I used Tiki terrace and dancers from this school came to dance at our Luau. They were amazing. They got the crowd involved and they danced so beautifully! I want to hire them for all my events !!

I am so happy with this Academy! You get to learn so much about the culture and of course, the dance! Ale and David, the instructors of this dance school is super dedicated to spread Aloha spirits to Chicago! If you are interested in the polynesian dance, this is the place to be!

Our daughter loves Polynesian music and dance and so for her 4th birthday party, we called the Hokulea Academy. Ale came to our house and did a dance performance with cultural discussion and taught the children, moms, and dads some fun and creative dance moves! She was super professional and engaging. It exceeded our expectations! For a unique and joyous addition to any party, I highly recommend the Hokulea Academy!

My daughter was dancing at a different studio for over 3 years and she had fun and made great friendships. However, I noticed that her technique was not improving as the years went by. Also, I feel like this place(old studio) is just another dance studio. As an Observer : My family and I decided to look beyond that "reef" and voyage out to seek other Poly dance studios. We went to the Hōkūle'a Wheeling show- WE WERE HOOKED! As an islander(born and raised) I know and have seen the real deal! And the Hōkūle'a crew has all that in one package. The costumes are absolutely beautiful! The dances are all in sync-NO one dancer stands out among the others-the music is up to date-the brief description of each dance is very important and Hōkūle'a makes sure the audience understands the background of each dance-Very educational! As a member: Since day one, my family and I always look forward to going to the studio to hang loose with everyone. It's our second home. Everyone is very welcoming. All dancers and family feel like one big family. David and Ale are truly gifted teachers. They set reasonably high standards for their dancers and pay attention to each dancer. David and Ale have helped break bad habits and techniques that our daughter inherited from her old studio. In a matter of months, Ale and David transformed our daughter into a whole new dancer- she went out to compete in solo competition at the 2017 Tahiti Fete; they gave her that confidence and spent extra time with her to help prep her. They took our son and made him a great Lil Kane! He dances too and enjoys learning the culture too. Now I am taking part by joining the drumming class. This is how you know this is a great studio when you have your whole family involved! Thank you David and Ale!
