I can't say enough good things about City Segway Tours! If you have any hesitation about learning the Segway and doing the tour, I am here to tell you that your worries will go away within minutes of getting on it. It really is a very simple, intuitive machine that is fun to drive and a great way to see the city. We did the 3 hour tour with Kyle as our guide. He was informative, easy going and great all around guy! We got a great view lots of the sites and got some great skyline pictures in areas I am not sure we would have wondered to on our own. Seriously, do the Segway tour!! I it is so much fun!

Clark is the best tour guide ever! This was a great tour and we really enjoyed it. Got to see a lot of the Grant Park/Museum Campus area. It's so much easier than walking around and you can see the places you want to go back and visit. Yes, you look like a dorky tourist but it is fun. Our "training" session took a little longer because we had an older woman who tried valiantly, but failed to get the hang of it so she had to bow out of the tour. But once we got started, it was great. Definitely recommend it!

My wife booked a two-hour tour for us and three of our kids this past weekend while visiting Chicago. I will admit I was very nervous but I will tell you it was one of the funniest things I have ever done. Our guide Bryanne was awesome and I'd do another with her anytime. I have been to Chicago so many times in my 54 years but had never experienced the waterfront the way we did in those two hours Sat morning. City Segway Tours was great, professional and on top of things and made it very easy for us to enjoy the experience. If you have never ridden a Segway, you need to .... so cool. Next time in Chicago, we'll do it again and if I'm in another city where they have tours, I'll go with CST anytime.

SEGWAY: a two wheeled, self balancing transportation device. CHICAGO: a beautiful city with lots to see. Put them together and you will not believe the fun you will have rolling around the city of Chicago. City Segway Tours was tops on my list when I was looking for something to do with my two teen aged nephews that would teach them a little bit about our fair city- and keep them engaged. I checked out Yelp and SCORE- a 10% discount if you mention Yelp. I called- talked to a very friendly person who sounded like so much fun on the phone I couldn't wait to give it a try. There are 3 hour daytime tours that run $70 and 2 hour evening tours that run $60 (before the Yelp discount). You meet at their office on Randolph where you are fitted for a helmet- are terrified by all the pitfalls of Segway riding by a safety video (they showed all the ways you can fall and hurt yourself!) and then you are introduced to your machine that you will spend the next three hours attached to. Once everyone in the group masters the basics (trust me- its all about balance) you are off and navigating the streets of Chicago- dodging tourists and bikers and on this particular weekend- all the music lovers at Lollapalloza (gotta love a challenge!). We went south from Randolph down to Northerly Island- stopping, of course to learn a little something about all that Chicago has to offer, Millennium Park, Grant Park, Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, Buckingham Fountain, Burnham Harbor, Navy Pier, The Art Museum, and learning about other buildings and structures in the city. We then backtracked along the lake and went to look at the River and the buildings that frame it. Very cool! The amount of distance you get to go is really dependant on those in your group. If everyone gets the hang of the Segway early on- you can make really good time and see more things. Our group was great. About 15 minutes of total training and we were off! You must be 12 to ride and they take a $500 deposit up front on to cover any issues that may arise with the Segway. Bring a credit card as if you put it on your debit card- it will take a while to clear as the bank holds those funds.This deposit is refunded at the conclusion of the tour. The guides are personable, knowledgeable and appreciate tips at the end so come prepared. City Segway Tours also operate in Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington DC, Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, and Paris. Such a cool way to cover alot of territory to learn about a city. And know before you go that you will be standing for 3 hours. Wear the most comfortable and supportive shoes you own as your feet get a work out supporting you and maneuvering the Segway. Seriously- this is some of the most fun I have had while sightseeing in Chicago. And I got to show my relatives what makes Chicago such a great place to live and play. This review arrives a year later, but better late then never. There were only 3 people on this Segway Tour. And one of the 3 was our tour guide. Dang, there goes the fun of bonding w/a group of strangers. Lucky for the tour guide my friend and I were loud enough to represent a group of people. But the real luck came to us, because our tour guide, Nate, was OFF THE HOOK hilarity. We started by watching a Segway safety video, then put on some nifty rain ponchos they provided since it was a bit drizzly out. We then went outside to learn how to use the darn things. He had to test us to make sure we wouldn't fall on our a55 while on it, at least not on his watch. It took a few minutes to learn how to maneuver and control the Segway, but we were off and rollin in no time. We segwayed, if you will, to the Married w/Chirren Fountain (Buckingham Fountain), Millenium Park and "The Bean", John G. Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and even more awesomer, (yes I did) we wove in and around Soldier Field. We even stopped at a Chicago Style Hot Dog stand halfway thru the tour to stretch out and get a bite to eat. What I loved the most was Chicago's architecture and public art surrounding the city. Nate was always a helping hand and took a lot of pics of us in front of memorable spots. Aside from learning a bunch about the City of Chicago while on a Segway, we also sang our way through it (the Never-Ending Story, to be exact), acted like we were filming a music video, semi-battled other Segway tours we'd see by mean-mugging them (even if there were only 3 of us), high-fived people on the street, reminisced with retro talk (we all fell in the same age group), laughed so hard in the rain, and took pride that we probably made Nate's tour seem more like we were just hangin out and he wasn't workin at all. (To Nate's Boss: He was TOTALLY working.) If you're teeter-tottering between which Segway Company to choose, don't even think twice about it. You'll have a great time w/City Segway, and you'll get to see all the spots you'd want a postcard of in just a few hours. Nate, if you're reading this- we had the BEST time on our rainy day adventure w/you. It's people like you that make those cool, funny memories possible. Hope to visit Chicago again and will definitely send more people your way thru recommendation :)

