It was an unreasonably warm day in October and we decided to stop by here for some ice cream. There's plenty of parking but only one bench to sit outside. Since it was taken we had to sit inside. Place our order, found a clean n table, and sat down. Within minutes we had our items. I had the vanilla cone dipped in chocolate - the best. This place also has a drive thru but it cuts right in front of the entrance/ exit out the door. (picture attached) I can't imagine all the close calls as a kid runs out of the store, right in front of a moving car. Whoever manages this spot really needs to consider some sort of fence or warning signs or something.

Every time I visit there's a line out the large parking lot and on to Irving. It goes decently fast but this location is super busy which is a great thing! Ice cream is always excellent here. Wish they had peanut butter hard shell for the dipped cones :)

They put REAL strawberries on my icecream when I asked for strawberry ice cream, and I'm REALLY upset about this. I wanted a refund but instead I'm SUING.

We love Dairy Queen and the best thing in this location is that the staffs are always nice. The only con is that th place is not really clean.

This is the 4th year we order the same ice cream cake for my son's birthday from this exact location. 2 years we showed the cake decorator an image we wanted on the cake, she had us send it to her and she printed the image on the cake for us with no issue, the 3rd year we only had her write "Happy Birthday Michael", she did a wonderful job, put sprinkles around the border and little balloons on the top, although simple she went over and beyond making it look great. This year she fought us saying that every year we bring her the printed edible image that's why she did it, we don't know where to print edible images nor have we ever done that, I explained this to her but she continued to stand strong and argue we were wrong or must have ordered elsewhere even after she already said she remembered us. I didn't want to waste anymore time arguing so I asked her to just write "Happy Birthday Michael", clearly in the impression that she'd obviously do her job as a decorator and put sprinkles on the edge or balloons ect like she did in the past without us asking or like she has for some cakes already made in the freezer, I was 100% wrong. She literally just wrote "Happy birthday Michael" with no design, no sprinkles, nothing, it is VERY clear that she did this cake with no professionalism and putting her emotions into the disagreement we had doing this cake with anger and resentment to stick it to us and prove a point. It's atrocious that she would do this to a 4 year old for his birthday and we will Never be going here for custom cakes again, she needs to learn to put her emotions aside and be professional at all tim

i used to love this spot. came here like 3-4 times a week. up until i went in for my regular order which was about 20 bucks and they charged me 25$ for avacado. so in total 45$. 5$ per taco. it was ridiculous. i told them i was okay and never went back.

Not great service today. It was pretty busy--that often happens when the weather is great in Chicago, and today was the first beautiful, sunny, warm-ish day since winter started, and also the first such day after the time change. But... it's not the first time it's been busy here, busier than this even. So I'm not sure why they were so frazzled/rude. I placed an order and before I was even finished with the first item in the order the woman was asking if that was all. I added the second item in the order and again she asked if that was all. I said yes, and then asked her to repeat my order to me since she had cut me of to start. Apparently once you say your order is complete, they turn off whatever speaker they are communicating through, because I received no response after I made that request. I said "hello?" into the speaker twice in the 1.5-2 minutes I was still there before the line moved forward, and never received a response. When I got to the window to ask that they confirm the order, it was correct, but I'm really put off by the rushing/cutting off customers and then ignoring them bit. Beyond that, their parking can be tricky especially when it's busy. There isn't enough space for them to have a parking lot and a drive through lane that goes through the parking spaces, so if you're parked and there's cars much past the menu board you may have to be patient in getting out. But they are one of the DQ's in the area that have year-round hours, whereas some others in the greater Chicago area close for winter.

I just wanted to give a lil update for shits & giggles! The FORMER-employee(she was FIRED) that I complained about in my review left me a lovely message that I just came across! She said, I am the reason she "HATES WHITE PEOPLE" Ironically enough, I'M HISPANIC!!!!! So, unfortunately this girl could not play the race card today. I, unfortunately get the impression that she uses that one a lot. I kindly told her that I hope she can learn to change her vile attitude, learn from her mistakes and learn to be professional in her next position & that she won't get anywhere in life blaming others for her indiscretions...especially another race! with that said, she is a very young girl so I suppose there is hope! ¡dios te bendiga cariña! Thank you Dairy Queen for doing the right thing! Also, I posted the former employees message in the Dairy Queen photos. Enjoy!

Giving this a 5 star review for the sole fact that the same manager has been working at this location since I was 6 years old... SIX! 28 years later the ice cream still tastes exactly the same and just hits so many levels of nostalgia. As if no time passed at all.
