. The bar staff is friendly and welcoming to newcomers and regulars alike. I also love that their prices seem to be reasonable, all things considered. The aforementioned cocktail is $16, which is fair considering the quality. While on that particular night I only had the one, I will be happily adding Buzzed by Zea to my cocktail bar rotation when I feel like going out for a night on the town.

Stumbled across BbZ by accident after a recent afternoon game at Wrigley. Definitely a place for that sophisticated cocktail prepared with top shelf by a fun, professional staff at the bar. Great service. Very chill vibe decor. Nicely decorated & staged. Street parking. But also let it be known that BbZ is a hair salon ( in the rear). So stop in for a cut or color, and have a "Menage a Trois", a seriously excellent version of the Old Fashioned, made with 3 top shelf rye whiskeys. Prices & portions are fair for the high quality spirits they serve. The four of us really enjoyed our time there and would definitely go back next time in the area.

I have hosted multiple events at Buzzed and it's always an amazing time! The owners are very accommodating, the drinks delicious, and vibes contagious! One of my favorite places for a 5 star handcrafted cocktail.

Very unique spot! Part hair salon and part cocktail bar! We came at night when it was only a cocktail bar and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Food options are slightly limited with what seemed like mainly charcuterie options. Plenty of drink options and both cocktails were perfect! Very moody and vibey lounge that is perfect for a nice romantic date night!

I count my blessings every day that I live close enough to consistently hit Buzzed by Zea with my roomies, friends, line dancers, etc. This adorable cocktail bar might completely skip your eyesight at first glance - it's a hair salon and a bar? Huh? But the vibes are always immaculate and the cocktails are brilliantly crafted. I never take good pictures (sorry) so I only have their off-menu espresso martini c. july 2023, but these guys just get it. The barstaff is a small rotating cast of the utmost professionals who are absolutely lovely! You HAVE to make this a destination, even if only for a single cocktail before enjoying Lakeview. There are cozy booths, or you can sit at the bar. There's JAZZ NIGHTS I think once or twice a month? There's brilliant cocktails with often locally sourced honey (I think that's the triple meaning of Buzzed actually? Buzzed haircuts, buzzed from booze, and buzz buzz like bees? Am I making this up? This would have been told to me years ago because I've been coming a long time lol) Anyways, check it outtt!!!

Despite moving out of Northalsted, I make a point of visiting Buzzed by Zea every week or two for its Uber creative, seasonal cocktail menus and warm, unpretentious vibe. And, the service is friendly And attentive without being overbearing. While happy hour and early evening is chill, later in the evening tends to be more lively and lounge-y. BbZ makes great use of the enclosed walkway next door lovely private events, too! While I no longer have the hair for a cut and style, I have found a cocktail or two at BbZ to be just the treatment I need. Faves on the current menu are The Irish Kilt (for whiskey) and Casa de Banana (for rum). Everything here is just so darn flavorful. Definitely elevated among other bars in the area, I consider BbZ to be one of Chicago's great unsung establishments--the secret place I take friends and visitors to for a top shelf experience.

A wonderful spot for a wonderful cocktail. The drinks are all very crafted with high quality ingredients. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The bar is a little small but they also have overflow seating available. One of my favorite cocktail spots in the neighborhood!

Best blow out in the city. Everybody that I've seen walk out of here has a beautifully styled blow out. I have super curly hair and could not believe how straight and bouncy my hair was when I left. All the stylists do great blow outs. Super cute space with a gorgeous bar and fabulous crafted cocktails. It's worth trying out.