What a blast! This is a must-do for exploring the city. I'm glad I did this in my first few days here to give me additional ideas of what I wanted to see on my visit here. An excellent deal for $70 + tip for 3 hours and 10 miles of fun! Luke was our awesome tour guide who was so full of interesting historical facts and cool stories, he really made it that much more entertaining. This was my first time on a Segway and being highly uncoordinated, I was a tad nervous, but it's easy provided you follow the instructions on how to be safe. I would do this again here in Chicago or any other city where there is lots to see.

I came here with a group of about 40 coworkers because of a corporate event. We arrived around 4pm. Training (video and practice) took about 30 min, so the actual time cruising around on the Segway was less than 1.5 hours (scheduled 2 hours total). Our tour took us 8 miles around the Grant Park and Soldier Field area. The Segways are initially limited to 6 mph, but they were increased to 10 mph about halfway into the tour, when we were better with them. I managed to fall off twice since I was attempting some crazy maneuvers while blasting along at the max speed, but I was perfectly fine. Our guide, Beth, was really cool and friendly. She was also really knowledgeable about the area, and she answered every question I threw at her. Unfortunately, our group had an accident towards the end, and we had to switch to another guide, who wasn't quite as friendly. Overall, a really fun experience, but a deduction of 1 star due to the second tour guide, 1.5 hour ride time, and speed limiting.

City Segway Tours is by far THE BEST place to get a Segway tour in town! These people were exceptionally easy to book a tour with, their customer service was friendly and attentive, and they really seemed genuinely interested in helping us. When we arrived at their facility they had a cute little facility located right by Millennium park that was easy to find. After a quick training session that was helpful (and even pretty funny) followed by a quick introduction we got on the segways! They split us into groups making the tour groups small, which was awesome. Our tour guide was so helpful, patient, and HIGHLARIOUS. I was laughing the whole time whilst learning about Chicago and buzzing around on the very nicely upkept Segway. The tour took us everywhere, to so many interesting places, and I really got a good idea of the city of Chicago and learned things I I hadn't...and I've lived here for 3 months. These people are the best, by far. I've been on another Segway tour in Chicago and those people make this company look like Segway gods. If you're in Chicago, not only should you go on a Segway tour but you MUST book it with these guys or else you'll regret it! Happy Segging!

We decided to do a Segway tour when visiting Chicago where I grew up, but have not lived since 1984....so touristy fun things it was...and this was one of the highlights of our trip! Entertaining, fun, and we learned a lot....I now want to do segway tours in every city I visit! Before I booked, I saw various segway companies available to chose from in Chicago, but City had the best reviews, and a yelp discount. Then I did a little more research, and not only does City have the best reviews, the other options actually have bad reviews. Our guide was knowledgeable, fun, and you can tell, just an all around nice guy...so if you go, try and get Dave....and zoom zoom!
